Hello All,

Am sorry for the late feed back..

My Aunts interview went as thus:
(N:B, They are a family of 4, father, mother, son (12)and daughter (15.5), I will just say the basics since I wasn't there and was just told what the questions are.

CO: Greetings...
Aunt: Replied
CO: How long have you been a matron?
Aunt: so so years
CO: How are you related to the person you will be staying with in Al
Aunt: He is my sister's son (That was my younger brother she was talking about)
And that was it! she couldn't believe he was just going to ask her 3 questions and asked her hubby similar questions and finito!

Am trying to help them get tickets online and boy it is so EXPENSIVE!! So far i have gotten $2,350 per person via United, which is the cheapest so far.
Departing: Lagos,LOS (August 9th)to Huntsville, HSV
Return Date: (October 9th).
Tickets from Nigeria are quite expensive, because i wouldn't spend half of that from here, but oh well.. Please is there anyway i can get it cheaper? Because right now the cost of tickets alone is almost ($10,000) shocked huh ..

Good Morning House!

I have been following this thread and studying it for an Aunt of mine who was going for an interview today with her Family. They just had their interview less than 30 Minutes ago and the whole family GOT THE VISA.

I promise to come back later today with all the details..

I would also like to thank Nairaland, because for the past 4 months, God bless everyone of who, you have HELPED so many people here with the insights on Interview. I had to tell my aunty to makes sure her daughter reads every single page (1-500+), and explain to her Parents and i kept calling them and reminding them to "STUDY" the thread...

AM SOOOO HAPPY!!

Hello Everyone,

Am Newbie here, but I have been following for a very long time now.

I have been trying to conceive for about 3yrs, before the end of the 1st year, I started tests and check ups, then my Gyna told me I had PCOS, that I should try to eat healthy and drop some pounds.. I was also placed on Methamophine (I DETEST THAT DRUG)! I was taking 1500mg daily (500mg) X 3.. Because of the bad reaction I was having from it, my Doc told me to stop it, anyways she checked and said the PCOS was almost gone, just 1 left, and I am sure this wasn't as a result of any drug Eba use I had stopped the drug long before I did the test. Might have been the weight or the eating habit. After awhile I got tired of doing tests upon tests, as a point I was told the hormones in my mammary Glands was acting as if I was breast feeding, so I had to take another drug for 2 months, but just Bi-monthly. Then the Doc decided I do HSG test, I was dreading it but had no choice, (mst people say it doesn't hurt, just makes them uncomfortable), mine was the reverse! It hurt so much they had to use a wheel chair to take me out from the Hospital.
Results came and I was told both tubes are blocked shocked !
My Doc immediately advised I went for IVF! I was in shock but she started giving me countries were I could do it abit cheaper and she mentioned (India), she is Indian by the way. And she said she can have it all arranged whenever I decide to do it.

Am sorry for the long story, but a times it's so difficult.. I teach kids in church and I keep wondering why I have to go through all this to have a baby, when everyone around me are having babies. Atimes I am strong, most times am weak.. I have loads upon loads of children's clothes.. I can go to any extent to buy clothes, shoes, etc, hoping & praying my babies are on their way... My self and DH is trying to decide on the next step. Though I heard there is a process of (Flushing the Tubes), I wouldn't mind if someone can enlighten me/us more on that.

Another thing I forgot to add was I did 6 different cycles of Clomid + shots.. And all the time I had 2 good eggs, but my Dr kept wondering why after the 2WW in all the 6 cycles in didn't conceive, until the HSG test, which she said the block tubes were the reason I wasn't getting Pregnant.

TravelRe: The Beauty Of Owning A Nigerian Passport ... by ManchyBabe: 6:21pm On Nov 21, 2012
grin grin grin grin grin
Like Prince onx, I did not want to bother myself reading the epistle, until I saw JeSoul's comment..
I had a similar experience too, which I will try and summarize.
On my arrival to MMA, the man at the immigration counter took my passport, checked it and said "yeeeeeeeeee there is problem" and am like what is the matter please? He said the chip in my passport has been destroyed and i have to go to Abuja, and told me to make sure I do it or else i would not be able to leave the country with the same passport, I just said thank you and left, was not bothered one bit, but mentioned it to my mum who was worried and said I should go to the passport office and check..
2 days to my leaving Nig, went to the passport office in Ibadan, cuz that was were the passport was issued and I asked for Madam X, cuz she was the one i was told to meet by my bro inlaw, and I was told she had gone to Abuja or something similar but the dude I meet asked me what I wanted, I explained to him and he said go and meet Mr. so and so, now am in Mr. so and so's office o explaining my case, come and see shouting like someone died. I quote "YE!!! MO GBE! HA MADAM THIS IS SERIOUS O, YOU HAVE TO GO TO ABUJA O'(Trust Ibadan people to always be DRAMATIC!!!), by now i was sweating, then one said MAKE I CHECK AM FOR OGA'S OFFICE, I handed her the passport, I then heard NA GOD SAVE YOU! By then she has removed the staple pins that was binding my passports and said " MADAM SE YOU DO NOT KNOW THAT STAPLER GO SPOIL AM?" I did not even noticed my passport was stapled, until i realized it must have been from the travel agent i have been using and I have traveled to at least 4 different countries with the "STAPLED PASSPORT O, She said THIS IS A MIRACLE, NOW YOU CAN GO, NA GOD SAVE YOU!' it was like I won a lottery was so happy and left...
Fast forward to few months after, I arrive again that the same MMA and another guy on duty tells me the same story, HA MADAM YOUR PASSPORT HAS BEEN DESTROYED YOU CANNOT LEAVE THE CUNTRY OO, AND ALL THAT CRAP!, I said "ok bring am I go take am to Abuja" and just left.
3-4months after am at MMA again and I still hearing the same CRAP!!! And only God knows how long I will have to hear it.

Mrs Chaircover, i really apprecitae most of your comments on Nairaland, am also young in marriage, but listening and learning from people who have been in it longer helps...
There is a Thread (Husband Smokes Weed) that i read and it is almost giving me a HEART ATTACK!! Would you mind replying to it (Or you would rather not, not like i BLAME YOU! because 99% of the people are that thread have GONE BUNKERS! Due to weed smoking i guess)
undecided lipsrsealed huh

chaircover: You both had an argument and he wanted to leave the house/room but you blocked him and he pushed you. You later wanted to leave after the pushing but he locked the door? Did I get that right?

If I did, then this is the advise I have for you both. Marriage is a long long long journey and the foundation does matter. Build on a solid foundation and you end up with a solid structure. These are your foundation years so you need to both be very clear on how you want to build it. In short start as you need to go on.

Violence of any degree is a NO NO from either side no matter how little; so this needs to stop NOW!. This sounds silly but as you both don’t seem to have dealt with conflict resolution before you got married, so now need to both sit down ASAP and agree on how you will deal with conflict……trust me there will be tens of arguments in your married life so you both need to work this out sooner rather than later.

You both need to understand and agree that if walking away is the best thing to do when tempers are frayed, then the other person must not prevent him/her from doing just that. It’s far better not to try anything for the first time than trying to resolve the consequences when it happens.

So my advice to both of you is this. Understand that there will be arguments,
Learn to deal with arguments, without physical, verbal or emotional abuse.

However Make it quite clear in no uncertain terms in a language that he will understand, that you will not accept any form of abuse from him and you must comply with the same too. . . . . . So no blocking, no pushing, no nothing! from either of you!!!!!. If you both can’t resolve an issue there and then, then go and drink water, play gospel music loudly on the stereo and go and have a lie down. Basically walk away and sort out the issues later!!!!!

I sincerely hope that this is a one off and you have both leant valuable lessons from it.

FamilyRe: Husbands With Security Locks On Their Phones by ManchyBabe: 10:19am On Nov 01, 2012
winkIf we are talking about the men some years ago its alright. But please this is 2012 LADIES!!! A man that LOCKS his phone can CHEAT 1,000TIMES and you will NEVER know, only when God is about to reveal it to you.. so if a married man locks or unlocks his phone doesnt, I REPEAT DOESN'T HAVE ANYTHING TO do with cheating (80%) of the time. A Professional & Serial CHEAT! might has well have a CHEATING PHONE, he uses only for his mistresses and you his TROPHY wife is at home feeling like a G! just because you have access to his phone of it is UNLOCK.. Ladies.... you are on a LOOOOOOOOOONNNNGGGGGG THING if you reason this way in 2012!!!!
By the way am a lady and am Married ...Just learn to leave it to God and have PEACE OF MIND ABEG...
LiteratureRe: "I'm" Or "Am" - Why Are We Such Careless Users Of The English Language? by ManchyBabe: 6:31am On Oct 31, 2012
Dear All,

First off, it is NOT how we write that is the MAIN CONCERN, It is our PRONOUNCATIONS that is a real TURNOFF!! After I left Nig, it took ages before I could pronounce words in the right way.

E.g (CAUSE) (CURSE)
(ASK)(AXE)
And the list goes on, am also learning by the day. God HELP US ALL.
