This thread is a load of crap! Of course God exists.

Ha ha no chit.  With the sheer number of churches and mosques every ten yards in Nigeria, I'd say God already has a branch office there in the world's fraud and ritual murder capital.  With that in mind, I also wonder why there is so much squalor in God's field office.

How come God is content with Nigeria's foul open sewers, festering garbage dumps that take over streets and highways, road surfaces cratered like the surface of the moon and corpses left to rot in the African sun, all in a land inhabited by some of the most determined, imaginative and resourceful embezzlers, extortionists, bandits and career confidence tricksters one could ever have the misfortune of encountering.

I always imagined God's branch office to look more, well, heavenly, but then what the hell do I know ?

Some months ago, a colleague was asking me questions about Nigeria so she could become more familiar with Nigerian culture etc. I spoke extemporaneously and at length about Nigeria' potential, and failure of leadership. I also talked about how the poor education system was a good enough reason to leave Nigeria and how life is relatively short and brutish in Nigeria. On security, she asked me, "If I come to Nigeria, is it pretty likely that I will get robbed?" I thought for some time. My mind flashed back to the agberos on the streets of Ojuelegba, where I lived before I left Nigeria. I replied, "Yes. Very likely." In retrospect, I feel bad about my answer because I feel like I painted Nigeria in a poor light. Unfortunately, the pattern repeats itself very often. Anytime I speak to a foreigner about Nigeria, I always end up saying so many negative things that I feel like I am being unpatriotic or being a self-hater. I once met one white man after the USA-Ghana game at the world cup. He came to me to make small talk and started launching a barrage of criticisms about Nigeria and Africa in general. I found myself nodding in agreement to all his negative talk. This also made me feel like I was under mental-colonization or something.


Does anyone else have similar experiences?

How do you handle it?

I dont get why you are on a Nigerian forum complaining about your fellow Americans. If you have any issue with them you guys are all Americans so sort it out with them.

I get tired of Americans coming on this site with their crap. If Mandingo or any other person thinks that his "Brodas" or Sistas" built Egypt, they need to take their case to an Egyptian forum of better yet go to Egypt and collect what their "Brodas" and "Sistas" kept for them!

the ordinary working class american people are not very aware of what goes on outside their country because they have been brainwashed by their govts, their media is also very powerful and it encourages them not to think, but the elite who run the country are very intelligent, but they are a small minority - these people constitute about 1% of the population but own about 80% of the wealth of america, they control everything - the banking system, the politicians, the economy , the media - everything.

in addition you have the intellectuals - academics, scientists, writers, political activists etc - they are well educated people and they understand the world we live in and what is going on but some choose to pretend and keep their mouths shut for fear of reprisals from the powers that be and others damn the consequences and speak out - but the latter group are in the minority.

I just wanted everybody on this thread to know that caps28 is a racist who hates whites while living in Britain and whinning like a naughty woman all the time.

The thing about blissful ignorance is that it enables you to assume a false sense of reality in which you live in a parrallel universe where you are able to convince yourself that you are above others when in reality every person of any race other than black treats you as an inferior.  Is there any country in this world where you as a black man can go to and you will be accorded the same level of respect that men of other races are accorded? - Hold that thought for a moment.

You continue to delude yourself into thinking that you are equal to a white man when time and time again the white man continues to disregard, insult and disrespect everything about your race and history and  yet you call ME a racist.

Your myopic state prevents you from facing up to the truth of who you are, in keeping with your delusionary mindset you refuse to acknowledge or take on board any discussion or critique about race, racism and the oppression of black people in general.

To make matters worse you live in a country that has a terrible track record with regard to race but as far as you are concerned none of this is of any importance to you.
