Sports / Victor Moses - The Symbol Of Patriotism And Hope by manuelo130: 11:39pm On Feb 10, 2013
Ever since i heard the story about how Victor Moses's parents were slaughtered and burnt in Kaduna and how he escaped to London to rescue what was left of his life, i could not help imagining that the same people who orchestrated the brutal murder of his parents probably cheered him as he labored to bring honor to his fatherland - the same land that could not protect his parents.

Victor Moses should be a rallying point for many young disgruntled Nigerians who feel that the country has let them down.
There are indeed many young people who care less one way or the other when it comes to the issue of patriotism. They feel (and rightly so)that the country has failed them at critical times in their lives.
But today Victor has shown us how to keep faith with our fatherland. Keeping hope alive and believing that one day, we will reach that enviable place of peace and security in Nigeria.

And to those who frequently employ violence as a means of settling issues, my final word to you - You create more problems and complicate already existing ones
Lets embrace the forgiving spirit of this young man and employ same in our everyday lives to move this country forward.

Finally the issue of merit in selecting and appointing people to public offices in Nigeria - My Keshi has shown that with the right people in the right positions, nothing is impossible. They called it "Biafran team" and i heard there was even a protest but today the right people in the right positions have brought honor to the country. Let us enthrone merit and reap quality results.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA

effiongbass: Daimler investment(d a i m l e r i n v e s t m e n t . e u) is an opportunity for people around the world to enrich themselves & this type of opportunity only comes ones in a while. seems too good to be true but from my research about Daimler, Daimler Investment is an easy to use and very profitable. Daimler investment programme is a perfect solution for investors who are seeking quick BUT safe way to make residual earnings on the internet. Daimler is literarily an house hold name. They are the makers of the Mercedes Benz cars and the likes. With Daimler investment, i believe we dont have to worry about instability or inconsistencies like others.

Thanks for this opportunity Daimler!

Umana Umana, Nospecto, Wealthzone ....the list is endless and all the people wey lost their money neva get even one kobo back. Now na Daimler.

Sports / Re: Victor Moses Says ''I'm Ready To Die For Nigeria On The Pitch!'' by manuelo130: 1:37am On Feb 05, 2013
It is people like this that still gives me hope about Nigeria or whatever remains of it.
Ghana has an upper hand over and above Nigeria just because their average players always exhibit this attitude whenever they play against any team and even double the determination when playing against Nigeria.
I was watching Asamoah Gyan say they have come to SA to die for Ghana and thats the spirit.

I only wish the country will reciprocate these gestures not just by giving them money after they win tournaments but also standing by them when they find themselves in some difficulty.
I rest my case

The super eagles will win but it will be tough. Mali is and had always been a very good team and thats not just because of Keita. Difficult to predict
Politics / Re: Blame Jonathan For Nigeria’s Woes – Obasanjo by manuelo130: 2:50pm On Feb 02, 2013
Obasanjo against all odds and against the wishes of Nigerians fished out Jonathan from Nembe for that position. He OBJ single handedly picked him over and above better suited candidates like Donald Duke. Now Jonathan is no longer playing ball and he is complaining. These people are holding us hostage.
Politics / Re: Panic In Presidency Over Mounting Tension In Military - Talk Of Mutiny? by manuelo130: 6:04pm On Jan 31, 2013
Do i want Gen Ihejirika to do the right thing - YES
Has the right thing ever been done in Nigeria - NO
Do i blame Gen Ihejirika if he promotes his kins over and above others ---NO

And like someone asked, " why is it that some sections of the country seem to have the exclusive right to do the wrong things?

If war happens again in this country, it will be a different ball game from what happened in 1966.
There is an abundance of sources of weapons into Nigeria that we will practically consume ourselves in a matter of 1 week maybe.
So i plead with those who are playing the war game to desist from that and rather look for ways of patching up this country.
The country as it is is fragmented already and war (due to any reason) will be a good opportunity for different disgruntled people to take their destiny in their own hand and it may even be a welcome development. Even a good opportunity for the north to establish Islamic rule in the north after the disintegration.

Politics / Re: 2015: Buhari, Tinubu bury ambitions, to anoint candidate by manuelo130: 9:42am On Jun 11, 2012
Mark my words; Buhari is blinded by his ambition to rule Nigeria again and i wonder what he left in Aso rock. All he is trying to do is to gather the initial support and legitimacy from this alliance which will surely break down. In the end he will start coercing party members to accept him as a presidential candidate and this will unfortunately work in PDP's favour.
The problems of this country requires a ruthlessly detribalized man/ woman to give us any chance of survival as a nation.
If we continue the way we are going, we are definitely headed for doom as a nation.
At some point, this nation must realize that the inability to capitalize on the "gains" of the civil war has left us at a cross road in that not many people want to relieve the experiences of a civil war. In other words grievances and hurts are bottled up in a background of fear and timidity and there are also no veritable means of civil redress (for those who would love to go in that direction) and the political class is taking advantage of this.
So what i see in the near future is a bloody revolution. What happened in Ghana will be a child's play. May God help us.
Politics / Re: Mrs Okonjo Iwela For President by manuelo130: 2:10pm On Dec 24, 2009
@Kobojunkie,

Its so confusing to decipher your line of arguement. I have taken some time to go through your posts and still cannot see a pattern.
You seem to be saying 2 different things at the same time.
Anyway when it comes to the issue of good governance in Nigeria it evokes so much emotions among Nigerians for obvious reasons and so i'm not surprised with some responses.
The truth is that Okonjo Iweala is a worthy, patriotic, proven Nigerian and the fact that she had been in Nigerian political circle is not enough to disqualify her from future posts.
Objectivity demands that we look at every individual based on records, as you said in your post. So without wasting so much time and in the spirit of rubbing minds together, can you tell us those records against Okonjo Iweala that disqualify her from holding the highest office in this country.
Travel / Re: Please Your Experience With Emirate Airline by manuelo130: 10:43am On Dec 21, 2009
Emirates is a wonderful airline with courteous hostesses. They are simply amazing and the fares are not expensive considering other airlines. The services are unbelievable and they have excellent packages for kids.
We flew emirates once: Lagos- Dubai -Melbourne Australia and the memory will forever linger on my mind. No complains at all.
Sports / Re: Germany Vs Nigeria (U-20 World Cup) [3 -2] Ouch! by manuelo130: 6:37pm On Oct 03, 2009
This "never give up Nigerian spirit" is amazing. A team that failed to score against some serious football nations and managed to qualify through the back door is still drawing hope from Nigerians!!!

Well i wont even bother tuning to the channel that will relay that match.
I had given them up for dead the day Venezuela defeated them.
Good luck to all of you
Business / Re: Wealthzone And Other Wonderbanks Refund by manuelo130: 4:30pm On Jul 29, 2009
Friends,

I have a "not too cheery" news about wealthzone. Recall that i informed this forum about my application/ enquiry to SERVICOM on the status of our trapped funds.

Well they returned my application and informed me, though unofficially, that the case between wealthzone and SEC was still in court and therefore there was nothing SERVICOM or SEC could do until the case is determined.

So the agony continues. May God help us all.
Have a blessed week
Business / Re: Wealthzone And Other Wonderbanks Refund by manuelo130: 4:30pm On Jun 20, 2009
Jamace,

Thanks for this insight. Really grateful.

I have made a written application to SEC to help provide authentic information on the protracted activity of this Inter-Agency.

Its not really surprising that this issue has dragged on for this long given our antecedents as a country but its time for us to start making noise about it so that those who have gone to sleep on the issue can wake up.

Looking at the list of wonder banks in this article, there is no WEALTHZONE LTD and i begin to wonder if somethinh else is happening with this particular group. This makes my case more mysterious.

I will keep you posted on their response and will appreciate if you let me in on any info you may get. Afriend once told me that investors in these wonder banks were submitting evidence of their investment to SEC but i was never able to confirm this with SEC who denied any knowledge of such activity.

Thanks once more and please keep in touch.

Hi Jamace,

That was a very sad summary you posted there though quiye true.
But do you have any idea on what is going on presently. I invested with Wealthzone and my case is quite pathetic cos i never collected a kobo before they went under.
Are they still in court or what? All there workers now claim not to be working for wealthzone anymore and that makes information gathering very difficult.

The smart arse who owned the place carefully shileded himself from the business and not many people know how to reach him especially now that his workers have disappeared.

I really dont know if there is any hope of recovering my money, Somebody help please!!

Music/Radio / Re: Why Do Igbo Artistes Sing In Yoruba? by manuelo130: 12:10pm On Mar 05, 2009
i think this guy did not do his research thoroughly before posting this question. like so many people have pointed out, present Nigerian artistes have been so resourceful that they realized what they needed to do for their albums to succeed and sell in various parts of the country and at the same time achieve a national appeal.
Till recently, i did not get to know where D,Banj came from, likewise TUface and so many of them.
I say kudos to the new generation of Nigerian artiste for their ingenuity and resourcefullness.
i see it as a promotion of our the rich cultural heritage and nothing to worry about. period.
