1️⃣ Protein percentage does NOT determine feed quality
Two feeds can both be 22% crude protein:
One grows birds faster
The other wastes money
Why?
Because birds do not grow on crude protein.
They grow on balanced digestible amino acids.
Excess protein:
Is wasted
Produces wet droppings

This is why some lower-protein feeds outperform higher-protein feeds.

Metabolizable energy (ME)

Everything else is secondary.

Anyone who understands these can formulate excellent feeds.

Dear Nairalanders, i beg you all, this person is a total rogue. There is no poultry house tat will sell the smallest egg size which of course is a pullet size to you at N850, less the Jumbo size. He is a fraudster. With the pric.es of feed ingredients and the cost per bag of 25kg depending on the brand one is using. The average price of the layers mash is N5 100 and a bag ca is assumed two feed only 200 laying birds per day.

There could several reasons for this. One or more of these could be a factor : source of the poult, the feed quality, feed palatability, environmental factor, disease from the hatchery and many more. I would have loved to assist a bit if you can post the pictures of the affected poults basically their vents region.
In the meantime, you can engaGE them in force feeding because young turkey (poults) are suicidal at young age..
Force feedecan be achieved by either giving them boiled egg as if feeding a baby and/or glucose to give them streams vigour, but egg feeding is more preferable.

As we all are awaiting these Yuletides, we should all be concerned with the quality of chicken we eat. Either from broiler or turkey. With due respect to the market women who engage in the chicken frozen business, it is better we buy farm fresh live broilers or turkey who are by far better than the imported ones via Cotonou border. These imported ones are full of steroids, hormones, drug residues emanated from the use of various types of antibiotics which prone the consumers to various illnesses you can think of, the height being cancer due to the presence of the carcinogenic substances.
Of course, the majority of the ones from the farm are not totally free from all these. But like I said earlier on ,it is still preferable than the so called imported junks all because of its cheapness.
But the best being the consumption of organically raised poultry. Instead of using the so called CHEMICALS, herbs and its extract are used which are natural and help in curing some ailments ranging from arthritis to boosting immunity depending on ones knowledge on ethnic - veterinary medicine.
Commonly used herbs include garlic, turmeric, ginger, black pepper, chilli pepper, basil plant, Alma plant, neem plant, clove seed, pawpaw leaves, pawpaw fruit, pawpaw seeds, banana peel avocado seed, rapeseed etc.
In using any of these, I advise you have a detailed knowledge of each of the listed ingredients and others, otherwise one will regret using any of it. It is not a rocket science.

Interesting to know that some broiler farmers are still arguing it that it is impossible to get a broiler ready at 5 weeks old with an average weight of 2kg. But the truth is that the SECRET is in the BROILERS 10 days of live and nothing more.
The birds are fed with a special feed that at 10 days one should get between 4.5 to 5.5 times the weight of a day old broiler which is between 40 - 42 g.
The question now is how many of us is getting this value?
Of course, the result isn't just dependent of the feeding alone, there are other factors such as the strain if the bird( Arbor Acre, Arbor Acre Plus, Marshall, Cobb, etc) and also the management system practiced.

Your challenge is peculiar issue. First and foremost, it could result if the farm staff are underpaid. And if this is true, then i will suggest their salaries upgraded.
Having said this,other neccessary measures include the following:
a. Take astock of the pullets
b. Make a proper record of the laying pullets available in terms of Hen Day Production
c. Make sure that there is no any form of socket in the pens.
d. Absence of naked wires with access to the mains.
e. No burning of grasses unless authorized.
f. Absence of cooking pots/stoves etc within the perumeter fencing of the poultry house except the staff are housed.
g. Eggs should no longer be given to the staff as gifts either cracked ones or otherwise.
h. Staff should submit themselves for proper searching when coming and leaving the farm premises.
And lastly, spend a week on the farm to DETERMINE the HEN DAY PRODUCTION on the average as this idea will reveal further anomalies.
