There is no gain saying that supposedly high cost of POULTRY LAYERS FEED does not necessarily mean that eggs should be sold at such exorbitant price, aside the present egg glut that is prevalent in the South West presently.
It might interest my followers that despite the cost of 25kg of layer's feed ; a unit of egg shouldn't cost as much as N40 that it's sold in most localities under a false pretense in the high cost of feeding the laying birds.
For any smart Poultry Farmer, this is the time to key in into the market by falling the price of the products. This is more achievable through the knowledge of SELF FEED PRODUCTION Because there is nothing STOPPING the eggs for being sold at N30/one.

How did you arrive at your figures. Stop misleading people, you have to tell us the percantage crude protein of the firmulated feed, its ether extract %age, its metabolizable energy level and etc

Poultry feeds ingredients inclusion rate refers to the quantity of a particular feed ingredient required to give and/or supply the needed nutrients for a particular poultry.
As requested, the inclusion rates of the aforementioned CARBOHYDRATE FEED SOURCES are given below:
Ingredients. Max. Inclusion Rate
- Maize. No limit
- Wheat Not more than 50%
- Sorghum. Not more than 50%
- Rice bran. Not more than 5%
-Wheat bran Not more than 10%
- Brewers Grain Not more than 10%

Note: These inclusion rates are for BROILER STARTER ONLY.
But the truth is that most feeds around do not follow this simple THUMB RULE and is why their birds are not performing well and this PRONE to DISEASES.
Avoid mixing RUBBISH for your birds .

In formulating poultry feeds, you must first of all be able to classify the ingredients into the various classes of food , but my teaching shall be based on the ingredients that I enjoy using not because of their availability but because of preference and result.
CARBOHYDRATE FEED INGREDIENTS
- Maize ( White /Yellow) , but I always use the latter
- Wheat
- Cassava Meal
- Sorghum *
- Guinea Corn*
- Wheat Offal ***
- RIce Bran ***@
- Corn Offal***
-Brewers Dried Grain***@
NOTE: Those feed ingredients with an asterisk are rarely used by me while those with 3 asterisks are Roughages which aid feed digestion and 3asterisks plus @ are also not liked being used by me except with the preference of clients
Also note that aside from Maize , all other ingredients have there MAXIMUM INCLUSION RATE which varies from AGE of birds to the STAGE and PURPOSE of rearing the poultry.

For anyone who engages in poultry farming as a business will agree with me that quality poultry feed is the TOP SECRET of any successive poultry farmers because of the following reasons and beyond:
1. Quality and unadulterated feeds are scarce
2. Lack of the technical know how
3. Continuous increase in prices of feed ingredients
4. Exhaustion of some of the ungodly feedmillers
5. Lack of knowledge of the needs of the poultry birds at different stages of their growths
6. Willingness to cut corners on the part of the farmers ( at their perils)
7.Improper use of the feed ingredients ( as all these ingredients have there levels of inclusion rates)
8.Unbalancing of the Energy ,- Protein level etc.
Having said these, I believe it will do all the Poultry Farmers in the house good in sharing my Practical Knowledge as a practising farmer , Consultant and also as a graduate of Agriculture of over 2 decades.
