CelebritiesPastor Fireman Still In Detention! Faces Court Charge Soon-lagos Police by marshborn(op): 3:58pm On Jan 10, 2014
The Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, has said Fireman is still in Police detention and will be charged to court soon after they conclude their investigations. An 18-year old boy, on Tuesday accused the pastor of sending him to get the faeces of a 12-year old virgin girl which he later killed. The boy was caught and he confessed that the pastor sent him to get a virgin’s faeces, which later landed him in police net.

It will be recalled that Pastor Ofuche Ukoha, also known as Sign Fireman, was accused of being fake by late Nollywood actor, Enebeli Elebuwa who went to his church for a miracle but got double of his sickness after leaving the church. Fireman is also said to only drive yellow cars, and has fleets of them, mostly SUVs in his garage. He is also the man who flooded the streets of Surulere one time with pictures of single hot ladies in posters advertising his church with the caption, ‘All the hot girls in Lagos attend Pastor Fireman’s church apart from you’. He also got married last year.

SportsChelsea Fan Tattoos Mikel Obi’s Name On His Butt(viewer Discretion Is Advised) by marshborn(op):
Chelsea fan, Lee Mitchell wrote on his twitter page on Sunday January 5th that he will tattoo Mikel’s name or Chelsea badge on his butt if the Chelsea midfielder scored against Derby in the FA Cup. He probably thought the chances of Mikel scoring was very low…because the Nigerian player had only scored 3 goals in his seven-and-a-half years at Stamford Bridge.

Unfortunately for Lee that day Mikel scored his fourth goal.

Lee Mitchell went through with his promise and got the tattoo.

SportsIheanacho: The Greed Of A Father by marshborn(op): 7:01pm On Dec 26, 2013
Is U17 World Cup MVP Kelechi Iheanacho doomed even before his promising career has begun as his father is all about cashing in on his son?

The football world was literally on the feet of the younger Iheanacho after he was voted the MVP of the 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where he scored seven goals as Nigeria clinched a record fourth World Cup.

Some of Europe’s top clubs are believed to have indicated interest in the 17-year-old gifted forward armed with a magical left foot.

But his father, James Iheanacho, has since become the recurring decimal in the several controversies that have dogged his son’s next destination.

“Greed by those who should care is the root of all the controversies surrounding the boy now,” lamented one of those very familiar with this transaction.

Among the allegations levelled against Iheanacho senior is that he placed a million Euros price tag on his son and also signed out multiple representative mandates to various agents.

Such was the confusion caused by these multiple mandates that a meeting of these agents had to be called in the UAE to avoid them working in cross purposes.

It has been gathered that Iheanacho had first agreed for a London-based agency fronted by a Nigerian-born agent to represent his son after the African Junior Championship in April in Morocco.

But he would soon sign another mandate for a USA-based group because “I no trust black man, but Oyibo no fit cheat me”.

Ironically, both the Porto and Manchester City offers for Iheanacho were facilitated by the London agency and not the “oyibos” from the US.

It was further gathered that Iheanacho would have long signed for Portuguese champions FC Porto by the quarterfinal of the U17 World Cup, but again his father put a stop to this when he insisted he wanted to be on the party to Portugal.

That was when a formal Manchester City offer came through. It was a better offer than what Porto proposed and among other things it promised hefty cash payments to father and son upon signing of a contract.

Kelechi will get 250,000 pounds, his father will pocket 350,000 pounds and the Taye Academy in Owerri will be 300,000 pounds richer.

The player will also be entitled to various bonuses based on his making the City first team and playing a certain number of games within a period of time.

Both rival agents would then have to cough out various cash gifts to “wet the ground” in the last few months with the latest gift of $5,000 presented last week before father and son flew out to Madrid, Spain, for a Manchester City medical.

In Madrid, Iheanacho passed his medical in the presence of City chief scout Gary Worthington, but all the joy turned to shock and disbelief when it was discovered the Iheanachos will only get their hands on the cash in January 2015, by which time the boy would have clocked 18 and the transfer window has opened.

Kelechi, who has all along said his heart desire is to move to Porto, is now reported to have second thoughts about a move to City as a result.

It is now left to be seen what would be the next episode in this unfolding story of greed, drama, intrigues and cut-throat competition.

OP, it all depends on the concert they headlining, talk about shows like AY Live, Night of a thousand Laughs, and all these MTN and GLO sponsored concerts, as well as Star Lager beer sponsored concerts, then You can be sure of rubbish performance from the various artistes who would be performing.

Then, talk about concerts like " The Headies Awards Night " , Rhythm Unplugged and Guinness's Sponsored " Colorful world of More" concert , then You can be sure of some Perfectly planned concert.
Ice Prince's Superstar and F.O.Z concert , is also a perfect example of Some excellently planned concert.

Celebrities[must Read] Open Letter To Wizkid, Olamide, Iyanya, Et’all by marshborn(op): 2:12pm On Dec 26, 2013
Dear Nigerian Artiste,

It is Christmas season again, that blessed season of giving, getting…and attending shows and concerts. I don’t need to wish you a merry one because I know that by now the state of your bank accounts has told you all you need to know about how merry or not it will be.

This seems to be a season of letters, yes I know, and even more intriguing of leaked ones. I assure you, this letter is different. If it ever gets leaked, know I had no hand in it. It could just be the handiwork of my detractors and political foes.

You are probably wondering who I am and the reason I have chosen to write you a letter rather than tweet at you or send you an email or a text. Wonder no further, you and I know you will never reply me. I am not a celeb. I digress.

So, how many concerts have you signed up for this period? Your account manager at the bank should by now be delirious and you already checking out rides at Coscharis. Bulletproof BMW 7 series maybe? That shouldn’t be an issue now, aren’t you all Princesses and Princes? No pun intended here.

I have a question by the way. How do you plan to make these concerts rock? Like make them totally unforgettable, make them headline grabbing and stuff? Have you been rehearsing with your band?

Say what? You don’t know what a band is?

So how do you plan to make it worth the while of fans who pay huge amounts for tickets and who take the risk of coming to crowded venues and willingly inhale a toxic mixture of second hand smoke, mouth and body odour? And probably get fondled by jagudas all in the name of jumping up and down to the sound coming from the loudspeakers?

Oh? You plan to get a DJ to play your CDs while you lip synch along? Come on! You have to agree that is unfair, unethical, unprofessional, mediocre, untenable, une….. ok let me stop.

It will do you a world of good if you read this letter carefully and take some of the advice and criticisms that will flow from it under advisement.

Your fans are getting smarter and more demanding by the day. A day will come when they will rather listen to the radio or sit in their cars or homes and just flip through CDs, than come to your concert. At least it is you performing (we hope), and of course cheaper, more convenient and less stressful, than struggling to get into VIP at Eko Hotel.

Laziness is the only reason I can think of that will make you, a professional artiste (I definitely can’t refer to you with the more particular title of Musician, you cannot convince me you are one yet) perform from CDs at a show. Your counterparts abroad take time out to have sessions with bands (whether theirs or rented) in preparation for concerts and tours. They don’t rely on DJs. At worst, DJs are a backup. This actually applies to Hip-Hop artistes too.

Instead of giving a show that will make you go down in history and be hailed a legend like TuBaba or be referred to as good concert material like Asha, Omawunmi, and Waje, you will rather stand inebriated in front of hundreds (maybe thousands) of fans and have the gumption to turn back at a likely equally stoned DJ, screaming at him or her “DJ track 7…no! no! that is track 6, I want track 7”. Not good at all. You should aim for better quality.

Imagine if in the middle of you rambling through a track we all have concluded you performed in the studio while recording, the DJ mistakenly pulls a cable and the only gadgets left working are the microphones and we (including your dazed self) find out that you weren’t uttering anything all evening? That you have instead been busy just throwing in the occasional “yaw! yaw! Put ye hends up!! Lagos are you happy??!!!!” Dude come on! How can Lagos be happy after you have been found out to be scamming them? Lesser things have led to concert riots in other places. This picture I painted recently happened to one of Nigeria’s top gospel artistes after collecting 500,000 naira as performance fees from an hapless church. Is what you collect really a performance fee or merely an appearance fee. We need to be clear on this point.

Let me park this letter here. I have had the chance of seeing quite a number of Nigerian concerts; either physically or on TV and I can safely say one more time that artistes of now are largely a lazy bunch. Your concerts merely feed on adrenalin that makes it look like the fans are getting value, not the quality and sheer artistry of your live performances. You all need to fix up.

I can count on my fingers the number of artistes who can actually pull off a concert with a live band. Many of you very likely don’t know the lyrics of your own hits and you many times in those concerts default to pointing the mic at us poor fans so that we can help you insert the forgotten words. Too poor! Fix up else you will have to rely solely on the number of CDs that Obaino and the rest of the Alaba gang can make us buy to make ends meet.

While I believe you will, after reading this missive, make changes and ultimately get more professional; accept the assurance of my highest regards.

Yours respectfully,
All Concerned CD Buyers of Nigeria

CultureAngola Bans Islam, Destroys Mosques by marshborn(op): 8:49pm On Nov 26, 2013
According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.
“The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice,” Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22.
Silva comments were given during her visit last Tuesday to the 6th Commission of the National Assembly.

She asserted that the decision was the latest is a series of efforts to ban ‘illegal’ religious sects.
The minister added, in her answer to questions raised by the MPs of the 6th Commission of National Assembly, that the action will oblige the revision of law 2/04 of May 21, related to freedom of religious assembly, Angolan official news agency, Agencia Angola Press, reported.
The Angolan government would also be obliged to update the current national context as a way of fighting the rise of new religious congregation whose religious assemblies are contrary to “habits and customs to Angolan culture,” Silva added.
Same as Islam, Silva announced that there are at least 194 religious sects that were not authorized to have their activities.
“All sects on the list published by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights in the Angolan newspaper ‘Jornal de Angola’ are prohibited to conduct worship, so they should keep their doors closed,” she was quoted by Cameroon Voice?.
“In addition, we also have a long list of more than a thousand legalization applications,” she added.
Recurrent
The anti-Islam comments were not the first by Angolan officials.
“This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country,” President José Eduardo dos Santos was quoted by Osun Defender newspaper on Sunday, November 24.
Last October, Muslims from the urban municipality of Viana, Luanda, attended the destruction of the minaret of their mosque Zengo.
The provincial governor of Luanda, Bento Bento, has also said on the airwaves of a local radio that “radical Muslims are not welcome in Angola and the Angolan government is not ready for the legalization of mosques.”
He added that Muslims were not welcome in Angola and that the government would not legalize the presence of mosques in the country.
According to CIA Factbook, 47% of Angolans practice indigenous beliefs, 38% Roman Catholic and 15% Protestant.
Islam’s opinion about freedom of religion is evident from the Qur’an, which says what means:
*{Say, ‘The truth is from your Lord’: Let him who will, believe, and let him who will, reject [it]}* (An-Nisaa’ 4:29)
Again, God says: *{Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error…}* (Al-Baqarah 2:256)

Nairaland GeneralEight Killed, 11 Injured In Lagos Truck Accident by marshborn(op): 6:58am On Nov 20, 2013
Tragedy struck in the Oshodi area of Lagos State on Tuesday after a truck belonging to the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Church lost control, killing and injuring many people.

Many eyewitnesses at the scene gave conflicting reports of the number of people killed and wounded in the accident.

The number of the dead ranged between 12 and 20. But police authority confirmed that only six people died, while five people were wounded.

However, the News Agency of Nigeria reported that the Oshodi Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Samuel Ogundayo, said 19 people were involved in the accident, adding that eight of them died.

It was learnt that among the dead was an unidentified pregnant woman, whose foetus was also crushed in the accident

PUNCH Metro learnt that the truck, which was laden with sand, was heading towards Mile 2 area when it experienced a brake failure.

A newspaper vendor on the Oshodi Oke Bridge, Michael Okafor, told our correspondent that the truck ran into bystanders at the Oshodi Motor Park.

Okafor said, “Around 11.30am, many people were standing at the part of the motor park, where Mile 2 buses park when the truck just ran into them. The truck also ran into some of the vehicles there. So many people were crushed and blood was all over the place.

“The driver immediately ran away, but he was later arrested by policemen from Makinde Police Station.”

The incident was said to have caused traffic congestion on the Mile 2 bound lane as bystanders and motorists rushed to the scene to assist the victims.

Police Public Relations Officer, Ngozi Braide, said the driver, Lawrence Nwaodu, had been arrested and the vehicle had been impounded.

Braide said the victims had been rushed to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where they were responding to treatment.

Braide warned motorists, especially truck drivers, to always check their vehicles before driving on the expressway as cases of truck accidents had risen in recent times.

She said, “At exactly 12pm, a fatal motor accident occurred at Oshodi, Motor Park. When police officers from Makinde Division led by the Divisional Police Officer arrived at the scene, they discovered that it was caused by a tipper, which was carrying sand, along Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, inward Mile 2 service lane.

“The tipper, with number plate, JJJ824XD, owned by the Lords chosen Church, lost control due to a brake failure and ran into three stationary vehicles in the park. In the process, all the vehicles got damaged while five yet-to-be identified female pedestrians lost their lives.

“One of the deceased was a pregnant woman, whose foetus also gushed out, bringing the casualty figure to six in number. About five people were also injured and they are currently receiving treatment at LASUTH.

“We have apprehended the driver of the truck, whose name is Lawrence Nwaodu, 45 years. The four vehicles involved have been taken to LASTMA office, while calm has also returned in the area"

Sports"Ethiopia Were Cheated Against Nigeria"- Ethiopia Head Coach by marshborn(op): 7:39am On Nov 17, 2013
Coach Sewnet Bishaw insists Ethiopia were "cheated" in their 2-0 World Cup play-off defeat to Nigeria, with a number of penalty shouts for his sides waved away.

A penalty to Victor Moses and Victor Obinna's late goal handed Nigeria a 4-1 aggregate win and booked the Super Eagles a place in Brazil.

Moses' spot-kick also came under dubious circumstances after Aynalem Hailu appeared to accidentally handle the ball in the area.

It was Ethiopia's own appeals that had Bishaw most irate, although he was quick to praise opposite coach Stephen Keshi.

"I respect Keshi; he has done a good job organising this team," Bishaw said. "But the ref cheated us. We had two penalties denied us. And then he awarded one wrong one to Nigeria. That penalty to Nigeria affected the tide."

PoliticsGovernor’s PA Slumps To Death After Being Told EFCC Was Coming For Him by marshborn(op): 8:22pm On Nov 16, 2013
A personal assistant to the Kebbi State governor unexpectedly slumped to death on Thursday in Birni Kebbi, allegedly after getting signals that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was closing in on him in respect of a N3billion fraud in the accounts of the state government.

Aminu Gwandu, was due for burial yesterday according to Islamic rites.
However, his death did not stop the commission from arresting the state’s Accountant-General, Mr. Dan Atto in connection with the matter.
Atto was taken to Abuja for interrogation.

Atto was invited by the EFCC to throw light on the alleged diversion of the N3 billion into private accounts.

It was learnt that the late Aminu Gwandu was apparently scared stiff by signals that he too might be invited by the agency, especially the stigma that goes with such interface with the anti-graft agency.

A source said the development was said to have hit him like a thunderbolt. His health soon deteriorated and he slumped.

He died before he could get medical assistance.

The Accountant-General of the state, who initially appeared at the EFCC’s office in Kano, reported again yesterday.

He was immediately arrested and whisked to Abuja for interrogation.

A source in EFCC, however, said: “There was no incident relating to the EFCC on the appearance and arrest of Atto.

“We are investigating alleged laundering of N3billion which we have traced to some accounts. We are quizzing many suspects including the Accountant-General, Atto.

“After reporting in Kano, our men picked him up for a comprehensive grilling in Abuja.”

The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said Atto was in “EFCC custody to clarify some issues.”

Goveror Saidu Usman Dakingari could not be reached for his reaction last night.

HealthSAD: Meet 19-year Old Girl “jacqui Beck” Who Has No Womb Or Vagina by marshborn(op): 6:25am On Nov 15, 2013
A teenager has spoken of her ‘total shock’ at being told at the age of 17 she had no vagina. Jacqui Beck, 19, has MRKH ( Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser syndrome) , A rare syndrome which affects the reproductive system – meaning she has no womb, cervix or vaginal opening.
She was only diagnosed after she went to her GP about back pain ~ and mentioned in passing that she hadn’t started her periods. Tests revealed her condition and that where her vagina should be, there is simply an ident, or ‘dimple’ – meaning she is unable to have sex or carry her own child. Women with the condition appear completely normal externally ~ which means it is usually not discovered until a woman tries to have sex, or has not had her first period.
Miss Beck, from the Isle of Wight, admits when she was first diagnosed, she felt ‘like a freak’.
‘I’d never considered myself different from other women and the news was so shocking, I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
‘I was sure the doctor had got it wrong, but when she explained that was why I wasn’t having periods, it all started to make sense.
‘She then explained that I would never be able to carry a child and might have to have surgery before I could have sex.
‘I left the doctors in tears ~ I would never know what it was like to give birth, be pregnant, have a period. All the things I had imagined doing suddenly got erased from my future. ‘I was really angry and felt like I wasn’t a real woman any more.’ Because she had never attempted to have a physical relationship, Miss Beck had never noticed the problem herself. Had she tried, she would have discovered it was impossible for her to have sex.
She said: ‘It wasn’t really a conscious decision not to have a boyfriend, I just didn’t really fancy any of the boys in my area, which is lucky, considering what I know now’.
MRKH affects one in 5,000 women in the UK. Most discover they have the condition because they haven’t started their periods, but some find out when they struggle to have intercourse. “Miss Beck explained she has a ‘dimple’ where her vagina should be so from the outside it looks normal ~ which explains why the condition wasn’t detected earlier.
Despite the shocking news, she is trying to see her condition in a positive light – and even as a way of making sure she meets the right man.
She said: ‘If he has a problem with it, then he’s not the kind of guy I want to go out with.
“‘I’m a hopeless romantic and I see it as a great test of someone’s character. Instead of focusing on it putting off men, I actually think it will help me find, “the one”. I want to be upfront with any men I meet and tell them straight away about my condition. I don’t want them to feel tricked into being with me. I will feel more comfortable if they know the truth and besides, if they run at the mention of MRKH then I don’t want to be intimate with them. She says that as a teenager, she was blissfully unaware of her condition – with no idea that the development she was waiting for would never happen.
“”When I was 14, my friends started talking to me about their periods. They started carrying tampons around, complaining about cramps and sharing notes on what it was like. For a year I waited to go through the same, until at 15, everyone I knew had started their period apart from me. I didn’t panic though, I’m tall and skinny and thought that might be something to do with me being a late developer.’
Instead, she focused on her future and when she was 17, applied to attend a music college in Guildford.
But after suffering from pain in her neck in summer 2012, she went to see her GP.
‘While I was there, I mentioned I hadn’t started my period yet. I still wasn’t overly worried but I thought it was worth saying something
‘My doctor was very surprised but didn’t seem to think it was serious. He just suggested that he would do some scans to see what the problem was.’ When scans showed nothing, she was referred to a gynaecologist, who immediately spotted something was wrong.
Miss Beck said: ‘My other scan results had been sent to her and just from looking at them, she knew I had MRKH.
‘She sat me down and basically explained that I didn’t have a womb, or a vagina, that I was born without them and instead just had a small dimple in it’s place.’ So mortified by what she had heard, she was too embarrassed to admit to family and friends she had the condition – let alone the prospect of telling any future boyfriends.
She said: ‘I was too embarrassed to call my mum and talk it through with her, so instead, I sent her an email. ‘She called straight back and came over to Guildford the next day from the Isle of Wight. ‘Although mum was upset for me, she tried to focus on finding out as much about the condition as possible, so we could understand it.
‘She also encouraged me to focus on the bright side. We laughed as we listed all the things I wouldn’t have to go through, period cramps, childbirth, smear tests – to try and look on the bright side.’
Focusing on her treatment, Miss Beck was admitted to the Queen Charlotte and Chelsea Hospital in London, which specialises in the condition. There, she was given dilation treatment, which involved using different sized dilators to try and stretch her vaginal canal – but was told if it didn’t work, she would have to be operated on.
She said: ‘I spent two days there, getting taught how to use the dilator and learning more about MRKH.
‘The first time the nurse showed me how to use a dilator I nearly died of embarrassment. But now I’ve got used to it, I see it as any other form of treatment.
‘At the hospital, they referred me to a network of other women who have the same condition. It was great to speak to other girls who felt like me.‘I stopped feeling so lonely and it also gave me hope as I spoke to women who had gone on to have a full sex life.
’Thankfully, her treatment has worked and if she continues she will not need surgery and when she chooses to, will be able to have intercourse. Further down the line there are more difficult conversations she will have to have to have when she wants to have children.
She said: ‘I’m not at an age when I’m thinking about kids, but I think that will hit me later on. I will use a surrogate, or adopt, but I will have to make sure any guy I meet is ok with that too.
‘Again, I try and take it as a blessing that, unlike woman who discover they can’t conceive when they are already trying for a baby, I have time to get used to the idea. For Miss Beck, her one hope is that the condition becomes more well known, so that other women realise they have it earlier than she did.
‘I had only told five of my best friends, but then I realised it’s not something I should be ashamed of.
‘If I had cancer, or, any other medical issue, people would be supportive. So, I recently came out to everyone on Facebook, telling them about my condition. ‘I was surprised at how positive everyone was, they said I was brave and beautiful, now I wish I had been open about it from the beginning.’
this is so sad

Spain have revealed a brand new kit which they will wear at the World Cup finals next summer.

La Roja have ditched their usual blue shorts and socks in favour of an all-red outfit, causing criticism from those who saw no reason to change from tradition.

The reigning world champions secured their spot in Brazil by topping Group I in Uefa qualification. Check out the new Spain shirt in detail below!

Seeing how sleek the spain jersey looks, I wonder if its the same adidas that makes our jersey here in nigeria that makes theirs.
