MAYOWAAK: The longest consecutive run in the English Premier League is 1,025 minutes by Chelsea’s Peter Cech in the 2004/05 season. The most clean sheets in one EPL season is 24 also by Cech in 2004/05.

Your data is wrong. The EPL record belongs to van der Sar who 1311 minutes without conceeding in 2008/2009.

It must be said however that those two Senegalese players that Lille have are real superb talents! Souare and Gueye - remember those names.

Lille win 1:0. Enyeama now with 1035 minutes and counting! 1,5 games to the Ligue 1 record.

4 games to the European record!

BTW: Enyeama with a MOTM performance to boot!
Sports / Re: Enyeama On The Verge Of Making History by marutimon: 7:46pm On Dec 03, 2013
Enyeama now on 990 minutes and counting... First half Lille vs OM finishes 0:0

That means that Enyeama now has the 2nd longest clean sheet record in Ligue 1 history, beating Sirigu's record of 948 minutes. Still on track for the French record of 1176 minutes. If he survives the next 45 minutes he will have 2 relatively doable games: 9th placed Bordeaux away and 8th placed Bastia at home.

The fact remains that Sirigu is the current holder.
You can make more research.

Gaëtan Huard for Bordeaux in season 1992/1993.
Sports / Re: Vincent Enyeama Gives Performance Of The Season To Stop Falcao & Co by marutimon: 11:12am On Dec 01, 2013
Theben:
Nah, he needs 3 more clean sheets to break the all time ligue one record.

There was an initial mistake in the press reports which credited Sirigu of PSG with the record at 948 minutes, when actually in 1992/1993 the real record was 1176 minutes belonging to Gaëtan Huard). From there the European record is just around the corner, but Enyeama would already have the third best run in Europe (after Edwin van der Sar's 1311 minutes in 2008/2009 and Danny Verlinden's 1390 minutes in 1992).

That means: 2 full games and 52 minutes to hold the French record: Olympique Marseille (H), Bordeaux (A) and Bastia (H) to hold the league 1 record.

Add 2 more games and he has the European record: PSG (A) and Reims (H) (stopping Ibra and Cavani is no mean feat...)

Nonetheless 4 more minutes and Enyeama has the second best run in Ligue 1 history.

Olife: It was remarkable when our National Team's Shot Stopper won the Ligue 1 Player of the Month ahead of Super Zlatan.
With his performance against Valenciennes yesterday which ensured he extended his clean sheet to 10 league 1 matches (though he hast concended in all competition since Nig vS Ethiopia 1st leg in September) and 945 minutes, he his 3mins behind record holder - Salvato Sirigu (The PSG shotstopper).

But this can only be actualize if he again, guides his post jealously against 'Mighty Marseille' come 3rd December.
What do we think?

BTW I wish Enyeama Luck as his current form, if consistent, will definately be a booster for us in Rio de Janerio come 2014.

Actually it turns out the Ligue 1 record is 1176 minutes, Sirigu's 948 minutes is actually the second best.
Sports / Re: Is Vicent Enyeama The Best Goal Keeper In The World? by marutimon: 10:56pm On Nov 30, 2013
True! "record-holder Gaetan Huard, who went 1,176 minutes without conceding for Bordeaux during the 1992-93 season"

Sirigu's run was the second-best. If Enyeama can hold out against OM then he has two easy games before playing PSG away. So here's hoping!

Sports / Re: Vincent Enyeama To Break The Ligue 1 Clean Sheet Record? by marutimon: 10:13pm On Nov 30, 2013
Unlike Sirigu Enyeama didn't have the best defence and midfield money can buy to protect him. He actually saved 2 penalties to achieve this record. That said the two Senegalese players Lille has in their squad are future stars.

945 minutes and counting. Unless marseille score in the next 3 minutes of the next game the record will belong to enyeama. He would need 5 more games to break the european record.

Enyeama with another 45 minutes with a clean sheet... one half to go and the record is almost his... That said the defence has been very helpful - Enyeama has hardly had to make a single intervention.

MAYOWAAK: On two occasions, Amodu was prevented from taking the Eagles to the Word Cup in Japan/Korea 2002 and South Africa 2010.

“It cast a permanent sore in my heart till this moment and I won’t forgive those behind it,” Amodu told The Guardian. “Government will continue to blame itself for being so wicked to me. Instead of showing appreciation, they tagged me a failure despite qualifying Nigeria for the World Cup on two occasions.

“And till this moment, no one has come out to say what they did was wrong. That is wickedness at the highest level. My only consolation is the fact that some right thinking Nigerians still remember me for the good things I did for this nation. God will continue to bless them. I also thank you for your previous write up and this interview (referring to The Guardian).”

855 minutes now...

Vastly underrated. Definitely one of the top 5 keepers in the world. Not recognized as such for one sad, simple reason: he's black and he's African. Much like the great Cameroonian keepers of the 80s they fail to acknowledge the quality right in front of their faces.

Hopefully he goes on to not only break the Ligue 1 record, but also the European record (would need 6 more clean sheets) and that'll force people to notice.

Sports / Re: Manchester City To Sign Kelechi Iheanacho by marutimon: 4:59pm On Nov 26, 2013
Compare that to Success Isaac who signed for Udinese:
“I had to choose Udinese ahead of clubs like Manchester City, Chelsea, and some of the bigger European club that wanted to sign me, because my chance of breaking into the main team in Udinese is greater.

“More so, as a beginner in European football it will be nice to start from a smaller club and from there I can move to a bigger club in the future. But if I begin my football at these big clubs, breaking into the main team will take some time and if I choose to leave then, my value may drop. So, I am very happy with the Italian club.”

Much wiser approach than the Kelechi family. The longer it takes for Iheanacho to break into the first team, the less people will remember how great he was.

What's more: Most likely Man City will have to loan him, because he won't get a working permit for England.

The current record holder is Salvatore Sirigu, who lasted 948 minutes without conceeding a goal from 17th November 2012 to 8th February 2013.

Vincent Enyeama is on track to beat the record with 765 minutes without conceeding, so he manages to keep a clean sheet in the next two games and then hold out for another 4 minutes the record will be his! He next two games are Toulouse (15th) at home and Valenciennes (18th) away, so chances are high.
