Not much ado about Nigerians in footballl, 16/01/2011 Italian League C1 B Juve Stabia - Barletta 1:0 32' Jerry Uche Mbakogu (Juve Stabia) (1:0) |
The Odemwingie goals and assist here. Probably player of the week perfomance by the Nigerian (only competition is Tevez): http://soccerblogvideo..com/2011/01/westborm-3-2-blackpool-odemwingie-great.html Not much to report about otherwise: 16/01/2011 Friendlies FK Haugesund (Norway) - Lov Ham (Norway) 5:0 90' Ugonna Anyora (FK Haugesund) (5:0) |

I never said the revolution is great. I'm just saying it is a big revolution. Out of 20 outfield players from the World Cup Squad only 6 are left in the squad. Of those 6 Adeleye, Echeijile and Obinna were essentially fringe players at the World Cup. How else would you call it if not a revolution? Siasia has not invited 70% of the squad! I too am not a big fan of the Amoebi call-up, but I very much like the rest of the team. |
GOALKEEPERS: Vincent Enyeama (Hapoel Tel Aviv, Israel), Dele Aiyenugba (Bnei Yehuda, Israel) DEFENDERS: Chibuzor Okonkwo (Heartland), Ayodele Adeleye (Metallurh Donetsk, Ukraine),Taye Taiwo (Olympic Marseille, France), Michael Odibe (A. C. Siena, Italy), Olubayo Adefemi(Skoda Xanthi, Greece), Elderson Echiejile (Sporting Braga, Portugal), Joseph Yobo (Fenerbahce, Turkey) MIDFIELDERS: John Mikel Obi (Chelsea, England), Obiora Nwankwo (Inter Milan, Italy),Victor Moses (Wigan Athletic, England), Bartholomew Ibenegbu (Heartland), Olufemi Ajilore (FC Groningen, The Netherlands) FORWARDS: Ahmed Musa (V.V.V. Venlo, The Netherlands), Osaze Odemwingie (West Brom, England), Obinna Nsofor (West Ham, England), Shola Ameobi (Newcastle, England), Emmanuel Emenike (Karaburkspor, Turkey), Peter Utaka (Odense Boldklub, Denmark) Frankly I am surprised with no Kalu Uche or Lukman Haruna, but all in all he brought in all the best defenders (Okonkwo, Adeleye, Adefemi) and all the perspective untried forwards. From the squad at the world cup only 2 GKs, 4 defenders and 2 strikers remain. That means 12 new faces (although Mikel is just coming back to the squad and not a new face). Good to see two local guys (Okonkwo and Ibenegbu). |
Not true. Ronaldinho got almost everything he knows from Okocha, so that makes Okocha the most talented to ever play football ![]() |
I've closely followed football since 1990. But OK. Lets stay with people from the modern days. The following people never were and never will be better than Cristiano Ronaldo (I will omit defenders like Zanetti and GKs like Buffon, as comparing defensive players to offensive players is ridiculous in itself): People on the list that are not and never will be better than CR: Ronaldinho Pavel Nedved Lilian Thuram Marcel Desailly Edgar Davids Luis Figo Xavi Andres Iniesta Luis Suarez On the list the only players still active that were possibly better or better than CR are: Lionel Messi and Ronaldo. And even those two are debatable (as to who is better between Messi and CR the debate is still open). |
CR may not be the best player ever, but he is better than 80-90% of the people on the list. And I hate CR. |

Just look at the replays, no one was treating this seriously, Come on, Kameni was marauding as an attacker in the opponents half ![]() |

A lot of matches not taking place due to the attack of winter in Europe. 18/12/2010 (Saturday) Italian Serie B Varese - Siena 1:0 14' Osarimen Ebagua (Varese) (1:0) Not your typical goal, a backheel lob, see here: http://www.footytube.com/video/as-varese-1910-siena-dec18-68115 Greek Super Liga Kavala - Atromitos 1:1 52' Bartholomew Ogbeche (Kavala) (1:0) Opprtune goal by Ogbeche: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KT0s8lSJZWQ South Africa - Premier Soccer League Moroka Swallows - Orlando Pirates 0:2 41' Ezenwa Otorogu (Orlando Pirates) (0:1) Kuwaiti Federation Cup Altadamon - AlJahra 2:0 ?' Adolfols Prince (Altadamon) (1:0) ?' Adolfols Prince (Altadamon) (2:0) Does anyone recognize Prince from the Nigerian League? I think he is the topscorer in Kuwait. |
Odemwingie has 6 goals and 2 assists. |
16/12/2010 (Czwartek) UEFA Europa League VfB Stuttgart - Odense BK - Denmark 5:1 72' Peter Utaka (Odense BK) (4:1) |
Is this regarding Charles Nwaogu? I'm sorry, but I only know he has 13 goals for the season, but don't have any details. |
Hey The topic of the thread is "Goals from Nigerians all over the world". If you want to comment on how Nigerians are coping in general you should make a separate thread. Additionally thing is that following goals is much easier than following defenders or midfielders. Finding out whether a Nigerian scored a goal is way easier than finding out how well John Doe played in the Austrian League. BTW: Polish League Division 1 (second highest division) Striker Charles Nwaogu (Flota Swinioujscie) has scored 13 goals in 17 games and is the topscorer of the division before winter break. The player could be playing for Lech Poznan in the spring (Lech is the team that are the shock team of the Europa League). |
12/12/2010 Italian Calcio League A 2010/2011 US Lecce - Chievo Verona 3:2 16' Edward Ofere (US Lecce) (1:0) Ofere's third goal of the season, which is quite good given that Ofere has only had a handful of starts. His perfomances of late have made him a starter in the last few games. Greek National League A Ergotelis - Kerkyra 3:0 6' Egutu Oliseh (Ergotelis) (1:0) Greek National League A Xanthi - Kavala 1:1 3' Benjamin Onwuachi (Kavala) (1:1) Swiss Super League FC Grasshopper - FC Basel 2:1 12' Innocent Emeghara (FC Grasshopper) (1:0) 16' Innocent Emeghara (FC Grasshopper) (2:0) Turkey Super Ligi 2 Samsumspor - B.B. Gaziantep 4:0 24' Akeem Agbetu (Samsumspor) (1:0) 68' Simon Zenke (Samsumspor) (4:) Italian League C1 B Juve Stabia - Benevento 2:1 40' Jerry Uche Mbakogu (Juve Stabia) (1:0) |
11/12/2010 (Saturday) Turkey Super Ligi Karabukspor - Antalyaspor 2:0 86' Emmanuel Emenike (Karabukspor) (2:0) Attacking midfielder's Emenike twelth of the season. Goes topscorer all by himself. Given that the Turkish Federation are adamant at having him play for them it's high time Siasia talked to him, before it's too late. Read more about Emenike and his nightmare relations with the NFF here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/9278746.stm Italian Serie B Modena - Varese 0:2 16' Osarimen Ebagua (Varese) (0:1) English League Div. 3 Macclesfield Town FC - Gillingham FC 2:4 33' Adebayo Akinfenwa (Gillingham FC) (1:4) English FA Trophy Sudbury - Hampton and Richmond 1:4 41' Lawrence Yaku (Hampton and Richmond) (1:4) Tunisian League Avenir Sportif de Gabes - Espérance Sportive de Tunis 2:1 64' (pen.) Michael Eneramo (Espérance Sportive de Tunis) (2:1) |
Emmanuel Emenike scores again, not bad for someone who is theorethically an attacking midfielder, 10/12/2010 (Friday) Holland Eredivisie League Heracles Almelo - VVV-Venlo 2:2 90' Uchebo Okechukwu (VVV Venlo) (2:2) |
Actually he scored in the reserves (I believe twice), Always something, |
I agree. Good analysis. Got one goal I missed by Moses Lamidi. However the analysis missed the Emenike goal that keeps him top of the Turkish league scoring list. I found the analysis here: http://www.completesportsnigeria.com/category/eagles-euro-roundup/ |

30/11/2010 (Tuesday) Actually no goals to be mentioned, but I can not omit the fact that Obinna Nsofor had the game of his career. He singlehandedly destroyed Man Utd in the FA Cup (end score 4:0) with 4 assists and 1 wrongfully dissallowed goal, Watch it here: http://www.mysoccerplace.net/video/west-ham-vs-man-united-40 A brilliant game by the Nigerian. |
29/11/2010 (Monday) German Bundesliga 2nd Div. SpVgg Gr. Fürth - TSV 1860 Munich 1:0 27' Kingsley Onuegbu (SpVgg Gr. Fuerth) (1:0) |
