Politics › Re: Biafra: Igbos Una Don Come Again. by marv1: 9:48am On Jun 22, 2015 |
dinachi: I feel a deep sense of grief and bewilderment when I read a lot of misguided comments from my Igbo brothers with some calling for a violent secession from Nigeria. Most of the generation of people making these statement never witnessed the civil war. They did not see first hand the horrors of war. They did not experience the terrific impact of bombs or the loud ear splitting sounds of heavy artillery shells as the explode. Should I talk about the economic impact? How our people were reduced to paupers and had to start from the scratch. How beautiful daughters were forcefully torn from the warm embrace of their families and married off to leprous men in the North just to spite our people. Only a mentally deranged and prone to self destruction individual will ever in his life support a violent secession from Nigeria.
Our problem is not secession. Our problem is learning how to live with other tribes in harmony while doing our businesses. Our focus should be on how to build consensus across the nation for vital political interests.
I laugh heartliy when I see some misguided Niger Delta youths like barcanista and co trying to be clever by half by playing to our sense of entitlement. Speaking from both sides of the mouth about how our people are being pushed aside and marginalized. Yet these are the same people that effectively sabotaged the Biafran struggle under Ojukwu. These are the same people that lead the enemy in through our backyards and betrayed their so called brothers. Now they have started a new song because their brother Jonathan who performed woefully was booted out by majority of Nigerians.
I want us to know sometime that is historical. The moment an attempt is made to secede, the I jaws will immediately turn their backs and negotiate us away to advance their interests. So we will end up alone fighting the whole of Nigeria and loosing again.
When the chips are down, we are always alone.
Another point to consider is that Nigeria has become too intergrated to break up. Almost every family has in laws across their tribe. How will that be handled?
Igbo are the most integrated people in Nigeria with business interests across the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria. Most of our people will become jobless or stay and be killed the moment a secession is declared.
Those who knew the truth will tell you that even inside Biafra there were still serious cases of tribalism and nepotism, even under the revered Ojukwu. That was why ahiara declaration became necessary to tackle these issues.
Finally, we are not ready militarily and would only be engaging in another massive waste of life if we insist on our ways. So my people do not be deceived! Our best and only bet is to remain as law abiding citizens of Nigeria while doing our best to continue to be relevant in the scheme of things. Ka Chineke mezie okwu. God bless u my brother. You have just spoken the truth. Some people will just come online and begin to say trash. Even if Ojukwu happens to be alive today and being asked if he would lead his people for another secessation. He will say NO because of the bad experience he had even from his people. |
Politics › Re: Biafra: Igbos Una Don Come Again. by marv1: 9:32am On Jun 22, 2015 |
brize: How i wish Biafra can just happen peacefully, but the problem of we igbos is that we dont know the stand of our governors and senators and other political personalities, and that is really weaking our trust that we would have showered towards one well known and anoited person......
The problem with Nigeria is they will never listen to your pleas and requests until you do it forcefully and violently, after many years of war, nothing good has been built over here(in terms of FG projects) in the SS/SE how then will you prove that there was no victor and no vanquished?? why will a government claim that it care for a region which has been clamouring for self freedom for years but yet no attention has been given to them, that same region has lowest number of state in this country, why will they be happy?? Why on earth will they feel among??, they have contributed immensely for the success of this country, Nollyword na dem start am, Azikiwe(though he was the one that trapped us here) but was really the front fighter in the colonial era..... Oil and business are mostly from that region, they have accommodated many tribes in their region without fighting anyone(cos they see everyone as important in one way or the other), but are been fought here and there all through other tribes(because they establish and try there possible best to live comfortable anywhere they are) this are tribe who see theirselves as semi-god and its inborn, you cannot do anything about that and that made them see others not worth dinning with......they dont believe in something that does not work or even walk(just like Nigeria is faulty and crippled) They called for self freedom but they are been denied and abandoned......... Why wont they clamour for freedom and hope to be heard........... I pray that this freedom will be gotten freely and peacefully.......... AMEN This is where u get it wrong again. Why should u be clarmoring for more states. If we dont have more states like other region, is it the creation of more states that will bring better life. The answer is NO. Some of this present state govts cant even generate revenue for their states and that is why they are owing civil servants. So lets begin to shout and put actions to it, that these govors must be accountable and responsible and not creation of states. Even if Nigeria breaks into 100 places or states what is on ground is what will be obtainable becos of our value deficit. |
Politics › Re: Reason Why Buhari Is Blocking DSS From Aso Rock by marv1: 6:46pm On Jun 21, 2015 |
This is very serious DSS wants to be monitoring asso villa. GEJ cant pretend he doesn't know what he is doing by using wrong people around him, people of questionable character. I dont know why he always gives sensitive posts to women that do not merit it. I dont blame him because he is just the luckiest president in nigeria who never earn it. Thats why he could use over #12billion to maintain more than 10 presidential planes in a year. What a waste? |

Sincere4u: The Military is to blame. They removed what once was to establish what favoured a central looting process. With the Northern states running Almajiri governments (relying entirely on federal allocations and putting nothing in the national treasury, as i heard), reverting to a federal system of government won't be easy cos the North won't want to see that happen. For how long are u going to blame the military. If our so-called leaders are responsible i dont think there would be military intervention.I still hold these governors responsible . Look at the way they live reckless lifestyles. We must begin to hold these pple responsible or else even when we start fed system of govt it wont change anything. The cabals will always be there because they have the money and influence. Thats why we need a strong-willed leader that will lead by example. |

Neyoor: What inspired me most in this article was the part that read...... "#3-1pound"
So, 3naira was once equivalent to 1pound in the past. God is wonderful! Is this still possible in Nigeria ?
Well, Buhari already promised #1-1$
Wait o! How many ex-gfrnds belongs to FANI-KAYODE ? Bianca Ojukwu, Yemisi Wada.......... Well, Fani kayode is loquacious and has a sugar coated mouth, I don't blame those cute ladies for falling for his plights. You must be an indomie child and lots of other nairalanders not to know that naira was once that good then. |

meracool: NNPC is just too shady for this reason GEJ did nothing to the refineries
All he gave us were all scam Oil Subsidy, green fields refinery etc....
If GEJ was the winner of the election NNPC will still maintain that the refineries will work in 2016. U have said my mind. GEJ would be doing turn around maintenance till 2019 if he had won. |

donphilopus: I'm not saying Tinubu controls all the blocs. But outside his Southwest' stronghold, he controls a reasonable number of blocs. The Benue APC groups are always with Tinubu, there are still some blocs loyal to him in Edo, some Northerners who do not want Atiku albeit not loyal to Tinubu, would prefer to go with Tinubu. No need of argument, let's just see how it plays out. One thing I'm so sure of, is that with Akande on the race, Atiku should step down or face humiliation just like the Presidential Primaries! You made a valid point. Atiku can not be trusted by his own people. Lets see how it plays out. |

jadajada: Ok. Buhari need not build schools anymore, all we need is prison - prison. Dont forget no nigerian law can jail all these criminals because they know the loop holes of such existing laws. That is why such cases like this always drag in court for long. The more u steal from govt, the less ur purnishment in nigeria, all those criminal laws must be reviewed and ammended because they are not doing us any good. Rather it encourages more corruption. It favours the rich more than the poor. |

Yes he left pdp for apc while in office but was there any election involved to the extent of robbing his colleages their rights. odeotito: A few questions beg for answers from her. One, why did she go to court to aid her refusal to appear before the National Assembly who in pursuit of their legislative oversight functions requested that she appear before it to make necessary clarifications concerning the running of NNPC and missing oil revenue? Two, how does she respond to PWC damning comments in their forensic audit report to the effect that the NNPC was not forthcoming on its financial details so the forensic audit can be worth the while? Three, how come the NNPC had such a high turnover of GMDs during her tenure? Let's stop at those three questions. God bless u jare. She thinks nigerians are dummy. May be she has 4gotten all these her actions. Make she come back and answer all these. By the time they drill her with questions she go know say cakky no be leather.
