Sowore owns an international media organization which makes it difficult for the government to keep him in detention for too long. To also think that the organization is based in the US puts a lot of caution on the Nigerian government. A mere activist without an established press channel to strengthen his voice would not be walking free like Sowore. Dude planned his venture very well. ![]() |
Omo, this is heartbreaking. And when you think your cross is the heaviest, then you see your neighbor's own. ![]() |
franklytru:Most freedom fighters usually turn out to be worse than the dictators they fought to overthrow. It's a human thing. Kanu will be worse than any Nigerian president dead and alive if he got to lead Biafra. Someone that talks rashly, decides erratically, acts aggressively like a mentally unstable patient. I pity his supporters. May GOD grant their wish. ![]() |
Namaster:Wannabe dictators are always scared of opposing views. I know you want it banned so that you can have a propaganda republic where only the government decides what we watch, read and listen to. The myopia of dictatorship will not let you realize that these platforms facilitate the growth and spread of many businesses. No, you can't see it from any other angle beside politics. Wannabe dictator, cowardice personified. Go sleep jor! ![]() |
You be wan beat GOD'S covenant child, wey come get nuclear weapon join? ![]() |
Immatex:He just wants attention. What he is asking for is even outrageous. Who lends 12 billion Naira to a random letter-writing individual? To add to it, he might be mentally unstable. ![]() |
Quite sad for a father to lose a child. But if your papa na politician, or loaded businessman, try dey pray o. If you don't know how to pray, look for a sound church where grace can cover you. Many of these men subscribe to covenants and altars that usually require subscription once in a while. Just my little piece of insight. Altars and covenants must chop something. ![]() |
CoronaVirusPro:Stop this ascription of overestimated political intelligence. Be thankful that it didn't happen. I am glad it didn't anyway. Military rule is a lawless system where a few individuals become the law and the supposed order. Only those who probably were unborn or too young to understandably witness military administrations will think the uniform guys are better. If they took power, we won't be on this forum expressing divergent political opinions without fear of disappearing mysteriously. No matter what, I will always pray against a military rule. Na small children dey think say military dictatorship na fun. Make una ask una papa how far that year. Many didn't know how incapacitated President Buhari felt as a civilian leader. Dude wished it was 1984 when he could act unilaterally, arbitrarily and ruthlessly. That's why he struggled to govern as a civilian leader. He saw being a civilian president as bound in shackles. Thus he grew aloof and let things run anyhow. Military dictatorship doesn't belong in this age. |
Toruibestate:I was expecting to read something more revealing and not some watery rubbish. Oga, shift jor! ![]() |
makavalley:To rest is to accept cheap death. Nobody rests in the valley of death where Israel finds itself. Israel must fight on to stay alive. ![]() |
blackgold2018:If you won one election legitimately, unless you performed terribly, you don't fear the next election. Most of the governors are performing abysmally, that's why they are bowing to FG pressure to change party. We now have the worst set of governors since this democracy restarted. Zero charisma, zero leadership, zero guts, zero weight. As terrible as some former governors, you will never be able to threaten guys like Amaechi, El Rufai, Wike, Oshiomhole, Kwankwaso, Ajimobi, Obaseki to decamp. Not having these kinds of governors at all now is damaging our democracy. There should always be governors that have the guts to challenge FG policies. Otherwise, everything will be one-way destruction. FG is on a freeway, and there is no governor courageous enough to challenge him openly. Too bad. |
PapaNnamdi:Na only Nigerian movies and skits you fit watch fully for YouTube chief. No foreign movies there. Anything displaying foreign movies na useless reviews. ![]() |
blackgold2018:You are bold when you win elections cleanly and clearly. He knows he has the people's support. In fact such states are no-go areas for federal might. Na who nor win elections dey fear, especially those who were assisted by the courts. |
To fix any country's infrastructure, the government must resist emotional manipulation. We cannot have a developed nation if people are allowed to put up structure just anywhere and anyhow. Go to some areas around the country and you would see how horribly unplanned they are. These are going to be disaster areas in the future. Beside natural disasters like flood, these unplanned areas would become inaccessible and cut off from government's physical presence thereby leaving them at the hands of gangs and bandits to exercise rule. This is something Wike is trying to reverse in Abuja. A nation's capital should not be littered with shanties. |
thesicilian:The correct perspective I expected to read. It's really sad. A dominant foreign retail outlet is never good for local businesses. |
abhosts:If we had any Nigerian leader with this kind of mentality, our country will not be as horrible as it looks today. A homeowner has the right to determine whom he lets into his home. Go fix your home and set your rules! Do you think most of our people abroad are enjoying a joyride? They only remain there because of the horror your leaders have created at home. Quit blaming others. This country is in ruins! So you expect him to let those who destroyed their countries come to the US and replicate the same? You are a joke! Open border is what is ruining Northern Nigeria currently. Haven't you heard that most of the bandits are not Nigerians? But they keep letting them in unchecked. No country becomes great by being nice. |
Botragelad:Liberals will eventually destroy Western Europe. Soon they will be slaves in their own countries. |
Mrfixitt:Blame PDP for being unable to put their house in order. PDP currently has no national leadership. If a crisis erupts in your state now as a PDP governor, there will be nobody to run to for help. Look at how PDP failed to stand by Fubara. Every wise governor just has to align to the ruling party to feel safe. At least Atiku and co can now bury the remains. |
The entire EU cannot stop Israel let alone Spain. Spain and co should better channel their energy to stopping Russia's invasion of Ukraine. I know the sissies are waiting for daddy Trump as usual to help them put pressure on Russia. ![]() |
Chucks13:What committee are you talking about? This list would not get presidential approval without the legal and security inputs of the following: 1. The Attorney General's office. 2. The DSS. 3. The Police. 4. The Ministry of Interior. 5. The Prisons. So to think that a committee throws some list at the president and he signs just like that is a naive opinion. Mind you, this is not an overnight task. You are looking a tedious exercise that likely kicked off at the beginning of the year. And I hope you know that there certainly a difference between what the committee recommended and what the president signed eventually. The agencies mentioned above... |
bewla:Very valid observation. The people, the government and the media are all doing a form of damage to this country. |
Sundaymessi:Let me educate you for free. 1. Hamas will no longer lead Gaza. 2. Israel demystified Iran during the war. 3. Iran's nuclear program that most Western countries were too afraid to attack got destroyed by Israel. ![]() 4. Hezbollah was effectively dismantled. 5. Qatar is no longer a safe haven for Hamas members. Israel made sure it sent that clear message to Qatar by attacking their homeland. ![]() 6. Over 55 percent of Gaza is henceforth under Israeli military occupation. Read up the deal. 7. For Netanyau, it wasn't about returning the hostages. It was all about the six points mentioned above. Go watch the last press conference he held with Trump in Washington. He told everyone present that if Hamas breached this deal, "We will finish off the job." Let this clear your doubts. Netanyau has Gaza, Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran in a chokehold. Extremists don't know who they are dealing with. Even Trump is careful in dealing with him. Bibi is brutal and ruthless, Trump knows. Mark my words, even with this deal in place, every Hamas member penned down for elimination will not be spared. Peace is only returning to Gaza, not to those wanted Hamas commanders. ![]() |
osuofia2:You are very wrong. Wike needs Tinubu. Tinubu is not Jonathan who didn't know the scope and might of his office. If you are talking in respect of 2027 presidential elections, except GOD Almighty, Tinubu has the yam, the knife, the pot and the fire. He just needs the seating governors to run along. That's all! |
Lanretoye:When a snake can no longer find enough chicken eggs to swallow, it devours its own. I hope this helps. ![]() |
Very scanty news story. What was the worth of it? In which part of the state? Who sold it to 'him'? And not to forget that this Edo state governor hardly gets his facts right. I will just take this as one of his numerous unverifiable claims. Another optical performance by a non-performing governor. ![]() |
simpleseyi:I didn't expect anything better. Nor be you again? There are hijab-wearing schools around, let her go there. Extremists are never satisfied. Always wanting to break institutional laws to satisfy their extremist appetite. Isn't Nigeria a secular state? Aren't there Islamic schools she could easily be enrolled in? Troublemakers, that's what you guys are. Thank GOD for Israel, the antidote to Islamic extremism. |
One of Buhari's greatest mistakes was failing to finish off this Kanu issue. Atiku and the likes should be sat down and allowed to watch and listen to Kanu's mad speeches against the state and other tribes, including churches. Someone who called for the burning of churches, killing of other tribes and rebellion against the state. After being released on bail then, we saw how he went rogue again. The SE was a business destination before Kanu turned it into a blood field with his war rhetorics. Monday business is completely ruined in the SE because of this outlaw. If Obj was in charge, Kanu would long have gotten the Hamas treatment. President Tinubu should not fall for these foolish protests. The state of our security is bad enough! Are there not more important issues to protest about? Tinubu has rolled out countless anti-people policies in the past two years, not once was Atiku seen protesting. Why is this potentially anti-state issue his choice? All because of Eastern votes, not because he cares about the country. That's why Atiku will never be president of Nigeria. He has proven again and again that he is a terrible leader with a very poor sense of judgement. |
If I were Netanyau, I would have given them the ICE treatment before deporting them in horrible conditions. Let terrorists invade your country, murder 1200 citizens as well as abduct thousands more if you would embark on this stupid misadventure. I know this war isn't over. Netanyau just wants those beastly Hamas leaders to come out of hiding so that Mossad can finish off the job. There will be a ceasefire, no doubt. However all the vicious beasts pinned down for elimination will not be spared. |
FIRDAUS3:Wait until you are caught in the middle of this jungle night raid as an innocent guest in an ill-fated hotel. Your myopic views will never remain the same, I can guarantee you. |
helinues:Judge wisely, do you think his monthly media chat helps the presidency? The Tinubu I know is too tactical to let Wike continue this media madness. Soon Wike is going to say what he shouldn't. I don't even know how some of you got involved in politics. Talking is not Tinubu's thing, and that's why he has been successful in politics. Learn from him. Wike is hurting him with his shabby media outings. |
Hamas just sacrificed over 60 thousand Palestinians, Iranian generals, the entire Hezbollah leadership plus their own leadership because they thought they could prove a point. Mark it, this is not the end of this war. Israel is not obligated to withdraw its troops from Gaza yet. They will maintain a military front line covering over 55 percent of Gaza. Beside this, Hamas will not be allowed to govern Gaza ever again. The deal is to allow their trapped fighters exit Gaza safely without being killed. I know Israel will still go after its leaders. The ones Israel has marked will not be spared. It is a huge loss for Hamas and Palestinians. Tony Blaire will be the new head of Gaza area. I am stating the terms of the deal so that Nairaland Hamas wing can decide rationally whether the celebration is worth it. ![]() |
