This ignorant Igbo girl opened her dirty mouth and was like " man its dem yorubas"(not knowing the teacher lived in Nigeria). Its 5 Nigerians in the class 3 Yorubas 1 edo and the igbo gal. The expression on everyones face was like what the hell is the fool yarning about.
The teacher (black american) said he lived in Nigeria for 15 years from the 80's to early 90's, he lamented "How can a yorubas be the cause of Nigerias woes when there has only be 1 Yoruba presidency OBJ". He further gave accounts where prominent yoruba leaders were assassinated when ever they opposed military regimes. He also added how can any ethnic group cause the problem in Nigeria when everyone is governing their state of origin(it doesnt get any more equal then that). He said imagine if yorubas werent in Nigeria, who would be an actual formidable opposition? because so far many if not all of the people assassinated in Nigeria were of Yoruba ethnicity not to mention the Soyinkas and co, who dont only defend their tribe but the interest of all Nigerians.

While everyone was being quiet in Nigeria( if they didnt run away) its no doubt the leaders of yoruba ethnicity have been at the forefront of opposition in terms of Nigerias interest.

anyway how you see it, if someone is mentions Nigeria in a negative way its a yoruba like Obj(the SAME person flogged over and over again) but if someone talks about Nigeria in a positive way its Fela,Soyinka,Fashola and co,
I cant think of any other tribe who has defended the interest or recognized the work of others besides their own.

No doubt others may leave Nigeria or Africa and make a name for themselves but when the words Africa or Nigeria comes to mind Soyinkas and Felas ARE NEVER LEFT OUT.
I dont have time to blame poblems in the West on people from the North, East or South South, it just doesnt make sense. smh

Why are we ignoring the fact that emergency services are really not the business of private hospitals.Has any body been turned away from a government facility for lack of police report. Private hospitals are set up to provide a livelihood for the proprietor. In Nigeria they are taxed like any other business, pay nepa bills and fuel for their generators, staff are paid salaries or do nurses and secrity men work for free. (Edo state in fact wants them to py at least (N300,000) per annum as tax alone). The one part of medicine which governments are actively involved in all over the world is emergency care. If a private clinic has a serious emergency that requires surgery who bears the cost of care. Will the doctor from his pocket pay for anaesthesia, an anaesthetist or a surgeon if he is not one.
Even LUTH had a problem some years back with emergencies that came in used supplies PAID for by other patients and when the patients who paid came for surgery they had to be turned back due to lack of materials to operate, since they had been used maybee overnight and no funds supplied to replace them. the annoying thing was that many refused to pay when they recovered.
The most that can reasonably be done on humanitarian grounds in most Private hospitals is to stabilize the patient and send them to a government hospital. Private clinics owe no obligation to provide free service, that is the job of the government whom you pay your tax to.
People should hold governments resposible (if you pay tax) and stop making doctors the scape goats.

Matrim honey, it is not your right anything. Maybe if you are a doctor in Naija, you can do anything you want because no one cares. I cannot speak for other countries but in the US your license will be either be suspended, revoked or you'll go to jail. You cannot play ten-ten with people's lives here. A place where you DARE NOT pass an accident victim on the road if you are a Doctor or nurse. If you don't want to do your job as a medical doctor especially when you are qualified to do so, that's dangerous. Technically, you are a hazard to the field.
