A mother woke up in the night to find her 14-year-old son raping her, a court heard. Initially she thought it was a dream, but after realising the "enormity of the situation" she began screaming. Her teenage son, who is on medication for ADHD, had been having behavioural problems in recent weeks, Preston Crown Court was told. For some years he had been in the habit of climbing into bed with his mother, but the boy - from Blackpool and now aged 15 - denied a charge of rape. Francis McEntee, prosecuting, told the court: "The allegation in this case is that the defendant raped his mother while she was asleep. The factual basis of this case is that he was in his mother's bed. "The issue is not any assertion of consent, or belief of consent. It is the prosecution's assertion there was penetration and the defendant's denial of that allegation". The prosecution said the woman had been asleep before waking and realising the "enormity of the situation, that her son was in the process of having sex with her". He added: "The defendant's account is that his bed was uncomfortable, there was damage to the bottom sheet, so he had gone in and lain in bed with his mother. "You will hear his acknowledgement that his mother was naked, bar the brief underwear and you will hear his admission that she lay on her side and he was lying with his arm around her. "The prosecution would invite you to say he was hoping to seek to try and provide an innocent explanation for his presence in the bed. "Whether driven by drink or some other issue, perhaps because he had had drink, he climbed into bed with his mother". In her police interview - which was taped and played in court, the woman said she was "trembling from the inside" after the alleged attack. The teenager, who cannot be identified, left the courtroom while the interview was played.... Judge Pamela Badley explained to the jury he did not want to be present during the interview and that she had given him permission to leave. Speaking of what happened, the woman told police: "I just know when I opened my eyes he was there. I don't even know what I said. He scuttled out of the room and didn't say anything. "I just sat there holding my covers, screaming and thinking 'what the hell's just gone on?' "All sorts was going through my head. Is he just sleepwalking? "Does he know what he is doing? Is he aware? Now I am actually thinking what state is he in? Does he know what he has done?" The mother told investigators that her son had had issues for a long time. She described her last 18 months with him as being an "absolute nightmare". She told police: "He's really aggressive towards me, throws things and hits me with things like slippers and cushions. Only two days ago I got cut. This is me trying out [sic] ground him and instil some punishment for the way he has been. "I am concerned for my son, more concerned about what would happen to him." The trial continues. |

Mississippi – A 76-year-old woman has created controversy yesterday, by breastfeeding her 42-year-old son in the middle of a KFC restaurant. Many customers of the fast food joint would of complained about the incident and prompted Linda Berrety and her son, Michael, to leave the establishment. Both finally got expelled. This unusual episode has sparked strong reactions on social medias and provoked a huge debate on the limits of breastfeeding in public places, while many customers present at the time of the event seem to have seen a gesture of sexual nature and incest, rather than a gesture of maternal concern. “What in God’s name was that?” claims Ali Belfouz, a customer who witnessed the whole scene. “I have nothing against breastfeeding, but that was pure nonsense. I felt like if I was watching some fetish type of Indecency. You have to be insane to breastfeed your child at that age. They should of got arrested for gross indecency rather then getting expelled.” “It’s my right as a mother to breastfeed my child,” says Mrs. Berrety. “If people don’t agree with the way I raise my son, that’s their problem. I have raised a great man, beautiful, tall, who still lives and stays with me. I think I’ve done a great job as a mother and don’t appreciate getting insulted and expelled just because I decided to breastfeed my child a little longer than other mothers.” http://newswatch28.com/expelled-from-kfc-for-breastfeeding-her-42-year-old-son/

Our sources said the soldiers arrived around 4.45 p.m. in a white Hilux van led by one Captain Sene. “They [soldiers] arrested one of the members of our group who told them that the area was a restricted residential area, not meant for passage of vehicles,” one source, who belongs to the Islamic sect, told SaharaReporters. He added that, when they finally released the detained member, Captain Sene shot three other members at close range as he and his troops left the area. One of the victims reportedly died, while two sustained serious injuries, our sources claimed. One sources added that some soldiers in another Hilux van marked Operation Yaki took a strategic position at the roundabout leading to the Markaz. “I went to the soldiers and demanded to know what lead to the shooting, but they said nothing happened,” one source disclosed. He added that he asked to speak with the troops’ commander, to which the soldiers replied, “You cannot speak with anyone.” Our sources identified the dead member as Umar Abubakar, identifying the injured members as Sani Yusuf, Auwal Ahmad, Lado Abubakar and Ayyuba Jibril.

Reuters poll shows Muhammadu Buhari in lead with more than 14 million votes as counting for presidency draws to a close. Nigerian opposition contender Muhammadu Buhari, a former general who first won power three decades ago in a military coup, is closing in on a historic election victory, maintaining a hefty lead in the vote count for the presidency. According to a Reuters tally collated from 33 of Nigeria's 36 states, the 72-year-old had more than 14 million votes, testament to the faith Nigerians have put in him as a born-again democrat intent on cleaning up Nigeria's corrupt politics. Incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan, whose five years in office have been plagued by corruption scandals and an insurgency by Boko Haram fighters, has so far taken 11 million votes. The vote sees an electorate divided along a complex mix of ethnic, regional and in some cases religious lines.. To win the election, a candidate needs to win more than 50 percent of the total votes nationally - and take at least 25 percent of the vote in two thirds of the states. One of Jonathan's big support bases, in the oil-producing Niger Delta, is yet to declare its results, but the gap is so large that most analysts said it was impossible to see the leader of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP) closing it. Despite glitches that saw some voting extended into a second day, and the killing of more than a dozen voters by Boko Haram fighters in the northeast, the election has been the smoothest since the end of military rule in 1999 - a factor that appears to have playedn a part in the outcome. "There are probably lots of reasons why the PDP might have lost, but I think the key one is that the elections just haven't been rigged," said Antony Goldman, a business consultant with high-level contacts in Nigeria. "If you leave it to the Nigerian people they will be ready to make big decisions and to make Nigeria look something more like a conventional democracy. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2015/03/buhari-closes-historic-win-nigeria-election-150331113051821.html The vote sees an electorate divided along a complex mix of ethnic, regional and in some cases religious lines

You do not need to be smart to become a pastor—and even the dumbest can be good at requesting money from people in the name of God. This story teaches on a lot but it also illustrates that, most of these men of God are never what they claim to be—and it’s good the law does not care either you are a pastor or a bishop. A Ghanaian pastor who walks about with 3 names-Samuel Akoto, David Antwi and David Krumah and used to reside at Jeremy Street, Edmonton in North London was sentenced to 5 years early this month for identity fraud at the Isleworth Crown Court .picture of the court or tribunal building Until his conviction, he was the sole pastor of Mount Zion Prayer House Ministries (UK) with registered charity number 1153088. He was known to his congregation as Pastor David Kwaku Antwi and he introduced himself as such on local radio station (Sources radio) where he preaches to the Ghanaian community. The pastor who is currently being held at the Wormwood Scrubs prison was arrested at Heathrow Airport on his way from Ghana. And when asked for his name as part of the usual airport questioning, the paster is reported to have mentioned a different name contrary to what was in his passport (in fact, he mentioned a name he used years ago to claim asylum but was refused). This triggered suspicion and through investigations, it came to light that he was involved in sham marriage with one of his congregants for papers, using the new name he was travelling with. A visit to his home even revealed more as a driver licences bearing his photo and a different Congolese name was also discovered. Now that the fraudulent pastor has been thrown into jail, his church-Mount Zion Prayer House Ministries which is situated at Unit 6, Gourley Place, Seven Sisters, London. N15 5NF, is currently being managed by Mrs Rosemary Felicity Acheampong and her husband Mr Kwabena Nkansah.
