Countries nowadays don't need to be resource rich to be wealthy. There is even a term called the "resource curse."

Brains are the primary source of wealth today. Switzerland, a country of 8million people has no natural resources but has exports of over $200bn. Israel with 10m people and no resources $166bn. Yte, oil rich Nigeria had exports of only $42bn in 2022!

Natural resources aren't the kings they once were.

America's wealth has much greater foundation than Russia. Were the price of crude oil go down to $30 per barrel, it would hit Russia hard. Why do you think the West is targetting Russian oil and gas- because that's the foundation of its economy.

Most of these roles you mentioned were viewed as that of women since time immemorial (just like Men would be expected to do the defending in case of an attack)and they help keep the marriage if played properly but most men tend to be successful on their own before even considering marriage.
