The fourth theory centers on twisted logic and religious delusions.
During testimony, it was revealed that as Lindsay committed the act, she said out loud, "Go to God, baby. Go to God." In similar cases throughout history, parents suffering from deep delusions become convinced the world is too evil and that their children are at risk of suffering. In their broken mind, ending their children's lives is seen as a way to send them straight to Heaven while they are still innocent. So, who actually dropped the bomb?

While the news in the show blamed a war with Iran, Episode 9 strongly hints at something far worse: Stensen and the founders of the Silos caused or triggered the nuclear attack themselves.

Why? Because the Silos weren't just built to save people. They were built to control them. The founders used the fear of total destruction to lock a selected group of survivors underground forever, stripping away their history, their freedom, and their memories so they would never fight back.


Then we get to Bernard's death. Why did he willingly walk outside to clean, and why was blood coming out of his nose?
The toxic gas sprayed in the airlock doesn't just poison the air outside; it rapidly destroys the human respiratory system. That gas causes massive internal bleeding, which is why blood poured from his nose right before he dropped dead.

But Bernard’s walk to his death wasn't an accident. It was a calculated distraction.
While everyone in the Silo—including Judicial and IT—was glued to the screens watching Bernard die, Juliette’s friends were taking action. Bernard’s death gave the rebels the exact cover they needed to set off bombs inside the Silo and destroy the main control systems without being caught.


This leads to Juliette asking repeated questions about why everything is the way it is—just like Bernard did right before he went outside.

Juliette finally sees the bigger picture. The rules, the cleanings, and the lies were all designed by a human operator sitting inside Silo 1. Silo 1 is the master command center controlling all 50 Silos like a giant prison board game.

Everything the citizens believed was a lie. The outside was poisoned on purpose, and their entire life was scripted by people who died hundreds of years ago.

Now that the bomb went off inside the Silo, Juliette’s friends have completely broken the cycle of control. By blowing up the water and gas distribution pipelines, they have forced the hidden leaders out into the open.
The rebels are no longer trying to fix the Silo—they are trying to break the whole system so no one can ever be locked in the dark again.

I want to be precise here: these are charges, not convictions. Both brothers deny the allegations, and UK prosecutors themselves have said publicly that a charging decision is not a finding of guilt — everyone is entitled to a fair trial.

Separately, in Romania, there are ongoing criminal proceedings and investigations involving allegations including human trafficking. Those cases are distinct from the UK charges, and the brothers deny wrongdoing there too.

The UK has now formally requested their extradition from the United States to face those 59 charges. And that's the extradition fight in which this wealth-related filing was submitted.

Here's where it gets genuinely complicated, because three legal systems are tangled together.

The United States is currently holding the brothers in Florida. The court there isn't deciding whether Tate is guilty of anything in the UK or Romania — it's working through the extradition process itself, figuring out whether the legal requirements to hand him over to Britain are actually met.

The United Kingdom wants them extradited to face the 59 charges.

And Romania complicates all of it. Back in 2024, a Romanian court ruled that the brothers could eventually be extradited to the UK — but only after their Romanian criminal proceedings are concluded first. Those proceedings are still ongoing right now.

The Bible says two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah, were wiped out by God because of the wickedness of the people living there. Fire and burning sulfur (brimstone) rained down from heaven, the cities burned to ashes, and Lot's wife was turned into a pillar of salt just for looking back as they fled. For years, many saw this as just a story. But when you actually go to the Dead Sea region today, some strange things show up.

Weird sulfur balls everywhere
Around the south of the Dead Sea, researchers have found round balls of sulfur (brimstone) that are almost 90-100% pure — way purer than sulfur found anywhere else on Earth, which is usually greenish and only 40-50% pure. These balls are so pure you can strike a match and they'll actually burn. Scientists also found thick layers of ash and charcoal in the area, plus strange rock formations shaped almost like collapsed buildings, all made of a material called calcium sulfate — which is exactly what you get when limestone burns at extremely high heat mixed with sulfur.

A city called Tall el-Hammam
Further digging in Jordan uncovered a massive ancient city called Tall el-Hammam — one of the biggest cities in the whole region about 4,000 years ago. It had walls, gates, a palace, and thousands of people. Then, suddenly, it was destroyed. Archaeologists found pottery melted into glass and mud bricks "cooked" at temperatures way hotter than a normal fire. After the destruction, nobody lived there again for 700 years.

The meteor theory
In 2021, scientists proposed that a massive explosion in the sky — possibly a meteor blast — destroyed the city about 3,600 years ago, similar to what happened in Russia's Chelyabinsk meteor event. They believed the blast could have thrown salt across the land, matching the Lot's wife story, and even created a tsunami on the Dead Sea.

Earthquakes and underground gas
Other researchers have a different theory. The Dead Sea sits right on a major earthquake fault line. Underground, there's gas, oil, tar and sulfur trapped beneath salt deposits. Their theory: an earthquake shook the region, released trapped gas, and the gas caught fire — creating an explosive, fast-moving inferno that could easily be mistaken for fire "raining from heaven."

The controversy
The meteor theory got huge attention, but many scientists disagreed with the evidence and calculations. In April 2025, the journal that published the original study retracted it, saying the evidence wasn't strong enough. Some of the original researchers still stand by their work and reject the retraction.
