It denies the deity of Christ, His physical resurrection, and salvation by grace. This alone makes it non-Christian. To support its erring doctrines, the Watchtower organization (which is the author and teacher of all official Jehovah's Witness theology), has even altered the Bible to make it agree with its changing and non-Christian teachings.

Typical with cults that use the Bible to support its position is a host of interpretive errors:
• Taking verses out of their immediate context.
• Refusing to read verses in the entire biblical context.
• Inserting their theological presuppositions into the text.
• Altering the Biblical text to suit their needs.
• Latching onto one verse to interpret a host of others.
• Changing the meanings of words.
• Proclaiming some passages to be figurative when they contradict their doctrines.
• Adding to the Word of God.

Additionally, the Jehovah's Witness organization requires of its members regular weekly attendance at their "Bible Study" meetings where they are repeatedly indoctrinated with anti-Christian teachings. This is done by reading the Watchtower magazine, following along with what it says, reading the questions it asks, and reciting the answers it gives. In other words, the Watchtower Organization carefully trains its members to let the Organization do their thinking for them. The Witnesses are told they will be persecuted when they go door to door teaching their doctrines. They are further told that this is simply the enemy fighting against God's organization because they are in "the truth." So, when someone disagrees with them, they are conditioned to reflect on what the Watchtower has told them. They then feel confirmed in being in God's true organization on earth (like all cults claim). They are strongly encouraged to have friends and acquaintances that are only JW's, thereby keeping outside examination to a minimum. They are told to shun those who leave their group, for in this way there is no way to see why someone has left and no way to find out that they are in error from those who have found the truth in Christ.

They are conditioned to shy away from any real biblically knowledgeable person. An example of this is frequently found on the Internet. I was once banned from a Jehovah's Witness chat room after I not only answered their objections to the Trinity and deity of Christ, but challenged them in return. Subsequently, my name was passed around to all other Jehovah's Witness rooms where I was banned from them as well. This is a frequent occurrence on the Internet where the Jehovah's Witnesses are alive and well. It is obvious that critical examination of their doctrines is not encouraged by the Watchtower Organization.

The Jehovah's Witnesses consider themselves to be Christians because they believe they are serving the true and living God. Like many cults, they think they are the only true church on earth. Yet, they deny the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the personhood of the Holy Spirit, Jesus' physical resurrection, and salvation by grace through faith.

The Jehovah's Witnesses are discouraged from looking into Jehovah's Witness history or old Watchtower literature which is replete with contradictions, altered doctrines, and false prophecies. Instead, they are indoctrinated repeatedly against basic Christian doctrines (Trinity, deity of Christ, etc.) and into the notion that they alone are the true servants of God and that all others are either in "Christendom" or simply unbelievers. tnx for your advice. tnx for also taking your time to go through previous posts despite joining late. u're well informed and am quite impressed. am aware of the whole disfellowship & re-instatement nonsense. she's back to my place now. she arrived last week. before then from what l learnt at counseling, l told her on phone that we will have two weddings same day. one in JW kingdom hall and another at her dad's church. that will make it a balanced equation and people can later converge at the reception. she reacted and expressed a very unusual negative attitude l know was influenced by her mum. she said she would rather break-up with me than accept that. I reported her to her two elder sisters(not JW).  we didnt communicate for four days. she later called crying on phone & apologised.  l forgave her & asked her on phone to give me one good reason why she wants to marry me inspite of the complicated situation. she said she doesnt know. the truth is its so sad that a woman that claim to be engaged will threaten me(her fiance) after l offered an approach from the advice of a pastor. as a true christian, l find it very easy to forgive.

Yesterday we had a long dialogue and l discovered some amazing things. she said she just joined JW 8-years ago meaning she was not raised as a JW. she attended her dad's church prior to this time. she said she got baptised in JW in year 2004. please remember l said her dad is not JW and she lives with her dad. what l want u to understand is that in any relationship, disagreements will lead to arguments and later build up to quarrels. continious or ocassional quarrels will cause tension in the home. and as jesoul said unresolved issues will only grow bigger. this emotional attachment with her mum seems like a covenant and its making me sick. her two sisters are very different. so tell me what should l do as my respect for her has dropped for threatening to break up. so tell me what should l do?

[b]thank you all for all the advice. l really appreciate everyone with ugbo and thehomer too. as u can all see, the issues are with the mothers. the same influence my ex-fiancees mum had on her is what my present fiancee's mum also av on her. so if we get married with this un-resolved issues, she will definately influence our unborn children too in future. mothers spend more time with kids and can greatly influence them especially their female children as they are emotionally weaker than men.

BUT l need your advice once more. please read carefully.

few months ago she had an unusual dream. she saw us getting married in a church setting. all of a sudden, a woman started chasing her in her wedding gown. she ran but eventually the woman caught up with her and dragged her to the floor. as the woman was about to hit her with a long stick, she took a stone & hit on the woman's head. then the dream stopped.

few weeks later, she had another dream and saw her mother fall to the ground as if she fainted. she told me about it fearfully and begged me to pray for her mum which l did in jesus name. l noticed when l said in jesus name, her amen was silent.

l told a pastor about it last week and he said her mum & her relatives that are JW are against our marraige . the pastor also said she edited parts of the 1st dream and l should ask her that who was the woman chasing her in the dream. l did but she said she couldnt recognise the woman. 

Jesoul, l think its better to break up. Even if we ever get married, there a lot of strings attached. Her mother & relatives have been with her longer than l have and they will still have great influence on her. or what do u think.

my ex-fiancée called me last week and she said the igbo guy her mum preferred is threatening to leave her(despite being engaged for a year). I said how does that concern me. She said she still loves me and was hoping if we could get back together.(can u imagine). Actually she fits the standard of the girl I ever wanted. am not making insensitive demands. as u can see from my past posts, she's not a devout JW as she has broken most of their core rules. JW constantly live under FEAR and GUILT of not obeying watch-tower rules and there is no guarantee of salvation. and for your information, the real bible is not mis-guided. JW's bible is. its the new world translation.

av u ever seen a fake N2000 note. the answer is no because it doesnt exist. any fake thing created by man is a confirmation that the original exists thats why other fake naira notes are available. what am l saying?. JW's bible was created from the original true bible. interestingly she knows this but just feels her mum and watch tower cant be wrong. one big mistake l made was to let her get close to my family members. they all love her which makes it difficult for me to break up. they said its a spiritual matter and the connection with her mum can be broken with prayer and fasting. Read my response to JESOUL above. I offered to attend JW with her and she said no… read to see why. (Few months ago, from advice of friends, l told her to take me to JW and she said no. my plan was that we will go to JW this Sunday and the next Sunday we will go to my own church and continue like that just to bring equity. she still said no again. her excuse was that JW members now hate her because she left one of the members she once dated. I then said we should go to another branch of JW and she still said no. hope u can now see what l am dealing with).

Massaging a man’s ego is not a selfish statement, its about positive submission. A man should also massage a woman’s ego. Its vice-versa. Two things make a marriage work. TOLERANCE & ENDURANCE. In real endurance, you’re hoping that the situation will change.  When the situation doesn’t change, TOLERANCE will lead to TRAUMA and create emotional barriers.

You said u are happily married. So your wife doesn’t massage your ego. In any successful marriage, there is the place of the woman & a place for the man. If you are a Christian, you should know that GOD HAS ORDAINED THE MAN TO BE THE HEAD OF THE HOUSE. Being the head means being a LEADER. In actual sense, a good leader is not a BOSS but some one that has great influence on others.

If l am a male chauvinist(as u said), will I iron her clothes despite the notable differences(age, academics, status etc). I also do some others things for her I know some men on this thread can never do for their girl-friend/fiancée/wife.
Moving into my house was temporal & was only during her school session, she still lives with her parents so don’t get it wrong. Every woman loves comfort. I was against it but she persuaded me. I thank God she moved in, if not I wouldn’t have discovered her beliefs.

You don’t have to feel sorry for her. 95% of her family are not JW so why cant she understand my point. Her dad, her two blood sisters, her step mum, her five step siblings all attend a church. Her mum & dad live separately and she lives with her dad. So why cant she bend for me(the one she claims to love). I don’t force women to do things, I persuade and dialogue. Remember I said her mum(a JW) approves of our relationship.
Av dated eleven girls in the past and this is the 2nd time I’m being engaged. The 1st engagement was a tribal issue(Yoruba/igbo case) & threats from my ex’s mum. Despite breaking up, we’re still very good friends. So you can see now that am not a control freak and chauvinist(as u noted).

Yes muslims marry Christians. Av dated muslim girls and if u must know by best male friend is a muslim. If she was a muslim, I  wont bother because its another case. I wont even persuade her to attend a church. Muslims are not extremist like JW except probably Arabs. Remember I said, I didn’t know about her beliefs until she moved in with me(which I was against). What bothers me is the mindset of my unborn children. If I don’t change her now, there is the tendency she will influence some of them. How can we have a happy home if issues like this abound.

If I dont love her. why would l propose to her & still tolerate her. Do u know what I don’t understand. What will happen to her if she goes to church on a sunday. Will she die?
