all4naija: I don't really understand what you are trying to pass across. It's clear Convenant University could be better. Harvard university upgrade the education system and standard every now and then.

Please, spare me this over-exaggeration of the CU standard. I don't think it is in the first 1000 best universities of the world.
Its so weird that u can compare a 10years old university with almighty harvard. Its just so amazing. Sit down and think deeply. To justify your arguement, wouldn't it rather be sensitive to compare covenant with other private universities in africa.

I will say it again, no private university can ever be cheap. Federal universities get funds from the FG so also state universities get funds from state govt that's why state universities are more expensive. Do a research and find out how much lasu, osu and lautech pay as tuition fees.

During obsanjo's regime, UI got N500m every quarter followed by UNN, ABU, Unilag, OAU ife, Uniport, Unilorin and Uniben. These are the top 8 highest earners from the FG. If u doubt it, u can find out from the NUC. So that's why fees of federal universities are subsidised due to FG grant.

At landmark and covenant, school fee covers accommodation and u have uninterrupted water and power supply with maximum security and state of the art library and wireless internet access. What a conducive environment for learning. They've set standards for others to follow so stop the hate and spread the word. Crown university is coming soon

Find out details before u conclude. Even the bible says "my people perish because of lack of knowledge". Go to cannaanland ota, goshen city abuja and other winners base in kaduna, ilorin and portharcourt and discover the companies there. Bakeries, saw mills, hotels, metal plants, bottle water and satchet water factories, printing factory, restaurants, hospitals and Microfinance bank inclusive. Are these not companies and All are creating employment for skilled and unskilled people. Not to mention primary and secondary schools in different states.

Get facts next time oga sir

So from the tone of my voice, u can't decode that am a CU graduate. We're proud eagles oga. We even raise school fees in class for less priviledged friends.

Havin gone through unilag and lautech and graduatn at CU, l know how undergraduates and graduates from federal, state and private universities think. Stop the hate and spread the word. 4-more universities to go. Like l said earlier, its not for everyone and you can apply for the schorlarship package.

acidtalk: And some people who are still struggling to buy JAMB form for their children are still paying tithe.

I was troubled and aexcited at the same time so I had to put a call through to speak to the man of god.

Acidtalk - Congratulations sir on your new University project in Calabar.

MOG - Thank you Acidtalk. God is good.

Acidtalk - Sir, it seems you have lots of interest in the Education Sector and Aviation.

MOG - Well, those are very lucrative businesses which will forever blossom no matter the Economy situation of a country.

Acidtalk - Sir, how affordable would the school be considering the present economy situation in the country.

MOG - Well, Affordable enough for the Elite and Politicians to pay for their children.

Acidtalk - What about the average and below average Nigerians who want quality education in the country?

MOG - Well, God will make a way for them, let them keep praying and fasting.

Acidtalk - But sir, most of these children's parents contributed in paying tithe and offering but can't afford to pay the exhorbitant fees charged in your schools.

MOG - Young man, Bricks, cement and sand weren't given free in the market.

Acidtalk - Sir, can you do the school free for the less priviledged as Jesus would have done during his time?

MOG - Shut up there. One more word from you and I will give you a "Holy Slap"
Answer to your dumb questions.
The less priviledged(if there is really anything like that) can apply to universities they can afford or apply for the scholarship package at covenant or landmark.

"Life is in phases and men are in sizes". That's one of oyedepos quotes. As Private primary and scondary schools are not for everyone, so also are private universities. Whether owned by an individual or a church. Go to ota and see how the area developed just because of covenant. Go to omuaran(a small village in kwara state) and see how the area is fast developing just because of landmark. The same trend happened in ogbomoso and ago-iwoye when lautech and OSU were established. Am sure u know these two state universities l mentioned are also quite expensive.

So If u don't have better things to say or do, l advice u to take your girlfriend out on a date. Mrbiggs or tantalizers will be okay for you since you beef high class people. Msheeeew
buhahahaha grin grin grin

This is a universal principle..! Givers never lack. They keep flourishing..

And did I also say, paying tithes & offerings isn't a must.. Either you pay or not, it changes nothing in his bank account.. paying is for your own good. (you're not helping anyone by paying tithes). If you say you won't pay, praise or serve God, hahaha God will just replace you with stones and grass.

Kingdom Principles & Law of prosperity is at work in the life of this Bishop..
I love him
3gbosa for you sir. Well said. Tithes and offering is a choice and not by force oo. Abeg tell them and educate the bunch of naïve nairalanders. People give "project offering" willingly without complaining. 3 universities, 4 more to go. More jobs for sacked lecturers, more employment for unskilled and skilled individuals, more options for undergraduates to gain admission. More work for plumbers, electricians, bricklayers, engineers, doctors, nurses etc.

to all u haters, if u need admission and u can't afford it, please apply for the "scholarship" package. Tell me what better incentive can they offer than that. No private university can ever be cheap and that depends on what u term as expensive.

Some secondary schools in lagos charge per term what these universities charge per session and some of u are here complaining of high fees. I say it with all boldness and l stand to be challenged. Covenant university is the cheapest and best private university when u compare its facilities as related with other universities in its class.

Christianity EtcWinners Chapel To Lay Foundation Of 3rd University In January At Calabar by maxproxl(op): 10:43pm On Oct 22, 2012
Culled from "the national pilot"

The Chancellor of Covenant University (CU), Ota, Ogun State and the Bishop of Living Faith Worldwide, Dr. David Oyedepo, has said that the foundation for the third of the planned seven universities of the church will be laid in January, next year.

Bishop Oyedepo spoke yesterday during a media briefing to mark the 10th anniversary of Covenant University.

He said his intervention in education sector was to prove that sanity could still return to the much troubled sector in the country.

He said the plan to establish four universities in Nigeria and three others to be spread in West, Central and East African nations was part of the church’s resolve to reclaim the lost glories in the continent.

The cleric said the third ivory tower, which will be named Crown University, would be sited in Calabar, Cross Rivers State. The university will primarily focus on Maritime studies.

Bishop Oyedepo blamed the rot in the nation’s education system on what he described as ill-advised decision of the government to take over schools from the missionaries. He said the foundation of education in the country cannot be discussed without the influence of the missionaries, who he said established the first school in Badagry in 1843.

debrief08: Mother Teresa suffered a heart attack in Rome in 1983, while visiting Pope John Paul II. After a second attack in 1989, she received an artificial pacemaker. In 1991, after a battle with pneumonia while in Mexico, she suffered further heart problems. She offered to resign her position as head of the Missionaries of Charity, but the sisters of the order, in a secret ballot, voted for her to stay. Mother Teresa agreed to continue her work as head of the order.[56]

In April 1996, Mother Teresa fell and broke her collar bone. In August she suffered from malaria and failure of the left heart ventricle. She had heart surgery but it was clear that her health was declining. The Archbishop of Calcutta, Henry Sebastian D'Souza, said he ordered a priest to perform an exorcism on Mother Teresa with her permission when she was first hospitalised with cardiac problems because he thought she may be under attack by the devil.[57]

On 13 March 1997, she stepped down from the head of Missionaries of Charity. She died on 5 September 1997.[58]

At the time of her death, Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity had over 4,000 sisters, and an associated brotherhood of 300 members, operating 610 missions in 123 countries.[59] These included hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counseling programs, personal helpers, orphanages, and schools. The Missionaries of Charity were also aided by Co-Workers, who numbered over 1 million by the 1990s.[60]

Mother Teresa lay in repose in St Thomas, Kolkata for one week prior to her funeral, in September 1997. She was granted a state funeral by the Indian government in gratitude for her services to the poor of all religions in India.[61] Her death was mourned in both secular and religious communities. In tribute, Nawaz Sharif, the Prime Minister of Pakistan said that she was "a rare and unique individual who lived long for higher purposes. Her life-long devotion to the care of the poor, the sick, and the disadvantaged was one of the highest examples of service to our humanity."[62] The former U.N. Secretary-General Javier Pérez de Cuéllar said: "She is the United Nations. She is peace in the world."[62]
n 1962, Mother Teresa received the Philippines-based Ramon Magsaysay Award for International Understanding, given for work in South or East Asia. The citation said that "the Board of Trustees recognizes her merciful cognizance of the abject poor of a foreign land, in whose service she has led a new congregation".[70] By the early 1970s, Mother Teresa had become an international celebrity. Her fame can be in large part attributed to the 1969 documentary Something Beautiful for God, which was filmed by Malcolm Muggeridge and his 1971 book of the same title. Muggeridge was undergoing a spiritual journey of his own at the time.[71] During the filming of the documentary, footage taken in poor lighting conditions, particularly the Home for the Dying, was thought unlikely to be of usable quality by the crew. After returning from India, however, the footage was found to be extremely well lit. Muggeridge claimed this was a miracle of "divine light" from Mother Teresa herself.[72] Others in the crew thought it was due to a new type of ultra-sensitive Kodak film.[73] Muggeridge later converted to Catholicism.

Around this time, the Catholic world began to honor Mother Teresa publicly. In 1971, Paul VI awarded her the first Pope John XXIII Peace Prize, commending her for her work with the poor, display of Christian charity and efforts for peace.[74] She later received the Pacem in Terris Award (1976).[75] Since her death, Mother Teresa has progressed rapidly along the steps towards sainthood, currently having reached the stage of having been beatified.

Mother Teresa was honoured by both governments and civilian organisations. She was appointed an honorary Companion of the Order of Australia in 1982, "for service to the community of Australia and humanity at large."[76] The United Kingdom and the United States each repeatedly granted awards, culminating in the Order of Merit in 1983, and honorary citizenship of the United States received on 16 November 1996. Mother Teresa's Albanian homeland granted her the Golden Honour of the Nation in 1994.[64] Her acceptance of this and another honour granted by the Haitian government proved controversial. Mother Teresa attracted criticism from a number of people for implicitly giving support to the Duvaliers and to corrupt businessmen such as Charles Keating and Robert Maxwell. In Keating's case she wrote to the judge of his trial asking for clemency to be shown.[64][77]

Universities in both the West and in India granted her honorary degrees.[64] Other civilian awards include the Balzan Prize for promoting humanity, peace and brotherhood among peoples (1978),[78] and the Albert Schweitzer International Prize (1975).[79]

In 1979, Mother Teresa was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, "for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitutes a threat to peace." She refused the conventional ceremonial banquet given to laureates, and asked that the $192,000 funds be given to the poor in India,[80] stating that earthly rewards were important only if they helped her help the world's needy. When Mother Teresa received the prize, she was asked, "What can we do to promote world peace?" She answered "Go home and love your family." Building on this theme in her Nobel Lecture, she said: "Around the world, not only in the poor countries, but I found the poverty of the West so much more difficult to remove. When I pick up a person from the street, hungry, I give him a plate of rice, a piece of bread, I have satisfied. I have removed that hunger. But a person that is shut out, that feels unwanted, unloved, terrified, the person that has been thrown out from society—that poverty is so hurtable [sic] and so much, and I find that very difficult." She also singled out abortion as 'the greatest destroyer of peace in the world'.[81]

During her lifetime, Mother Teresa was named 18 times in the yearly Gallup's most admired man and woman poll as one of the ten women around the world that Americans admired most, finishing first several times in the 1980s and 1990s.[82] In 1999, a poll of Americans ranked her first in Gallup's List of Most Widely Admired People of the 20th Century.[83] In that survey, she out-polled all other volunteered answers by a wide margin, and was in first place in all major demographic categories except the very young.[83][84]

How do you compare someone who refused the conventional award ceremony with pomp and pageantry so the money could be used to help others to someone who rides 4 private jets in the midst of so much lack and poverty in his own land? Nonsense
Wow what a long epistle. Thank God l love reading so l took time to go through your irrelevant piece. Copy and paste as usual. Very impressive though.

I never compared mother theresa to bishop oyedepo. I only answered a simple question by a nairalander by the name "torkoka".

Mother theresa: may her soul rest in peace really tried but made a very big mistake. Giving material things alone to the poor will not solve their poverty problem. Just like giving some one N1million does not make some one a millionaire. Infact it will add to it.

Am sure even after her death, those people will still be poor. The most important thing is to change a person's mindset by renewing his mind with knowledge. Poverty is a mindset. This same poor people mother theresa helped will always be poor as long as they are not empowered mentally and financially.
After exhausting the food and clothes she gave them, they will still crave for more.

She should av established schools, skills acquisition centres, hospitals, farms, companies etc for them to be educated, acquire skills and be gainfully employed. No matter what you give a poor man, without financial intelligence it can never last. Even rich people become broke without financial management and discipline.

Oyedepo is doing more because he is impacting more people worldwide and faster too. That's the main reasons for the jets. for unhindered global outreach. THE BASIC TRUTH is that its a product of necessity which relates with a divine mandate, size of their ministry, envagelism & supernatural provision.

If you're free, visit "canaanland" in ota ogun state and discover things yourself. Visit goshen city in abuja too, go to kaduna, ibadan, ilorin, owerri, kano, portharcourt, calabar, enugu, akure and benin and see the impact of this ever increasing ministry. The best story in life is "from grass to grace" not the common trend in Nigeria of the reverse case.

I will say it again like l told others. Sit down and think and ask yourself, is it a sin for a pastor to acquire two private jets that his ministry can afford without fraud. Knowledge is power and information brings transformation only when correctly applied. Ask yourself, does being poor make you holy or glorify God. It even makes you evil and prone to sin.

Ask yourself Is it a sin for people to give tithes and offering willingly to promote the gospel. Is it a sin to live a good life amidst poverty. You can never help everybody and their poverty is not your fault. You can only do your best which oyedepo and other churches are doing.

Let me ask you, how many poor people have you impacted in your life. Churches are doing their best and people are still complaining. Christ embassy, winners, synagogue, redeem, mfm and a host of others are all supporting the poor every single day. They also support their members.

Stop jumping into wrong conclusions, find out things yourself. Av been to many churches just to study how they operate. Winners is among one the few excellence oriented churches l discovered.

I leave you with these two scriptures. "The path of the just shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day" and "The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy but l av come that you may have life and have it more abundantly". That's God's intention for every beleiver including you.

I pray for you today. May God give you understanding and may you experience a new dimension of God's favour in your life.

torkaka: i truly lack words to respond to you!! like i said, with people like you as his flock i am not surprised oyedepo is filthy rich!!

MOTHER THERESA WAS A CHRISTIAN WHO LIVED THE CHRIST LIKE LIFE!! OYEDEPO IS A CON ARTIST WHO LIVES LIKE 50CENT!!
Why won't you lack words, u lack intelligence too. 50cent is an entrepreneur. He runs his business empire with interests in music, movies, games, clothing, real estate etc. And he recently diversified into acting and publishing. He also parties too and weeds daily.
Have you ever heard 50cent teaching God's word. Beyonce made $80million in year 2008 alone according to forbes. That amount can buy 5private jets. You should compare 50cent to JayZ not bishop oyedepo.

I repeat sit down and ask yourself. Is it a sin for a pastor to acquire a jet for his large ministry.
Sit down and think. Is it a SIN. any pastor that thinks of what people will say before taking action is a big fool. The question is "what will God say". If the vision is from God, it will be backed by supernatural provision. Its so sad u can't comprehend that.

that response of yours will go down as the most unintelliegent post i have read on nairaland since i joined!
Lmao @ mother theresa travelled without hindrance and had visa! . . . . .so in your gullible state having visas and travlling without hindrance(attributed to goodwill) now equates with having private jets? no wonder oyedepo is rich! with flocks like you who wouldn't be?
Its so sad that u lack understanding. l was very careful in my last post not to insult you. Did l compare mother theresa's goodwill with private jets. Its obvious u didn't read my post if not u wouldn't av uttered such shameful childish statements. I noted in the post that l am not a member but l know the man very well. You asked a question that "if jesus was alive would he live like mother theresa or oyedepo". Answer: jesus said himself "l became poor for thy sake that you may become rich". He also said "the poor will always remain among us" and that we should help the poor.

The proof of desire is pursuit. Tell me is it a sin for a pastor to acquire two private jets for his large ministry. An equipment also used by other bishops and pastors. Sit down and think and challenge your poverty mindset. Ask yourself, why will bishop buy another jet if its not a necessity for the ministry. His 1st private jet was a gift from keneth copeland. An american pastor that has given out 26private jets as gift as at year 2008. If u doubt it, google his name.

To understand God, study the life of david and solomon in the bible and understand how God's grace operates. Its so sad that you just can't comprehend why a pastor can afford two private jets.

Where there is no vision, people perish and a God giving vision is backed by supernatural provision. Since 1983 this man has been consistent in addiction to kingdom principles and has experienced unlimited breakthroughs with mega testimonies from his members.

When winners chapel started its 1st university in 2002, a lot of pastors and churches criticised him. Now other churches have followed the trend. Even MFM opened one this year. Now that winners have another university, the envy has started again. For your information, in 2002, he announced the vision to set up SIX universities and multiple primary/secondary schools in Nigeria and across africa.

so why won't he command so much attention and hatred from short sighted people like you. If he was a fake pastor, he would have faded away a long time ago like some others pastors. In the next ten years, u will be so amazed by what will happen and will be short of words. By then some pastors of other churches will have been blessed with private jets too so attention will shift from bishop oyedepo. I pray before then, your mind will be renewed and broken free from the shackles of poverty thinking.

I av answered your question. Read my post above. For your information. Mother theresa wasn't poor. She operated a very bouyant foundation and flew around the world with no hinderance. she had automatic visa to enter most countries. If u doubt my claim, do a search on google. Having said that, you don't get saved by good works, you're saved by GRACE through FAITH.

Mother theresa only gave material things to the poor. Bishop does that and also liberates people from all oppression of the devil through the preaching of the word of faith. Pastors are human beings and they also crave for food, water, sleep and even sex like every normal mortal. You envy rich pastors and you also pity poor pastors. We're been blessed to bless others. So you can never be too rich in life. The richer you become, the more you should help other people; which is what winners chapel does regularly. Other churches like christ embassy, daystar, salvation, rccg, trem, kicc, coza, fountain of life, foursquare, deeper life, synagogue, lord chosen etc all run charitable foundations focused on the less priviledged.

Every church counts money whether orthodox or pentecostal. Catholic, anglican, methodist, baptist, cele, CAC, C&S and even adventist, latter day saint and jehovah witness and a host of others all collect offerings. The only difference is the quantity. The point is nobody and no church can force you to give. Its a choice and depends solely on the giver.
Why blame the "receiver" when the "giver" is not complaining.

Psalm 23 says "the lord is my shepherd, l shall not want". "I shall not want" means "l will not lack" or "l have everything l need". Bishop oyedepo has been blessed and is a blessing to his generation. Both spiritually and physically. No other church in africa creates more employment than winners chapel. They create income for several families through salaries and create income for the govt through taxes.

My question is what offence has the bishop committed. He is not the only rich pastor in Nigeria. A church like christ embassy and RCCG even has more branches worldwide. Winners chapel branches in UK give out slips to members so also other churches in the UK. They operate a cashless economy so most transactions are through e-platforms.

How does that concern the bishop who is based in ota ogun state where he preaches every single week. There are many branches in the UK and his son only presides over one. Bishop is a leader of leaders and he has mentored most senior pastors of other vibrant ministries home and abroad. David ibiyieome, simeon afolabi, bolu martins, sam adeyemi, dayo olutayo, taiwo and late bimbo odukoya, biodun fatoyinbo, david agboli, tayo adeyemi etc to mention a few of his proteges.

Bishop doesn't control other winners branches spread over 36states in Nigeria and several african countries. He is a good leader and not a boss. Leadership is about influence and good leaders leverage on "delegation strategies". A good leader only relates with top leaders(20%) and these leaders cordinate other leaders and generate the remaining 80% desired result.

Am not a member of winners chapel but l took interest in the ministry in 1996 when l read in Punch of his 1st private jet. 6years later in 2002, l was priviledged to meet the man and l discovered a humble individual with a strong passion for God and the kingdom. He always says it confidently."I am a messenger of prosperity". So tell me, would u have preferred a "a meesenger of poverty".

Even jesus himself said "l became poor for thy sake so that you may be rich". So why hate this purpose driven visionary and excellence oriented man of God. For all you haters, l advice you to read some of his books to know more about this man.

In a nutshell, always remember that poverty is not spirituality and mediocrity is not righteousness. You don't resemble God by being poor and being poor doesn't make you holier or better than a rich man. Infact poverty will lead you to envy, hatred, unforgiveness, strife, malice and bitterness. these are the six things God hates and most spiritual people are guilty of this even without knowing.

May God give you understanding.

rhymz: you are a fool that needs help! You mean a Pastor gave out jet aircraft as gift, wow! He must be the richest dumbo on earth, giving jets as gift, no wonder there is hunger and poverty. You can keep peddling your lies, the only people that will believe your trashy claims are goons like you.
Its so sad for you. Only childish adults insult people on a forum like this. Am not ready to exchange words with you since you appear to be ignorant. Calling me a fool doesn't make you any wiser. If you don't know who keneth copeland is, you could as well google it.

As at year 2009, pastor keneth copeland has given out 26 private jets. His ministry also owns a private airport in the US. Knowledge is power and information brings transformation only when correctly applied. Change your thinking and improve your communication skills
BusinessRe: Private Jets Owned By Wealthy Nigerians And Their Costs by maxproxl:
I see a lot of mediocrity and poverty mindset on this thread. Poster your list is very wrong. Please get facts next time before you mis-inform others especially the bulk of ignorant nairalanders.

Tayo aderinokun(gtb late ceo), jim ovia(zenith), tony elumelu(former uba ceo), cecilia ibru and many governors and ex-governors should be on that list.

You are all abusing a pastor just because he presides over a wealthy ministry. How many of you have asked what mike adenuga is doing with two private jets.

Winners chapel has only TWO JETS and not four. Even if it is four, how does that affect you bunch of haters. Am not a member of the church but l av details of their operations. The jets are used by all the seniors bishops and other leaders of the church. Bishop david abioye and bishop mike aremu inclusive. Its so sad that most of don't know the reason for a private jet. How can u know when most of u posting nonsense havnt travelled by air before not to talk of going abroad.

What is bad if u can afford some thing and you buy it. Some people av many cars they just park in their garage, some have many houses they don't even live in, some use handsets worth of over N150,000, some ladies have many designer handbags of over N30,000 each, some have jewelries worth over ,
N2million, some wear shoes worth over N100,000, some use wrist watches worth over N500,000 etc. And they have never assisted the poor before. They have never paid anyone's school fees, they av never assisted orphans, widows and destitutes.

What am l saying, all this luxury items av noted above does not matter to Bishop oyedepo if u come close to him. This same man leading winners chapel is the number one philantropist and largest creator of employment in ogun state. Now it is extending to other states: building primary and secondary schools, hospitals, universities, bakeries, hotels, restaurants, bookstores etc and thereby creating more employment.

Why do you think they have large members, its simply because they have a welfare package for less priviledges members every sunday. They help them with food, clothes, accommodation. Jobs and security for members who apply for assistance so please stop the hate.

Go to america and discover how churches contribute to economic growth. Assisting the poor and creating jobs. Pastor Keneth copeland in the US have giving out 26private jets as gift as at year 2009. Most pastors in america have been beneficiaries of this great giver. The more you give, the more God blesses you.

In a nutshell, you don't resemble God by being poor and God is not glorified by your poverty. Winners chapel is growing and will definately need more private jets in future. Mark my words today,a time will come when most of you will be so stunned by God's hand on this ministry that you will just walk into the church without being invited.

For your information, four more universities will be established soon. May God give you understanding and may you live long to connect with the covenant of prosperity that God has made available for all beleivers. You will succeed.
Access Bank, na nigerian bank?
What a funny question.how come u don't know access bank. One of nigeria's biggest banks. Even before they acquired intercontinental bank, access bank was very strong and visible.
Its important to note that the founders are former GTBank boys so am not suprised by their success story.

To respond to the poster. AIG Imoukhuede the access ceo still has 2 more years. In a nutshell sanusi's power shld be limited by the presidency. why make ceo's step down after 10years. He should learn from europe and america. Strong companies have been able to achieve constant growth because of leadership stability. A good ceo should be allowed to continue until the board of directors decides for a change.

Sanusi is sick and going beyond his limits

justaqad: *smh*jesus raised lazarus without lazarus exercising faith.(dung)
you just displayed ignorance and dishonesty on your path.
It's evident you know nothing about islam and muhammad.pointless replying your weak punch lines
hehehehehehe.
Its so sad that u cant give a precise reply to my questions. U said am ignorant so why don't u educate me. U said am dishonest, why don't you show me the truth u know.

My mum was born and raised as a muslim and was converted in her early twenties so l av a robust knowledge about islam. Stop insulting people on this thread. Just be more factual.

About the lazarus issue, sit down and think. can a dead man av faith. Miracles done by jesus in the bible were to show people of his supernatural and Godly being. Other apostles and disciples also perfomed miracles but only a God can raise the dead(lazarus) so that also confirms his Godly being.

All my key points are directed to living human beings. I never insulted you, l just gave u an assignment so humbly do the research and discover things u don't know. Let me add another question.

No.11: why does islam support violence and killing to defend islam
Christianity EtcRe: The Name Of Jesus Is Powerless....philipians 2:10 by maxproxl: 6:29am On Aug 23, 2012
@seun osewa and moderator.
Please u need to close this thread and stop encouraging topics like this on nairaland. Its unnecessary and misleading

@justaquad.
I rarely comment on the religious section but this calls for an exception. I like your guts and understand your point of view which is due to your background and parental attachment. Before l proceed, u need to understand some things listed below. l discovered these key issues personally not through parents which is what is affecting most of us when it comes to religion: please read carefully.

1.Mediocrity is not righteousness and there is a difference between being religious and being spiritual

2.Nothing works except the recipient believes in the source of that thing

3.Grace abounds for all unbelievers but peace and joy is for only beleivers

4.Christianity is not about going to church only, its about your personal relationship with God and your understanding of the holyspirit

5.There is only one God and jesus is not a prophet as u think. He is "God with us" and the holyspirit is "God in us". Same God but different dimensions. Just like water can be in three forms: solid, liquid and gas. Its the same water

6.God is a God of principles and only those who obey his principles experience miracles. If don't believe in a name, it can never work for you

7.Not all pastors are genuine so don't use that criteria to just others

8. poor pastors are not better than rich pastors but rich pastors will make more impact faster than poor ones because of access to funds

9.Poverty is not spirituality. Being poor does not make a christian holier than a rich one. You don't resemble God by being poor

10.Tithes and offering is a choice and is not by force so don't criticise people that give it.

I don't expect u to heed to my words but l just want u to sit down and think deeply about the following things about islam listed below.please read carefully.

1.Have u ever done any research on the history of mohammed. do u know he adapted the tesbiu from the catholic rosery

2.Islam is an arabic culture(dressing, language and way of life). That's why the quran was written in arabic and saudi arabia is the base

3.Until u behave like arabs in saudi, u can't be acknowledged as a real moslem(that's why they call u alhaji/alhaja when u go on pilgrimage(am sure u know the meaning).

4.Mohammed claims the quran dropped from heaven so why do we av bible stories inside the quran if he doesn't believe in christianity(and am sure u know islam came after christianity).

5.Why do most moslems seek alternative power openly when they are in trouble(some even go to churches for deliverance and breakthrough).

6.Why do moslem men date and marry christians women even against their parent's wish

7.Why did mohammed marry many wives and promoted polygamy which is accepted in islam. God instituted and supports marraige with only one wife

8. Why do we av other stories of prophets in the quran in the bible and no account of mohammed(is that not an indication that mohammed himself created the quran and removed major parts of the new testament)

9. Why do moslems pray five times a day as a sign of holiness.

10. Why does islam discriminate against women(as it is done in saudi arabia the headquarters of islam)

You can do a search on google and let us know what you discover. In conclusion, just because you don't believe in the name of jesus does not make it powerless. May you live long to discover and experience this truth. May God give you understanding. God bless you more abundantly

FamilyRe: Marrying Someone You Are Not Crazy About.- Should I Marry Him? by maxproxl:
Dear Poster, don't be discouraged by some comments on this thread but l will be very frank with you as an adult since u claim to be 30yrs. Please read every word carefully.

To start with pls u av to change your traditional mindset. its a stronghold u need to be delivered from. Culture and tradition will ruin any marraige. Your foundation should be based on biblical truths if u're a xtian so go for marital counselling in a good church. Am sure your parents and tribe contributed to this your traditional mindset because most of us pick up such attitudes mostly from our mothers.

As u said uv been friends with this man for 3yrs with no intimacy. The truth is no healthy man can do without sex for 3yrs so your "friend" is definately doing it with someone and respects u for not asking for it since. However don't let that discourage u because as u noted u were just friends until he proposed and u accepted.

For the man to plan to meet your parents, l think he really loves u. Nothing is wrong with being single at 35 and stayin with his mum as long as he is working and independent. If he was married and stayin with his mum, then it is a bad thing. Most parents don't want their kids leave the house until they get married to avoid being distracted. I av a cousin that moved from his parents house to his own 5bedroom duplex and he is 32yrs and still single. His mum adviced him not to waste over N1.2m renting a 3bedrm flat so he got a land and started buiding gradually.

You claim to be a financially bouyant working class lady so why worry about gifts or hair funds. Those are petty things u should care less about. You said u like him but not crazy or attracted to him. Its simply because the relationship is static and not funfilled.

Follow this simple therapy:
1.create more time for yourself and go out every weekend together consistently for 3months. Sacrifice and pay the bill first and u will be suprised that he will also pay the bill the following week.

2.Visit different cinemas, attend comedy shows, swim together, visit the beach and if you're in lagos go to "lacampagne tropicana" or "whispering palm" and have long chats about the future.

3.Have a horse and boat ride together, Kiss each other and cuddle lightly to avoid sex o(uv abstained for 3yrs so its worth waiting for).

4.Buy him gifts like a boxers, roll-on, perfume, hair & body cream, socks, ties, towel, sponge, soap, toothbrush, singlets etc. Things u know he needs daily(don't av to be too expensive). He will love u more and you will see him change gradually and see yourself loving him.

This 3months therapy works like magic. My sister love is sweet o but it takes time. Please loosing up yourself and don't get obssessed with your job and financial status. Am a man and we all want a humble, caring and supportive spouse. Life is beautiful so please don't stress yourself with worry and depression.

You can't blame this guy for not showerin u with gifts or giving u hair money(without u asking), its because of your status. If u were a student or not bouyant. Am sure he would respond to your basic needs.

in a nut-shell, here are some tips that may help u grow in love and enjoy your relationship.

1. Pray and commit your ways to God.to get d best out of any relationshp, uv got to be ready to adjust: no human is perfect, u're not just d flexible type. u sound so rigid. if u intend to get married(like your friends) and av kids soon, u av to bring down your ego and change your attitude

2. u dont fall in love, instead u grow in luv and luv takes time. Its like planting a seed and nurturing it to maturity till it bears fruits: Relationships are crucial to succeedin in life. we all cant do without it. Life could be frustratin without it.

3. men are logical and women are emotional in their response to issues: u need to learn to love and trust your man. dat doesnt mean u play d fool but being strategic and reasonable.its better u don't loose this relationship as your man seems focused and purpose driven(for planning to meet your parents).

4. what is required for any relationship(even marraige) to succeed is endurance and tolerance. however relationships are not to be endured but to be enjoyed. in real endurance, u're hoping to stay together to work things out. however tolerance may lead to trauma if your partner doesnt change. so uv got to strike a balance

5. try and adjust and lower your standards. take someone like me, a working graduate dating a final year student who I intend to marry next year. had to lower my standards and adjust despite all d visible differences. age, status, background, mentality, maturity etc.

av got a lot to say but av to devote time to other things.send me a mail and tell me more about yourself and relationship. phloxzone@yahoo.com. will recommend a particular book that will help u discover yourself and rekindle your love life.

In conclusion there is no perfect man o so stop wishing for one fairy tale husband. think positive and change your mindset. You will excel and succeed & your best will become better this year in jesus name. AMEN
