Veteran Nollywood actor Chiwetalu Agu, who was arrested by the army in Anambra State yesterday for wearing a pro-Biafra outfit has been released after he agreed to forfeit 100 loaves of freshly baked bread in his possession.


The Chairman of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter, who brokered the deal, told YeyeNews.com reporter that the commander of the Operation Golden Dawn in Onitsha personally stood for the Nigerian Army. Agu had wanted to go back to Upper Iweka to continue with sharing the bread but, according to the chairman, the “commander said they want the situation to be a win-win for everybody. So they are going to release him if he agrees to forfeit the remainder of the loaves of bread he was sharing before his arrest. We surrendered the Biafran bread to the Nigerian Army.”

The Minister of Health, Dr. Chris Ngige is reportedly making moves to recall “reserve doctors” in the country to replace the striking members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD).

Turji, a bandits leader in Zamfara State has disclosed that the reason his group is relocating to the Sabon Birni area of Sokoto State has nothing to do with any impending Nigeria military assault. Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of the Living Faith Church International, aka Winners Chapel, has countered the claim made by Sheikh El Zakzaky that majority of Nigerians will prefer an Islamic rule if given a chance to choose. Bishop Oyedepo made his response during a meeting at the Faith Tabernacle in Ota, Ogun State on Saturday.


“God will strike the mouth of that man who said Nigerians prefer Islamic Rule,” he retorted. “Which Islamic rule and which Nigeria? This matter has been settled in the presence of God long time ago. The Nigerian government has agreed to a deal to supply the United States 750,000 barrels of crude oil in exchange for dropping the indictment of the embattled police officer Abba Kyari, YeyeNews can authoritatively report.


Abba Kyari was indicted by a US court for conspiring with Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, popularly known as Hushpuppi, to defraud a businessman of $1.1 million.. The US government subsequently requested his extradition to face trial.

Former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, has accused the Kano state governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, of dethroning him because he refused to grant the governor’s request to marry his teenage daughter. Banks and other public facilities in the southeast of Nigeria has said that they have no choice but to lower the national flag on their premises in compliance with the IPOB order because even security agencies did the same in their compounds. A staff of one of the old generation banks told a YeyeNews.com reporter that they were advised to drop their flags by security agents attached to protect them. “Nobody will defend this place if they come for us,” the staff quoted a security agent attached to his bank. “Even our colleagues in the station have resolved to take the Flag down for laundry on October 1st. The headquarters have already approved the request. It is a tactical move.”



YeyeNews.com correspondent learned from an official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Enugu that decision to lower the flag was taken in a joint security meeting earlier in the week. “It was a collective decision that all commands should take down their flags for laundry on that day. A nationwide poll conducted in Nigeria across all the states of the federation and Abuja, FCT, cutting across many ethnic groups in the country, age group, gender, political affiliation, and income, and conducted in various forms – by phone, email, SMS, WhatsApp, and in-person – has shown that Buhari is the worst thing that has ever happened to Nigeria since 1914 amalgamation by Lord Lugard. The result of the poll shows that Buhari won by 70.37 percent.

Last week, the Monday weekly stay-at-home order that was unilaterally imposed on the Southeast and which started on August 9, 2021 was once again officially canceled by the executive of IPBO who originally mandated but rescinded it half-heartedly before it started in August. However, YeyeNews.com has learned that the reason the recent vociferous public cancellation was done by IPOB had everything to do with the plans of the presidency, the Department of State Security (DSS), the Department of Military Intelligence (DMI), and the office of Mujahideen Isah Ali Ibrahim Pantami and had little to nothing to do with the uproar that arose after two major atrocities perpetrated by IPOB enforcers of the stay-at-home order draw a national uproar and condemnation.


Last week Monday, the enforcers of the order invaded Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State and forced the students and teachers at the school to abandon the English examination for the West Africa Examination Council, WAEC. The armed invaders also set ablaze about eight motorcycles belonging to the teachers. In addition, another group of enforcers accosted and murdered an Anglican priest, Rev. Emeka Merenu, in Ihiteukwa, Orsu Local Govt in Imo State and set his car ablaze.

In a move to solve the perennial problem that has existed between “host” farmers and herdsmen, Miyetti Allah has called on the National Assembly to enact a legislation to recognize cows as half-humans who deserve the inalienable rights accorded to humans as enshrined in the 1999 constitution. Miyetti Allah, the advocacy group of Fulani pastoralists across Nigeria, made this proposal during a press conference in Maitama, Abuja.






According to the Public Relation Officer of Miyetti Allah, Garba Umar, the Fulani ethnic group has for untold ages herded cattle across the Sahel and Sub Sahara and has long regarded these creatures (cattle) as religious-cum-cultural symbol. He said, ” Por instance, Hindu, which is the oldest religion in the world, venerates cattle and many states in India have enacted laws that prohibit the maltreatment and slaughtering of cows. The great Mahatma Gandhi in his immortal words once said, “The cow is the purest type of sub-human life.” We as Miyetti Allah don’t only trade on cows, but also regard them similar to the Maasai fefle of Kenya.”

Kenya’s Ngugi wa Thiong’o, Nigeria’s Chimamanda Adichie, and Isa Pantami are amongs the five shortlisted candidates for this year’s Nobel Prize for Literature. On Thursday, the Swedish Academy will announce the 2021 winner. Sources closed to the Academy told YeyeNews.com that the three Africans are on the shortlist of five people. The other two are said to be from America and Jamaica.

A fact-finding report by Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) has raised alarm over the high cases of mental health in the Nigerian Police Force (NPF). The report claims that there are other causes at the root of this mental issues but that the major culprit is as a result of numerous curses placed on police officers by Nigeria citizens in their day to day interaction.

It will be recalled that a recently released report by the Nigeria Police Commission revealed that 63% of police officers have mental health challenges. A breakdown of the figures shows that 34% of women and 78% of men in the Force have mental illness.

Though the latest list is yet to be made public, a source at the Commission’s head office in Abuja told this reporter that FUTO is among the latest designated sub-standard universities.

Sub-standard university is one that scores below 5 out of 9 points in NUC accreditation score index (NUC-ASI).According to an insider, among other things, the the major reason why NUC is downgrading FUTO’s status has to do with the school’s recent fraudulent professorial appointment extended to Mujahedeen Isa Pantami. “If a school awards professorship to an academically unsound and unqualified like that. it means questions must be asked about every other professor at the school, including the VC and every other non-academic staff”, the source explained.
