An Islamic Cleric in Zamfara State has claimed that he got a revelation that Liverpool star Mohammed Salah will not score a goal in his next five games for the club as punishment for his viral photo celebrating Christmas with his family. A mother (name withheld) has been arrested in the Lagos campus of Nigerian Law School (NLS) for impersonating her 22 years old daughter in a resit Bar examination. A source in the NLS told YeyeNews.com that the invigilators became suspicious of the mother after she was observed to be constantly adjusting a facemask into her face even as she was sweating profusely.


“Sweat was flowing freely down from her head during the examination but she kept holding the mask firmly against her face. That was when the invigilators suspected something is not right. After thorough check it was established that she was an impersonator. Further interrogation revealed that she was impersonating her daughter who had failed the examination the previous year”.


YeyeNews.com was not able to speak with the arrested mother as the police insisted on interrogating her first before she could be allowed to speak with any journalist. But her daughter told YeyeNews.com reporter that she wasn’t aware of her mum’s plan to impersonate her in the exam. “Though, I told my mum I wouldn’t be going for the exam because I would be attending an audition for a movie role, I never asked her to go and impersonate me. Besides, what does she intend to write? She didn’t study Law at school. I don’t even know how she managed to beat the security and gained access to the hall. This is scandalous”.

Bandits in Katsina State have expressed dismay that the Emir of Daura did not deem it fit to extend an invitation to them on his marriage to his 20-year-old bride. A bandit leader in the axis pointed out that despite their good gesture of suspending their operations to allow free passage of guests to the marriage, the 90-year-old emir ignored them in the invitations, a source told YeyeNews.com reporter.



“He did not invite us nor did he send us any gifts in appreciation of our goodwill. If he was a younger man, we would have attacked the venue and disrupted the ceremony. But we decided to let the old man enjoy his young bride”, the source quoted the bandit leader.




But an official in the emir’s palace revealed that they decided not to invite the bandit leaders to the ceremony because some of them might develop interest in the young bride. “The palace had often invited them to functions. Their tendency to drink too much and eyes for young girls are legendary. The emir forbade us from inviting them to this marriage ceremony because he fears one of the bandits may develop interest in his bride. He cannot afford to lose his beautiful young bride to anyone”.

One of the men who don’t want his name in print told YeyeNews.com how his friends in the Assumption Parish went into jubilant feat when the the news broke. “The Papacy has finally declared adultery as too little a sin to dent any man’s righteousness. The implication is that the sin of adultery is only binding on women. Thank God the last guilt most of us had have been stripped off by the Pope’s declaration. We are now free to openly keep concubines without any fear of being excommunicated by the parish. We are very happy”.



A member of the Catholic Men’s League in Port Harcourt excitedly told YeyeNews.com reporter that his blood pressure has miraculously normalized since the Pope’s statement was made public. “You know we have been hiding to cheat on our wives for a long time. A member of robbery gang was alleged to had slept off during a robbery operation inside a supermarket in the Kubwa area of Abuja as a result of an overdose of Tramadol. Tramadol is a prescription drug which is commonly abused by many youths in Nigeria. Eyewitnesses at the scene told YeyeNews.com that other members of the gang scampered away leaving their colleagues fast asleep on the supermarket floor when passersby raised alarm about the robbery.


“His gang members tried to carry him away but they couldn’t because of his huge size. So they left him and ran away. Someone joked that he chewed five tablets of tramadol before the operation and that his gang members warned him but he didn’t heed. The local vigilantes has managed to wheel him away to the nearby police station. He was still fast asleep when the vigilantes took him away”, an eyewitness narrated.


The manager of the supermarket said the robbers gained access into the store individual and blended in with other shoppers before they started their operation. He narrated that: “four young men walked into the supermarket at around 3:30pm. One of them was behaving strangely like he was sleepwalking. I told a security guard to put an eye on him but we didn’t know they had a sinister motive. Suddenly, the sleepy one pulled out a ‘cut-to-size’ locally made single barrel gun and ordered everyone to lie face down.

Most of the women in the New Word Mission Church, Obiaruku in Delta State have stopped attending the church after the pastor revealed that God has told him that women should now be the head and breadwinners of the family. A Southwest APC youth leader has alleged that the N250,000,000 donation announced by singer Davido for orphanage homes in the country is a ploy by the PDP to influence the 2022 governorship election in Osun and Ekiti States. The Advertising Agency of Nigeria yesterday advised business owners in Nigeria to take advantage of the high number of Nigerians visiting Pornhub by advertising their businesses in the pornographic website. In a document posted in the agency’s website, they said Nigerians are the highest visitors to Pornhub in the world followed by India.

The Resident pastor of Foursquare Bible Church in Abuja has made a statement in a response to remarks made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina that he stopped attending a church in Abuja because the pastor was criticizing President Buhari. The statement by the resident pastor said that Mr. Adesina’s absence is not being felt by the church because Mr. Adesina does not pay tithes to the church.

The Minister of Agriculture has blamed the continuous rise in the price of food items in the market on the excessive consumption by Nigerians and advised that everyone should significantly cut down on their consumption if they want to reverse the trend. The Minister made the statement during a retreat organized for senior officials in the ministry.



“The food inflation is not the fault of our government. It is an artificial event caused by excessive consumption of Nigerians. Every household must reduce the quantity of food they eat daily. That will reduce demand and cause prices to stabilize”, the Minister said.

“Go to the markets and see the level of purchase of food by Nigerians. People are now getting excessively fat. But look at Mr. President. Less than two weeks after YeyeNews.com reported that majority of the personnel in the Nigeria Police Force suffer from mental illness, the Federal Government has announced a mandatory psychiatric and drug test for all intending recruits and a periodically test for serving officers. The decision of the government was made known by the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed during a press briefing to commemorate the first anniversary of the #endsars protest.



“In honour of the numerous victims of police brutality the government has decided that there would be a mandatory psychiatric test for every member of the police force”, the Minister announced. He then went further to say that “some of the actions of the police can not be explained unless one assume the officers are not mentally sound. So any officer who is diagnosed to be mentally unsound will be confined to a the closest psychiatric center to prevent contamination of their colleagues. This is a major step in the government’s resolve to end the pervasive brutality of the police”.

President Buhari is among the recent graduates from Baze University, however, officials at the presidency prevailed on the university management to keep it a secret, a source at the university has revealed. The source who spoke on the condition of anonymity stated that President Buhari graduated with honors with a degree in International Relations and that his name was removed from the convocation book to maintain his privacy.





A lecturer in the department of International Relations, who pleaded anonymity confirmed to YeyeNews.com that he had a certain Muhammadu Buhari in his list of students who registered one of the courses he taught. “There is a student by that name in my class. But I don’t know him facially. The class was a very large one”, the lecturer said. “I don’t take part in the conduct of examination. My job is to teach, set the questions and mark. A masquerade has been arrested by the police for stealing a tuber of yam from a widow in the Ekenwan area of Benin City. YeyeNews.com reporter gathered that the incident happened during a burial ceremony in the community. A youth leader told YeyeNews.com reporter that it was usual for masquerades to come out to entertain during burial ceremonies in that community.


“It’s usually a peaceful event but today this particular masquerade became very harsh towards the spectators especially women. He chased this particular woman, a widow, into her home. We didn’t know at the time that he entered her kitchen and took a tuber of yam. He returned very lively and started playing with the spectators to the surprise of everyone”.

Just days after unknown gunmen attacked the Abolongo correctional center in Oyo, killed two security agents, and freed most of the awaiting trial inmates, two inmates have surprisingly returned to the facility. In a statement released on Monday, October 25, the head of the facility said the two returned because they had been starving since they escaped.



YeyeNews.com reporters managed to speak with the returning inmates. They revealed that after escaping from the facility they had to live in the streets, and were very surprised at how things were now alarmingly expensive in Nigeria. One of the prisoners who was convicted in 2014, before the start of President Buhari’s regime, explained that he was shocked that 200 naira could no longer buy a plate of food anymore.

Following the allegation from the Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazak of Kwara State that the Minister of Information and Culture Alhaji Lai Mohammed stole at least N100m of the campaign funds of the governor, Nigerians have called on the minister to include his name in the list of looters he compiled in 2018.



It will be recalled that Lai Mohammed published a list of alleged looters of public funds in 2018. YeyeNews.com dredged up the report to speak to a political analyst Mr. Deji Abiodun on corruption in Nigerian politics. Mr. Abiodun expressed shock at the governor’s accusations against Mr. Mohammed. “I was truly surprised when I read the accusations of the governor against Lai Mohammed”, Mr. Abiodun said. “He was the person going about tagging the opposition party members as looters of public funds. He even compiled a list of looters some years ago. I hope he remembers to include his name in that list”.



Another respondent – a public servant in Lagos – told YeyeNews.com reporter that the fact that the otherwise loquacious Minister could not respond to the governor’s accusations leaves a lot to be desired. “Imagine the Minister declining to comment on the governor’s accusations when asked on a live television show. Rather he said he will respond at an ‘appropriate time’. That is unlike the Lai Mohammed we know. Its surprising how he tactically chickened out of this fight. Is he trying to placate the governor to not releasing more damning evidence of his culpability? I suspect so”.

The federal government of Nigeria is set to borrow $850m from Afghanistan to fund the 2022 budget, sources in Aso Rock told YeyeNews.com. President Buhari had disclosed that his government will borrow above five trillion naira to fund the 2022 budget deficit during the budget presentation to the National Assembly.



Though the government is yet to officially disclose the source of the borrowings, a source in the presidential villa told YeyeNews.com reporter that about $850m will be borrowed from Afghanistan. “The Taliban leadership of the country has already agreed to lend Nigeria about $850m next year. The governors of southern Nigerian states, in a communique issued at the end of an emergency meeting held at Kwale in Delta State, have asked citizens of southern states to procreate more so to can catch up with the population of the north.


“The meeting frowned at the tendency of our northern colleagues to intimidate us with their large population size whenever there is a political dispute. Though we consider the acclaimed large population as suspicious, we have nevertheless drawn up measures to commensurately increase our population over the next 20 years”, part of the communique seen by YeyeNews.com reporter reads.

The federal government of Nigeria has concluded plans to begin construction of what they refer to as Cow Lanes in major cities across the country to forestall the menace of cows intruding into major highways and causing avoidable accidents and traffic gridlock, a source in the Ministry of Works told YeyeNews.com.



“The proposal came from the Ministry of Agriculture. The presidency has approved and mandated the Minister of Works to carry out a detailed feasibility study including the cost implications of the project and submit the results within 30 days”, the source recounted”. He further added that the inspiration for the idea came from the BRT lanes which are dedicated lanes for BRT buses in Lagos and it was Miyetti Allah that advanced the idea to the federal government after their representative came back from the UK to study cow lane implementations.
