pass through the scanner five good times at the
Miami airport on Thursday despite her celebrity
status.

In an exclusive video obtained by MailOnline, the
"What Now" hit-maker couldn't navigate her way
through the airport effortlessly without proper
scrutiny from the stiff security...eventhough it
RIHANNA!

According to DailyMail, the singer arrived for the
flight a bit too blinged out to go unnoticed under the
scanning machine. She was then forced to remove
articles of jewellery and clothing piece-by-piece
until the metal detector stopped beeping.
Sources claim, RiRi at one point became very
upset until she finally tossed one of her black
leather boots to the ground.

After her shoes went out, she was able to go
through the scanner without a beep. Perhaps it
was a steel toe on her choice of footwear that
caused the problem.

But going by what she was wearing - a black
choker and series of chains and delicate necklaces
- there would have been NO WAY she could have
gone free at the airport.

Sorry RiRi but next time please take off all your
blings before going through airport checks... else
you may miss your flight because of that scanner!

If you’re on Facebook, I am certain you are no stranger to messages like this from strangers you’ve never met: “Hi my name is blah blah blah, I need your help please…my account number is…My God will reward you richly. Thank you”



The Internet is crawling with messages like the one above. Ninety percent of those messages are usually brushed aside as scam and forgotten in the same moment they are received. In Nigeria, many of us believe these scams have diabolical connections, so it easy to understand why some of us never get past the first few lines of those messages let-alone send a reply. When you are living in a community riddled with stories of ” touch and follow”, “stolen private parts”, “419” and “good luck bandits” in a twisted sort of way it’s only rational that your mind could become paranoid when faced with strangers in need; even when those faces are harmless avatars on the profiles of a social media network.

Occasionally, I wonder about the number of persons who – after exploring every other option their pride could permit to change a troubling situation – resort to social media networks to seek help, only to be met with cold shoulders because their troubling situation did not have the good fortune to trend on twitter.



A few days ago, a young man; David James Jay, circulated an emotional letter on Facebook and Twitter about his personal struggles. I found two things interesting about his story, namely; his need and the reaction of the public to his situation.

Concerning his need; David isn’t dying of Ebola, his sister isn’t one of the missing girls and there is nothing wrong with his kidney. He is simply a computer science student who needs ten thousand naira (N10,000) to complete his savings to buy a computer in order to make the most of his university education. (Read James’ Story)
Perhaps the concept of a workman in need of work tools is not as emotionally persuasive as a story of rape or starving children. And this could explain why no one (except Don Jazzy who recently sent James the sum of thirty thousand Naira) batted an eyelid to the young man’s tragic tale which in many ways is symbolic of the Nigerian situation today; a rising case of half baked professionals and students with no access to proper learning resources, gearing up to manage an economy that aims to compete actively on the global stage.

I spoke with Mr David on the phone recently (his contact number is available on both his Facebook message and twitter profile), He confirmed that he has almost raised the complete money for his computer and he is very grateful to Don Jazzy for responding to his need. When I asked him if he had expected any positive response from the celebrities and people he contacted for help on his social network, he replied “Yes. I was hopeful that they would respond. I really tried to do it on my own, but I had run out of options. I am grateful to Mr. Don Jazzy for his assistance. When I saw the alert I screamed. My God will continue to bless him and his family“



According to James, his challenge is not totally resolved yet, because of the situation with his brother’s iPad and something about his mother waiting for contributions in her collective to mature.

But he is a long way from where started and he plans to keep pushing his message on Facebook and twitter until he is able to buy the computer he needs for school.

If James is a fraud, the next story that enters our inbox or mentions might be legit. How do we tell the difference? Most times we can’t. But we cannot afford to let those fears cloud our heart and make us cold to strangers in need. Kudos to Don Jazzy for doing the right thing.

Maryam was the wife of General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, who was Nigeria‘s head of state from 1985 to 1993. As first lady, she launched many programmes to improve the life of women.

On 6 September 1969, shortly before her 21st birthday, she married Major Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. They had four children, boys Mohammed and Aminu, and two girls, Aisha and Halima.

The “Maryam Phenomenon” became a celebrity and a “an icon of beauty, fashion and style”, a position she retained after her husband’s fall from power.

She died on the 27th of December 2009 (aged 61) in Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.

Turai Yar’Adua

Turai is the widow of former Nigerian President and former Katsina StateGovernor Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.

She served as the First Lady of Nigeria from 2007 until the death of her husband, President Yar’Adua, on May 5, 2010.

Turai married Umaru Yar’Adua in 1975, and they have five daughters and two sons. One of their daughters, Zainab, is married to Usman Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, Governor of Kebbi State.

Stella Obasanjo

Stella was the First Lady of Nigeria from 1999 until her death. She was the wife of former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

She died while undergoing elective liposuction in an exclusive clinic in Spain.

She was admitted to the University of Ife now (Obafemi Awolwo University), Ile-Ife, for a bachelor’s degree in English, attending from 1967 to 1969. In 1969 she transferred to the UK to complete her studies, this time round, in insurance, in London and Edinburgh, Scotland, from 1970 to 1974.

As first Lady of Nigeria, she joined the Campaign Against Female Genital Mutilation and on 6 February 2003, she declared the day the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation.

Hajiya Asiya Buhari

Not much is known about General Buhari’s wife but the pretty former first lady came out recently to condemn the bomb attack on her husband.

[b]Pastor Chris Oyakhilomehas [/b]finally responded somewhat to the allegations made by wifeAnita.

The pastor talked about the whole issue during the church’s monthly global communion service, saying that he was a man of God and not a preacher, and that the allegations were crazy.

“I heard that some media houses – especially in Nigeria – are writing some things against me. All sorts of frivolous charges, that’s crazy,” he said.

“You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.

“The only things you might find will be a man of God, maybe in two different kinds of ways. Moses, for example; when he struck the rock twice, [he] was provoked by the anger of the people. [It was] not because he wanted to do something against the Lord.

No man of God does something against the Lord. “Are you hearing me? A man of God is set on a course; there is a type of life that he is given. Then you have a young man, a young prophet; he wasn’t named; he was deceived by another man of God and so he went in a direction that God said ‘don’t go’. “That is the only kind of thing you find about a man of God when he misses the message of God or he acts beyond what God said.

But a man of God settles himself in the fight against the world… like those writing those silly things about me, that I did this and I did that.

“You don’t know who a man of God is. I don’t go in that direction. I wasn’t accused of the things you said, nor did I commit those silly things that you said and I don’t need to go into that level in such discussions.

Jesus Christ was accused by many – a lot of frivolous charges. There will always be those who would like for it to be true. But you know, in spite of the accusations against Jesus, It didn’t change who he was. It didn’t change him.

“There are preachers and there are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God and I go in the way I’m asked to go. It may cause some troubles with individuals but that’s not because I have done something wrong and when it comes to Reverend Anita, what I will say to you is ‘pray for her’.

“Don’t act like those people. If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a minister to definitely be at the level of that minister and so they may be looked upon and the expectation may be like that, but it’s a positional thing.

“If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is therefore a woman of God. That’s not the way it is in the Bible.

That’s why you don’t really find the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible. How many of them? Who was Peter’s wife, did you ever know her name? You never find that out. Who was John’s wife? Did you ever read the name? What about all the other Apostles? How many of their names are written in the Bible. You never find their names.”

At this point, one of the female pastors sought to know why the names of wives of the men of God were not found in the Bible.

Oyakhilome’s response was that she should ask God whenever she finds him.

“Why? You ask God when you find him. Ask God when you find him,” he exclaimed. “So, they are little things; don’t try to make something big out of them. So when journeying, doing the things that God called us to do, Christians should not have a divorce; it shouldn’t be but you see, that doesn’t mean a Christian may not take the step.

“They may do it but [they] have to make things right and we shouldn’t take one another to court. But when it happens, not that we don’t just want to go, it means someone is taking us there. That’s a problem, but be wise and stay focused in the word of God and don’t let those who want to feast on things like this, including Christians…

“There are Christians who like things like this; they want to make something big out of this: ‘Yeah, yeah, yeah, we said it’. You said what? Judge nothing before the time.

Be wise. Glory to God. “So we are not working in sin and living in sin and hoping that we can mix sin and righteousness together. We are the manifestation of his righteousness. We walk in that light only, and that’s the way it’s gonna be.”

Amidst the divorce stories of evangelical couple Chris&Anita Oyakilome, their wedding picture from 20 years ago has surfaced.

The picture was allegedly shared by wellwishers of the union, in a bid to remind to couple of their humble beginnings and to put an end to the divorce proceedings.

A statement by Anita’s attorney’s however claim that a reconciliation is impossible.

“It is with great sadness that our client, Pastor Anita Oyakhilome, has come to the conclusion that her marriage to Pastor Christian Oyakhilome has irretrievably broken down and regrettably there is no hope of any reconciliation.

We can confirm that Pastor Anita Oyakhilome has commenced divorce proceedings in London as she resides in the UK.”

A 9 year boy who found his mum high on heroine on the street, slapped the shit out her in a shocking video that was posted on instagram.

The distraught little boy can be heard screaming "mummy, wake up. Can you talk to me? Wake up" while the woman stares blankly at him, making him slap her again and again. Feel so sad for the child.

With a mum like this, he's probably raising himself. He shouldn't have hit her like that but I can understand his frustration.

When we first saw Barack Obama and his wife Michelle with their two daughter’s, Malia Ann and Natasha in 2009,we knew their daughters could not escape the wonderful genes of being tall.

Now that the two girls are taller than their mom we are waiting for them to’ take over’ their dad! The powerful First Family jetted off to Westchester, New York yesterday, to celebrate the wedding of their longtime family chef, Sam Kass to MSNBC host Alex Wagner and they were all dressed in black.

These amazing photos show two lions as they fought to be the King of the Jungle and also for the attention of a lioness in Masa Mara, Kenya and luckily for us photographers were there to take some unbelievable snaps.

The two male lions, who are actually brothers, were captured on camera by Laurent Renaud and Dominique Haution, who are French seasoned safari photographers.

“When lions want to overtake a pride, the old lions fight with the new ones. But seeing two lion brothers fighting, one against the other is a very rare sighting.

We were very lucky to witness it, and both lions unfortunately ended up with serious wounds. But that’s just what happens in the wild and we would never interfere with nature.” Laurent said

She also said just 15 minutes after the lions finished scrapping, the triumphant brother went and mated with his lioness as a prize.

Nigerian rapper, Reminisce who was recently listed by Time Magazine as one of the 7 world rappers to watch out for says in a recent interview that he does not believe in flaunting his wealth on social media.

On why he doesn’t flaunt wealth:

“I am a very reserved artiste. I am able to differentiate between Reminisce the artiste and Remi the family man. That is why I don’t promote luxury.

There is nothing I need that I can’t afford, but I am not going to show off on social media. When artistes do such a thing, they appear superficial and unapproachable to their fans.

Instead, I simply invest in people.”

On writing a song for Goldie:

“I wrote the hit song, Don’t Touch my Body for late Goldie and was never credited. But, it is okay.

There are many songs you write and don’t get credited for. I don’t really care about such things, neither do I like to complain or bear grudges.

I don’t really want to reveal or speak about others.”

On almost giving up:

It’s true that I almost quit music four months before my fortune improved. I became a star around late 2011, after I released Kako Bi Chicken.

The video of that song was released around the period that Nigerians were protesting against the removal of fuel subsidy.

I had just become a father at that time and I realized that I couldn’t continue the same way.

“I almost quit music because I wasn’t making any money. You know, money controls the industry today, unlike the past when talent did.”

Doctors say most necks have 7 vertebrae but 15 year old Chinese boy Fu Wengui (pictured above) has 10. As a young boy he was diagnosed with Congenital Scoliosis and an abnormal chest frame which made his neck grow extra three inches.


This causes him a lot of pain and makes it hard for Fu to walk. Congenital scoliosis is caused by the bones in the spine developing abnormally in the womb.
