Thanks for the link. I, however, had to read my post again and again to look for any form of disrespect. debenzd: I think its very unfair to vilify Yok. This is something you can do yourself if you go to this website. I have my own excel sheet where I do my analysis everyday and you can see the change in numbers yourself. FCMB did about 192.9m on the 28th of Feb. They usually do not buy in one day. They buy over a period of time. Here is the link. https://www.globalxfunds.com/funds/nge/
Scroll down to the full details and download. Do the comparison yourself. We really need to respect people who help with information. You can chose to use it or ignore it. |

Sir, the excel spreadsheet clearly shows "MSCI movement for 1st March 2012". Also, this does not add up as FCMB did not sell up to this volume this week. Could you please drop the link for verification? Thanks. yok: MSCI MOVEMENT IN EQUITY POSITION 1ST MARCH 2018
MSCI index just dumped Seplat and still uploading on FCMB, Unilever etc.
Going into FCMB by the funds means the fund is following the trail of Genesis.
For now the market is for those who are prepared to wait as so many stocks are in trading range with little volatility in the market.

Hi dear, You need to develop a trading plan. Are you a short, medium or long term trader? Cutting losses, being patient and diversifying are qualities needed in different scenarios. Also, get a trading journal and record your successes and mistakes. I call mine lessons learned. Over time you will be able to draw a pattern as to why you make losses or make profit. It will not be a bad idea to learn how to read and analyse charts and financials. You seem to be very uncomfortable taking a loss of 2%. Hmmm, if you cannot take a loss of 30% on a single position without developing HBP, the market may not be for you. Having said this, start by taking small positions and always buy in tranches until you are comfortable trading larger positions. For this particular issue, if you bought a little quantity, you can wait to see if will fall to sub 1.00 and buy more (always buy in tranches). Otherwise, if you use Morgan, check to see your breakeven, put it up for sale at breakeven at 10.15am and wait to buy lower (if you still think you want to buy FCMB). Also, always ask questions. Remember that final decision, risk and profit is yours. Goodluck! theVision: gurus in the house, please i bought fcmb after many research nd analysis @1.14 last week, now its gone sour....please where did i miss it?...where there any prior clues to its price decline that i was ignorant of, and what should i check for next time....ive been sleeping since d market closed 2day, e b like trailer jam me..please help!.. |

@ Dipoolowo please continue to post this information. It is useful to some person's analysis. It is left for us to carry out our individual due diligence. My advice to newbies is to always ask questions. For example, "gurus in the house, please do you think trancsorp is good buy"? Trust me you will get good analysis to make your decision. But remember profit is yours, therefore risk is yours. Otherwise, pay a stockbroker to manage your account for you and study his stock picks until you are knowledgeable to trade yourself. nio68: Thanks for your post but I kinda of feel these "recommendations" can be quite misleading for newbies |

Manonamission: Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
I am inclined to think we are on our way out not out yet. The forecast at the beginning of the year was ending of Q2 but has now been shifted to Q3 . Lol. However, we have seen gradual improvement in economic metricms that will signal same. We are farther away from where we started but we ain't there yet. Regardless of this, honour market cycles and trade or invest accordingly. |

Thank you Sir. I actually have my eyes on them. What are your thoughts regarding whether we are out or soon getting out of the recession. Do you think this recovery is for real? Manonamission: @ Maykesha FBNH and DF have experienced some rally already but I'll like to suggest you monitor them closely and then consult your investment adviser. Watch your entry price too. I expect some good bargains in few days/weeks. Note the bolded with respect to FBNH. I guess many don't understand this rule exists. The management is working assiduously to lower NPL to single digit, improve CRR and margins.

You can join both at any price below #3 I am happy sir, I was just "imagining." I have my eyes on another stock which I believe can do something close. Imagine someone who bought 1 million units of DANGFLOUR stock at N1.00 in January 2016 when Dangote took over. I was not patient then - was too excited with a 100% profit.
My question is which stock can perform this feat again? I am ready to be patient this time.

When did holding a stock for 3 months become long term? DANGFLOUR will still get back to 7 Naira and then go above it. Who are you warning? The people who bought quality stocks? Learn to keep quiet if you have nothing to say. PETERiCHY: We asked them to strike when the iron was hot but GREEDINESS didn't allow them.
Now I see alot has been injured internally by wicked Mr.Market hence they console themselves with long-term fairy tales.
NSE is no longer a place where you keep your money and go to bed,
Even NIGERIA as an entity doesnt know where it's heading to.
So WISDOM demand we play safe.

stcool: This company has not been the same after Mr Bunmi Oni, The Managing Director, and Mr Ayo Akadiri, the Finance Director ruined the fortunes of this company in 2007, coupled with their lack of innovation. With the way the company is going, they would request to delist and have the Majority investor take up the company 100%.
One major reason why Long term, sit and fold hand is a mirage in the stock exchange. It happened once it wont happen again. Is that an EPS of 5K? |
