babythug: Have you contacted the department that provides birth certificates to complain and enquire on the next steps? Yes, I have. Would like to know if anyone else has had same issue. The process appears quite complicated and would involve DH coming over. |

mamacajah: Go to the vital records office, give your complaint and they will change it. I can't remember now if your DH is needed as well but call the office and confirm the requirements. Thanks, I did that but the process is quite complicated and might take 3-5 months as it involves changing the last name. |

maideyz: Good day house,
I got my visa approved to the glory of God to have my baby. My intension was to go to Elpaso in Texas,But it seems the cost of accomodation is alot for us to bear. The reservation i have is at 2200 for a period of 8Weeks which makes it $170 per week. I will appreciate if anyone can advise me on a cheaper accomodation at elpaso and also if there is any available mum to share accomodation between june to August.thank you $170 per week and it comes to 2200 for 8 weeks ? are there other charges? have you tried Intown ? |
Career › Re: Difference Between Computer Science And Computer Engineering Course? by Maymum: 1:17pm On Apr 03, 2017 |
I think the answer to your question would be basically where you see yourself and what you really enjoy doing.
If you like writing programs, designing practical solutions to problems, database, system analysis etc, then your best bet is Computer science. You are not taught the hardware but the software part of a computer.
If you like fixing computers, the hardware part of a computer, then go for Computer engineering. Although i would advise that Electrical Electronics Engineering would be more encompassing than Computer Engineering.
How about having a one - one talk with people who studied either Computer science or Computer Engineering. I once faced this dilemma. All the best !!! |

Flowers: I called Emirates office last month when this issue of 32 weeks came up. I just called them again now, the number of weeks for single uncomplicated is 36 weeks. All you need is your fit to fly and signed medical certificate from their website. Please let's always confirm. So many people have bought tickets based on the 36 weeks. Before person go enter high jump. @Dxbconnection: Same here. I have just called them as well. From 29 -36 weeks, you need a medical certificate from a doctor. Some of us will go into panic mode o !!! |

mimimum: My dear, true talk. This deleting of stuff from phones is a life-saver. I always do it. Sometimes, I even carry a new blank phone. Because you can never tell if there is an implicating stuff in there. It might even be an innocent conversation that will be misinterpreted. It has saved me before. It is only in the UK that I don't bother doing such. US officials are gangsta. @Debby516: Thanks, very very helpful. My dear, not only Phones. My purse, handbag and even up to prescribed drugs have been searched and questioned. Once, the airline was called to send down my luggage for further search. Its best to leave out anything that might be easily misunderstood. |

Bootyliciousjay: It's 36 weeks for single pregnancies ( only one baby in the belly) and 32 weeks for multiple pregnancies (2 or more babies in the belly) Ah !!! I am beginning to panic. Another link on their websites states the below, this clause was not stated. I also confirmed from their rep at their office in Lagos before buying my ticket and they confirmed same. Please has anyone traveled beyond 33 weeks for journeys more than 8hrs ? Travelling while pregnant If you are pregnant and plan to travel once you have entered your 29th week of pregnancy, a medical certificate or letter signed by an appropriately qualified doctor or midwife is required, stating: the confirmation of a singleton or multiple pregnancy the pregnancy is progressing without complications the estimated date of delivery the date up to which you are expected to be fit to travel that you are in good health that there is no reason known to them that would prevent you from flying Please note that if you choose not to carry a valid medical certificate, you may not be accepted for travel if there is any doubt about your ability to complete the journey safely. If yours is a multiple pregnancy, no air travel is permitted after the 32nd week of gestation. For single pregnancies, travel after the 36th week of gestation will be permitted only after prior clearance is granted by the Emirates medical department. |

Dear Sisters and brothers on this forum, please i need your advise badly.
For those whose mothers or mother in law have had to apply for visa to be with them at childbirth, is it advisable they apply before or after their daughter's arrival to the US. I am just afraid of stories that touch the heart (visa being cancelled etc), on the other hand, i want to apply earlier enough so we can go together.
Please help !!! |
Family › Re: Who Will You Take Sides With, Me Or My Wife? by Maymum: 3:46pm On Dec 19, 2016 |
I would go with your wife. I think you didn't handle it well. You and your siblings should have quietly let her take the picture and then you (not your siblings) whisper to her that you would like to just take with your siblings. Am sure she would understand.
She has good feelings towards your family and sees herself as a daughter of the family. But it appears she's still been seen as an outsider. I wont be surprised if her attitude to your family changes. Little issues like this can cause a lot of problems especially if the woman in question is a sensitive person.
I guess different families have different ways of operating. I dare not exclude myself if such comes up in my husband's family. My MIL would tell me off. |

Esosawura: Good morning everyone Please I'm in need of advice on what to do. I have been following this thread for a while and did all my research. I had my interview/appointment on Wednesday in Abuja and my visa was denied... Here was how it went ( please pardon the long epistle) VO: Good morning Me: Good morning sir VO: so why are you going to San Antonio Me: to have my baby (as I applied for the b1/b2 medical visa) VO: that's good. Is this your first baby ME: yes it is VO: congratulations. So what do you do for a living Me: I work with Bleep as an xxxx VO: okay. Are you married Me:yes I am VO: have you traveled outside Nigeria before Me: yes I have VO: where to Me: I've been to the uk and Dubai. VO: when was the last time you went to the uk Me: September last year At this point he was trying to go through my passport. I guessed it was to search for my uk visa or confirm what I said. So I gave him my old passport where I still had a valid visa. He smiled. Said thank you after going through it and returned it. VO: so how much will this trip cost you Me : 9800 dollars VO: what does that include Me: hospital, dr and other expenses ( I made a budget sheet but since he didn't request for it I didn't present it to him ) VO: do you have your dr correspondence Me: yes I do. And I gave him the letter from the dr confirming my appointment for March. And also the hospital letter and corespondence He looked pleased so far and i was very optimistic VO: do you have your statement here with you. Me: I have my husbands own as he is my sponsor ( I already stated this when filling the application form. This is cos dh earns more than me) VO: he looked at the statement for a while. Then asked me what my husband does Me: he is a manager at xxxx (The statement we printed was for the duration of 3months and over the period over 14M had passed through the account and the balance was more than enough for my trip) Vo: is this his personal account Me: yes it is I noticed he was looking at the last page of the statement. Then he asked me why money entered the account last week. I told him it's his personal account and the money that entered was even the least amount that has passed through the account over the period of 3months VO: sorry I can't grant ur visa at this time. You can reapply next time
Please mamas and papas, what can I do differently as I'm just confused. I'm due first week of April. Should I apply with hubby and also present my own statement? Should I re apply alone with dh statement and mine? Should I re apply in Lagos? I really don't know what to do. Please I need advice. Thank you. I just have this feeling that these visa denials for Childbirth are deliberate. Everything seems okay with your interview (in my opinion). Too many denials recently. Would advice you reapply and pray for God's favour. All the best. |
