Occurstaem:

What of his achievements in governance?

If you really care to read, goodluck.

We have taken time to extract some of the achievements of the former governor;

Anambra was the first State to commence Sub-Sovereign Wealth savings, the first of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa. At a time many other Governors were leaving huge debts, I left the equivalent of $500 million Dollars in investment as well as local and foreign currency, including $156 million in Dollar-denominated bonds.
For the first time in the history of Anambra State, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of notable countries such as United States, Britain, Russia, European Union, South Africa, Belgium, Israel, the Netherlands, Canada, among others, visited the State. Before my tenure, Anambra was practically a pariah state blacklisted by the Diplomatic Corps and international development partners.
Development partners such as UNDP, UNICEF, the World Bank, DFID, the European Union etc., which hitherto were not in Anambra State started working with the State. Anambra was consistently adjudged one of the best states in development partnership and commitment to reforms for good governance.
He was recognised as Best Governor by the Millennium Development Goals Office (OSSAP-MDGs) and the UNDP in the implementation of their programmes in Nigeria.
The Nigerian Debt Management Office (DMO) rated Anambra as the least indebted state in Nigeria. In spite of visible and measurable achievements recorded in various sectors, the State under him did not borrow or raise bonds for her various projects.
The Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria rated Anambra State as the most financially stable state in the country.
The State’s ground-breaking return of schools to their original owners – Voluntary Agencies (Churches) on 1st January 2009, and subsequent partnership with the Agencies in Education, saw the State move from 24th position out of 36 States to Number One in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Examination Council (WAEC) examinations for three consecutive years. This made the World Bank to commission a study, led by the renowned Prof. Paul Collier of Oxford University, on this revolutionary partnership and phenomenal achievement.
The State also entered into strategic partnership with the Churches in the Health sector. This symbiotic relationship resulted in a tremendous boost to health care because of the services offered by health institutions owned by Voluntary Agencies, while the State restored grants to the agencies and made available to them more than 50 million Dollars in various types of support.
Through partnership with the Church in the Health sector, his Government funded the transformation of -:
a: Iyienu Hospital, Ogidi;

b: Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala;

c: St Charles Borromeo Hospital, Onitsha;

d: Holy Rosary Hospital, Waterside, Onitsha; and

e: St. Joseph Hospital, Adazi-Nnukwu.

His Government also built the Joseph Nwilo Heart Centre in St. Joseph, Adazi-Nnukwu, where heart operations are now being performed.

His Government won the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (1 Million dollars) as the best-performing state in immunisation in the South-East. With complementary funding from our Government, they used the money to build 10 Maternal and Child Care Centres across the State, particularly in rural communities, in partnership with the Churches.
The State was the first to procure and distribute more than 30,000 computers to secondary schools, including 22,500 from HP. The Managing Director for Personal Systems Group HP Inc, Mr. FabriceCampoy described the deployment as the biggest of such projects in the Middle-East and Africa.
Anambra State Government provided Microsoft Academies to more than 500 secondary schools, which the Head of Microsoft in Nigeria (Mr. Ken Span) described as the biggest such deployment in Africa so far.
The State provided Internet access to more than 500 secondary schools, which the CEO of Galaxy Backbone (Mr. Gerald Ilukwe) characterized as incomparable to any in the country.
More than 700 buses were provided to secondary schools in the State by our Government.
Boreholes were provided in schools all over the State.
Numerous classrooms were built in all the 177 communities of the State.

17 As part of the efforts to turn around the economy of the State, a number of companies were attracted to build their facilities in the Anambra State. A case in point is SABMiller, the 2nd largest brewery in the world, which built their first Green Field facility in the State, which is today one of the most successful facilities they operate globally.

A number of other companies followed the SABMiller initiative and were all supported and encouraged under our Government; a good example is INNOSON Motor Manufacturing Company, from which our government bought more than 1,000 vehicles.
Anambra State for the first time started close collaboration with recognized government security agencies (the Police, Army, Navy, Department of State Security, Civil Defence, among others), offering them various types of support including provision of more than 500 security vehicles. The improvement in security was phenomenal, such that the former IG of Police (Abubakar Mohammed) lauded Anambra State for not witnessing any bank robbery in my last three years in office.
To further enhance security, Anambra State provided at least one security vehicle to each of all the 177 communities in the State as well as various organizations such as markets and Churches.
His Administration conceived and built, from scratch, the first state-owned Teaching Hospital, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu teaching Hospital, Awka.
His Government commenced the planned development of the Igbariam Campus of the ChukwuemekaOdumegwu-Ojukwu University, including the fencing, construction of internal roads, electrification, construction of the Faculty of Law, Auditorium, Administrative Block, Faculty of Agriculture, Management Building, among others).
His Government attracted the World Bank support on erosion – National Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) – to Anambra State.
His Government was the first to do Poverty Mapping in Nigeria, as a guide for the effective implementation of our poverty-alleviation strategies.
His Government, for the first time, undertook the aerial mapping of Awka as well as the production of Structure Plans for Awka Capital Territory, Onitsha and Nnewi.
During his tenure and with his Government’s support, Anambra State became an oil producing State.
He built the first Secretariat Complex to house State Government Ministries that were hitherto scattered around the State.
His government commenced the development of the ‘Three Arms Zone’ comprising Government House/Governor’s Lodge, Legislative Building/Speakers Residence, and Judiciary Building with Chief Judge’s Residence.
By the end of his tenure in 2014, more than twelve (12) health institutions, including two hospitals, had secured accreditation; when we took off in 2006, no health institution in Anambra State was duly accredited.
Anambra State was the first to undergo national peer review, which scrutinised State Governments for good governance, through the State Peer Review Mechanism (SPRM), an initiative of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum in collaboration with the DFID.

Most of this award cost less than a million naira, they are buyable awards, only the bill and Melinda gates Foundation award which is meant for polio prone people, even Igbo, south east and Anglican awards?

So you telling me peter obi bought awards and tinubu couldn't buy?

Since tinubu can buy votes and delegates, why didn't he buy the awards??

Biggest joke I have heard this morning.

How exactly is Tinubu your "enemy"? You call yourself MayorOfDelta yet how is Tinubu your enemy ahead of GEJ who watched , despite being the most influential Bayelsan ever, as Bayelsa slipped into the category of States classified as failed and unsustainable going forward?

Qith tour utterances here I think you are admitting you're a creature of blind hate rather than a measured and principled person who knows what matters in life.

Lol, I think you will need a lot of us to ask such question...

How is tinubu ahead of Gej, except being a godfather and Lagos state former government?

You removed my brother by campaigning against him and urged your people to embraced a Fulani man, then the dullard won and ran the country into total abysmal and come around and start campaigning for yourself... And you expect us to ass lick you because you are jagaban Never!! we don't spare betrayers..

The funny part is that you guys want us to fight against SE. The thing is we know our enemies and our friends, we don't shout it. We will make our stans when necessary....

No reasonable SS fight against SE when it comes to election, we all vote in the same pattern and hate the same opponent...

Check myself for what exactly? Tell me why it is Igbos, for example, of all Nigerians, who are the most insultive towards Tinubu who has never harmed them or administered any SE State.

They literally foam at the mouth with vile hate for Tinubu. I am sure you see nothing wrong with that.

Bottom line is that you're a dishonest person. You should learn to say the truth and stop deceiving yourself.

If you think it is only igbos that hate tinubu, it means you are being delusional or living in denial..

Over here in Benin city, if tinubu happened to enter the city, he will be stoned.... Most of us in ss hate tinubu...

Because we don't throw words around does not mean we don't know our enemy.

This is the reality Igbos never want to accept.

For example, Igbos have a bad reputation across Africa because they will fight and try to usurp the authority of their hosts wherever they find themselves.

It is because of Igbos that Ghanaians now even know the different ethnicities of Nigeria. Just ask any Ghanaian.

Nigerians love lying to themselves hence the reason we have a fcked up nation. For that reason I don't take the denial of Igbos seriously.

Nigeria is lit anyway so we will see how the future pans out. What I know is that we must embrace a more equitable path going forward or our nation will become worse than Afghanistan or Somalia.

You know that you are just making this up by yourself..

Ghanaians know the ethnic groups in Nigeria because of Igbos
grin grin

I swear you can't prove that..

Yorubas with hate are more hateful than the proclaimed hateful igbos..

That is good, you can say whatever makes you sleep at night.

Abeg shut up. Nothing Igbos have done anywhere outside SE Nigeria they did for any reason other than for their own benefit.

When you can tell me why it is only Igbos who go around fighting their host wherever they go, be it in Accra or Nairobi, then we can talk.

Maybe Lagos state installed Joe igbokwe for his own personal needs.

The igbos here in Benin city do not fight us..
I have stayed in Delta, port Harcourt and I am currently in Benin city.. I have not seem Igbo people fighting the locals and wanting to dominant them or being hateful towards them.

Maybe you should check yourself..

There must be something wrong with you that angered them over there. So fix that.

Bro, do you know how many child soldiers, who have killed, have made it to the West under refugee schemes to then become productive members of society?

Fulanis are victim of leaders like Buhari who fail to be more Awolowo-like in disposition.

When the Fulani insecurity menace was raging, Tinubu suggested modern ranching to make Fulanis herdsmen educated and deliberate livestock businessmen farmers who can multiply wealth for society and replicate systems we see in nations like Holland, UK, USA etal.

Buhari instead insisted "no going back on grazing routes".

Fulanis are victims of their birth and societal practices foisted on them from birth. Igbos are not. That is the big difference. Fulanis come from a culture where they go into pastoral nomadism, exposure to disease/deprivation and illiteracy as children.

Education is shunned and they are pushed into a life of illiteracy, vagrancy, exploitation and insensitivity almost from birth.

Whereas Igbos are largely educated and raised in traditional ordered society,in the majority, yet they still remain hateful of all around them.

I am not making excuses for Fulanis but I see them as capable of being better human beings than Igbos if educated and involved in normal society as Igbos are.

There is no way anyone can argue that Igbos, on evidence of what we see from them, are not the most aberrant and disruptive Nigerians of all those who live in traditionally ordered society which precludes the life of nomadism and illiteracy most Fulanis are born into and cannot escape.

With what you just said here.. Obviously you hate the Igbo as tribe and you are ready to cover up flaws of others in order to taunt igbos.

I am not Igbo.. I am a Deltan, I have lived with Igbos, when I was in PH, I had come across them and had business and association with them. With what you bombarded about them, I feel like I met the wrong igbos.

There is nothing education can do for or with a Fulani man.. May be you should look at the students in sokoto that killed their fellow student over a religious issue....

sotomayor.. If this ongoing presidential election saga had not taught you that Yoruba people are tribalists in nature, I don't know what will teach you that again.

Just look at how he rubbished a tribe that has nothing to do with the thread.

Not only that, he also acknowledging and patting the back and nerves of those causing terrorism and backwardness in this country in order to spite the igbos.

He is even saying the igbos are not beneficial to him than the Fulani..

Ask him how in any way has a Fulani man help or contributed in terms of development in Lagos state or his state.. Rather than killings and bigotry. Maybe he should take a look at kwara state and see how fulanis have been beneficial to them...

Nairaland / General / Apartment: Twitter User Asking For Suggestion On Apartment Hunting(see Reactions by MayorOfDelta(m): 6:31pm On Jul 30, 2022
Here is a Lady named Nwamaka tweeting and asking for suggestions from users on choices to make concerning her apartment hunting:

She tweets : "Guys quick question. I’m apartment hunting and I’ve found two very lovely places. My budget is £800 a month.

Apartment A. 15 minutes walk from my office. Fully furnished and has a balcony. £800.

Apartment B. Zero furniture. 6 minutes walk from my office. £725.

Help me..??"

Below are answers she got :

Aisha Yusuf : "Apartment A
By the time you buy furniture you will be paying more than that 75 difference monthly
When you are moving where will you be carrying the furniture to?
Also 15 minutes walk means 30 minutes exercise everyday so you might not need a gym
Balcony to sit back and set goals "

Sharon Wilson : "Apartment A. There isn’t much difference between 15 minutes and 6 minute. Nothing beats a fully furnished apartment.

Will the difference between £800 & £725 be enough to furnish your entire apartment? I really don’t think so.

Go with A girl. Send us pics when you move in"

UG : "Apartment B, you save £900/yr multiplied by how many years you live in that apartment. Also the furniture would be your property should you buy your own apartment or renting another apartment."

He claimed that the furniture is also an asset should in case you are moving out you can sell it out to others wanting for it :

"Living abroad, people get to live in different locations over a certain period of time for work, social, financial or other purposes, until they purchase their own house. So pre-owning furnitures comes handy, which can be resold as secondhand afterwards."

P! tweets: "Owning furniture in America is really not all that big of a seal lol. Your next place might be furnished then you won’t know what to do with it."

MADIBA : "Chai! See the kind problems wey pipu dey get.
God when?
Is my own different?
Or You have disowned me without me knowing?
Abeg nau"

True, I don't really apply all the teachings in all scenario. You ought to know when and where to apply all these redpills kind of stuff because everyone is not the same. We have the Good and the Bad. You have to apply wisdom in order not to lose the good ones.

Let me give you guys a perfect and real life "illustration" of what I am trying to say.

There is this guy in our hostel, I noticed he is a redpiller and I hardly see him talk with women or have anything to do with them, only on rare occasions. There is this new girl that just came into our hostel, initially this guy and the girl were talking and greeting each other until one day, I was just sitting around the corner. The girl came in and greeted everybody except the guy, at first I thought I didn't noticed when she greeted him but from the guy countenance, all is not well.

So later, I found out that he and the girl do not talk to each other again, I couldn't get the reason but I have talked and had sometimes with this girl, she is not bad, she is quite churchy and also nice but I don't know why the guy is having issue with her.

Recently, I discovered from some people around that the guy is always negative towards women and that is why we don't see women or girls with him.

And I am wondering how such a person will see a good woman or even get married?

Romance / What Is The Mystery You Had When You Were Young/little? by MayorOfDelta(m): 10:54am On Jul 29, 2022
I have never seen my mom pregnant despite have four younger ones. I always thought my mom had a power and way of producing her own since she gave birth to my junior bro.

I am the second child of my mother, she later birthed four more children, I have never seen her heavily pregnant like a normal pregnant woman.. I remembered being told by my dad that mummy had given birth for like three times in several occasions and as little as I am with no knowledge of how " the thing is been done", I always thought my mum just pull out a baby from where ever she brings it out from..

NB: I HAVE BEEN IN A LABOUR ROOM WITH MY MOM(I can remembered perfectly well when I was small, I was in a hospital with my dad, mom and my junior brother because my mom was sick(I thought that was the reason we were there). We sat somewhere in the hospital, I saw my mom going somewhere with some nurses, she was not walking fine and I was worried and I couldn't ask anybody what was going on. Next is I saw my dad hurrying towards them and at the same time telling me to look after my junior brother..

Sometimes later, I heard a loud cry. I didn't need a prophet or some kind special ability to tell me that it was my mom.. The cry persisted, I ran to the direction the cry was coming from leaving my junior bro at a corner. I was able to locate the room, I entered , immediately I saw my mom lying on a bed. Before I could notice any other thing, my dad saw me and dragged me out of the room with immediate force and that was all I could remember..

It was later, around 10 or 11 years of my life I understood the process grin.. I didn't have someone to teach me all that when I was small, my elder bro died when I was 2 or so, so nobody was directing my life and way to see things apart from my mom and dad..

I later discovered that my mom can be pregnant with little or no visible protruding belly. That there some women blessed with such feature. It could be noticed if you are closer to person. But an outsider can't easily know.
