Most Bschools now accept the GRE in lieu of the GMAT, even the likes of harvard, stanford, wharton, MIT etc. But a high test score does not guarantee admission, a lot of other factors are also considered when it comes to Bschools one of which is WE.

House I still dey wait o
CareerRe: From Medicine To Finance: Looking For A Job by mayorteeny(op): 12:59pm On Feb 22, 2012
An MBA is definitely part of my plans but even with a 1500 on the GRE you know how tough it is to be admitted into a top 3 mba program, having relevant WE counts both for admission and getting a job post mba especially for a non traditional applicant like myself who wants to go into finance post mba.

@violent

grin grin Lmao at your previous comment. grin grin

Physicians do actually do a lot of Non clinical jobs, yes finance jobs inclusive! Just go through the MBB (mckinsey, bain and bcg)  consulting websites and that of Goldman Sachs or JP Morgan chase and you may have a better understanding of what I am saying.

Anway since I am looking to go into healthcare financing in the long run a PE/VC opportunity is my first choice, followed by IBanking.  I am however very much open to other opportunities in the field of finance.

I hope fortune still favours the brave grin

Ok will withdraw 'only' and replace it with 'among the few'. But then the calendar of UI is slower. A class mate of mine in sec school who got admission together with me is about 6 months slower and will be approx. 1year on graduation

But like I said most of what I know about other schools is by interaction with other med students and not a 1st hand experience
Your friend probably had an "accident" along the way. Unibadan has one of the fastest medical school calendars in the country, I am a witness to that.

Unilorin does not go on strikes but after the first MB they spend months at home before going to clinical school

People who called you names may offer a million apologies, it still would not solve the problem. No amount of self-flagellation on their part will bring back the lives of those who have been lost to the growing insecurity, remove corruption from our society or set this country on the part of prosperity.

Now more than ever we need to put aside our differences- religious, political, tribal, etc- and ACT as ONE for the benefit of NIGERIA

Not everyone who voted for this government is satisfied with the turn of events so far.

As I said earlier this movement has no race, no gender, no political affiliations, this is Nigerians taking back their country. Its that simple

HealthRe: Medical Council Outlaws Strike For Doctors by mayorteeny: 11:20pm On Jul 07, 2011
This MDCN folks are nothing but a bunch of idiots whose power of cerebration has been clogged by the "owanbe Ghana Must Go Bags" of the government. In "saner" climes their would be no need for this grandstanding "law" of theirs because their would be no strikes in the first place.

Imagine spending 8yrs (6yrs + 1yr of housemanship + another year of silly almost completely useless compulsory service) and at the end its almost like you have nothing to show for it,  no decent jobs, working environment is bullshit, no drugs, no equipments, no light, and of course no life. It all gets very frustrating while some halfwit who doesn''t even know how to spell 'John Bull' carts away hundreds of millions because he is a Big man government official.

Hippocratic oath my foot, this buffoons have also forgotten that a clause in the Hippocratic Oath says that "I will not do anything contrary to the law of nature". If I dont have anything to work it, if I am not appreciated (not to even talk of being properly paid), If my patients keep dying because they cannot afford simple drugs and procedures that will save their lives simply because successive governments have been highly irresponsible. Gentlemen If after repeated dialogue, threats and pleading I go on strike because I just cannot take it anymore have I done anything contrary to the law of nature? Nay

what about me? what about my own children? what about my wife,  what about my parents, my brothers, my sisters? or u think they are all doctors? think again. Will the garri seller or okada man "understand" when I tell him I have no money so I cant pay him because I am a doctor? Yet everyday only me attends to close to 140 pregnant women, do u seriously expect that I will be able to spend quality time with each one of them? Of course not.

Fellow Nigerians Gird your loins because the brain-drain is about to escalate, I just cant do this anymore.

subsequent levels are not as expensive. their are actually 3 levels.

You can save up for the exam if you really want to write it. I hope this answers your question, cos me sef I be JJC
