vincent561:That is rote learning |
Wonderfully wonderful |
We complain of so many problems befalling the nation, even as we celebrate the 54th years of independence today, some are saying that the nation is still in bondage, due to political unrest, corruption, terrorism, and so many other related practices. We have all forgotten the message in the "motto" of the nation - unity and faith, peace and progress. Those FOUR great words are portraying a very great message which is not yet understood by many Nigerians, they are positioned in a way that one cannot omit, or loop over anyone of them. So many problems are befalling the nation today due to our ignorance of the message in the nation's motto. Today, we talk of terror, tomorrow we complain of corruption, and so on, but we have never for once looked into the cause or proffer solutions to the problems, all we do is criticize the government. Well, let's remember the recent Ebola case that surfaced in Nigeria, the Federal Government(FG) immediately released funds, the Lagos State Government ( LASG) also plunged into action by creating awareness and isolation centres in collaboration with the FG. As of today, we can boldly say that there is no Ebola case in Nigeria, assuming the PDP led FG was still accusing the APC led LASG of one thing or the other that made the man find his way into Nigeria or the other way round, we may still be having Ebola cases in some states in Nigeria today, but because they were united and we had faith that we can do it, the nation was able to combat the disease. The bottom line is if we are not united, there will be no peace, and there won't be progress. "United we stand, divided we fall". Happy New Month and Happy Independence day Nigeria. Proudly Nigerian. |
lharstborn: Thanks bro, I appreciate...but how can we be objective in our criticisms and detailed analyses if we can't be specific? It's true, but this is Nigeria, the giant of Africa. You know what I mean |
lharstborn: The country's educational system needs a total overhaul. From the teachers training colleges to the colleges of education and finally to the universities. Go to an average College of education and see the rot there,no infrastructure,no manpower etc. I was at the Federal College of Education Abeokuta a while ago and the campus looked like a poultry farm,(no insults intended). How can one expect a student to learn under such enviroment.?Bro, u made a point, but next time don't be specific, this is a social platform and anything you post here can be assessed anywhere in the world. |
As a teacher trainee, I have always been looking forward to a government that will take education as its top priority and look into the welfare of teachers because I can boldly say that to improve the standard of education, the teachers have a lot of things to do, so if they are not motivated, they won't be able to deliver maximally. *My humble suggestion* |
ashson: 7: Tips for Passing Your English Language Exam by Dame Patience Jonathan.I think this should be titled "A1 in English Language" Nigeria Centenary edition |
well said. The bible also made us to know that we are all priests, so we can dialogue with God ourselves. D issue of worshipping pastors is common among those who av not had a genuine encounter with God. Because the bible made us to know that d hand of d Lord is not too small nor His ear too short to hear us, but one thing that makes it difficult for us to communicate with him is our sin, bcuz that's what he hates most. |
OK, exposure things. Expose them asap |
sincerely, this got me laughing. A situation whereby you are expecting something better and something worse replaces it. |

It may work in other countries, not in Nigeria. it amounts to exploitation, at the long run, it will all be embezzled by unknown forces in government. |
