I hope the referee tonight isn't from the North African side because all their poor decisions seem to go against Nigerian team.

I heard from a close source that the red card Jonathan Pitroipa sustained while playing against Ghana was annulled. Can anyone confirm? Even if, I don't see him posing a threat to our boys. The super eagles at this level of tournament should bulldozer anyone or anything that impedes in their way to success. This cup is coming to Abuja first thing tomorrow morning!

Kajina: Ghanaians are BLACK and proud of it, while Nigerians are BLACK and ashamed of it so you make yourselves brown.(

Hello Sir,

Sorry to bust your ego mate but most Ghanaians I know here in the UK have great inferiority complex. The reason why I say so is because majority of them will prefer a white woman to a beautiful black woman. Also, most of the white women that Ghanaian guys date and eventually get married to are the chubby, unattractive and classless ones that no white man would ever want to date. Ghanaians love mix raced children and this is the reason they are attracted more to women of other races as opposed to a beautiful well packaged African queen. When you watch Ghanaian movies, you will notice that their top stars have mixed parentage in them with the exception of Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah and John Dumelo. Do you guys think your movie industry will look better because you have mixed raced actors? Skin colour doesn't make someone but it's what you are able to make of yourself that counts. Just asking because you guys have this huge inferiority complex, self hate and too much arrogance. Also, Ghanaians love to bow to the superiority of the so called white man. Have I ever seen a Nigerian doing that? I don't think so and I am being honest. Nigerians hold their heads high up anywhere they go to outside of the shores of Africa. Nigerians are so proud of being Nigerians, so proud that people misinterpret their genuine intention and call them bush. I don't need to study Ghanaians, I know them. So you guys should watch it.

Honestly, I read comments on this forum, lurk around without getting involved in any malarkey between people on this forum who agree to disagree but I hate it when someone tries to play the smart guy here especially one who finds it hard to swallow his puffed up pride. Lastly, I think Nigerians accommodate you guys so much that you shouldn't be taking the piss! Just saying.

Sorry, but your ill-founded opinion about Nigerians being Black and ashamed of it is simply myopic.

Sports / Re: Cote D'ivoire , Tunisia, Algeria . Togo - AFCON 2013 Group D by mcobinad(m): 11:54pm On Jan 26, 2013
I watched the match Togo vs Algeria from the beginning right to the end. The Togolese played a fantastic football despite the fact that Algeria kept them under pressure. They were physically able to withstand the adrenaline of the Algerians despite the over-time. The super eagles of Nigeria do not have the technical ability to withstand pressure anymore. I bet that if it were the Super Eagles that opened the score and were leading like 1-0 against their opponent, Algeria would have found a way to break through, equalise the goal and still win the match. Nigerian team does not have the composure and the ability to defend well right to the end like the Togolese team did. They just seem to lose the grip that bonds them together and create unnecessary chances for their opponents to take advantage of them. Gone are the days when Nigeria will score more than two goals in a row in a match at least to secure a perfect victory. Now we are in a tight corner against Ethiopia. It's a shame how Nigeria football no longer solicit or arouse interest in Africa or in the International arena. Our football team has gone down the drain and our team is now compared to the mediocrity of young developing teams of Africa. It's pitiable! Really gutted. angry

I vowed ages ago never to watch Nigeria play football after our early exit at the world cup but for some reason I still continue to watch them play out of Patriotism and the hope that they will improve and bounce back again. As usual they continue to reap my heart apart. Same mistake tonight cost us the match against Greece at the world cup when we were comfortably taking the lead. Suddenly, we were down to 10 players and all of a sudden Greece came from behind and sealed the match with a perfect victory. The dribbling skills to penetrate the defence that our vintage players demonstrated back in the day are long gone. None of the players of today are able to demonstrate sheer tactical ability. I always go on youtube whenever I am demoralised like this to watch Nigeria vs Brazil and Nigeria vs Argentina (Atlanta 96) to revive fun memories.

Nigeria played against another African country and not France. They tend to use energetic black brothers when it comes to sports. Shame on them. France learn to produce players that have European features. Don't go steal our french brothers from Côte d'ivoire, Sénégal and Mali to represent your lazy bottom and let's see if your players can hold their breathe in the next 45mins.

@GenBuhari,

This is a blatant excuse. The Biafra/Nigeria war only commenced in the year 67. Do you mean to tell me that the eastern part of Nigeria was in war before this date? Am yet to learn about this. Please @OP, am still expecting pictures of the entire eastern part of Nigeria before Nigerian independence. I want to see it's infrastructures back in the day.

Please can the original poster post pictures of Anambra state, Imo state, Abia state, Enugu state or infact the east in general? All the photos here seem to stem from Ibadan, lagos and the North. Were these areas only the developed parts of Nigeria in the 60/70's? Or was the east a savannah? People should learn to show Nigeria as a whole and not concentrating on a tiny proportion of a country to represent the entire nation. Am yet to see how the east looked like back in the day. Until then, i would say these photos are irrational.

@naijaspeak

Listen up man. You sound frustrated and pathetic. The Igbo's made Sam Loco Efe what he was , get it?. If he decided to represent the Igbo culture, what the hell is wrong with that? How many Igbo children born in Lagos state represent the east? Alot of Igbo children promote the Yoruba culture rather than their own. It's a fundamental human right, as far as Nigeria is concerned. It's still the same Nigeria that we all represent. Alot of Nigerian kids born in the UK, born to Nigerian parents would rather be called English than Nigerian. Although, this might sound offensive to truly patriotic Nigerian parents but it's their right because they choose to represent the country they were born into. Sam Loco Efe chose to represent the Igbo's because he was born in Enugu State in Nigeria. It's his right to identify with the Igbos. The problem with our people is that they love division. The spirit of hatred for other ethnicities is what governs alot of Nigerians. In the national team as well, the same attitude reigns, everyone wants a bucket loads of players to hail from their state of origin instead of looking into the talent and capacity of the individual in question. This is a big shame. Ok, i admit, our forefathers were racist & tribalistic towards their fellow black brothers from a different ethnic background but this should not apply to the younger generation of today. Come to Europe and see what is happening here. A black man will always remain a black man in the eyes of the white. Whether you hail from Urhobo or the east, you are all the same "Black men in the eyes of the whites".

Even the Caribbeans who tend to feel superior to Africans understood this concept ages ago and they are now identifying with Africans for our common interest. Black people are coming together to promote their culture. I might be Nigerian, but i wholeheartedly promote Africa and not Nigeria alone.  All i can smell in you is pure hatred for the Igbo culture, tribalism at it's climax and jealousy. Probably, this is the reason why my man Sam Loco Efe did not identify with your clan. In my family, we do not entertain such racism or discrimination. We are very open people ready to embrace other cultures. My wife isn't even Nigerian and i don't see a problem with that at all. She is from Mauritius Island a mixture of Guadeloupe a French Caribbean Island. All i see in her is a beautiful mix race black woman and she represents Nigeria to the core because she understands the precept of promoting the African culture. This is 2011, grow up man and seek counselling.

You would have used this login ID : "Urhobospeak" instead of "naijaspeak". Honestly, the likes of you do not do any good to "Nairaland".

This is a demise. Am in a state of quagmire, quandary and totally discombobulated. Uncle Sam had a conspicuous way of reaching out to people with his jaw-breaking grammatology & great humour. He had a suave personality and he is the reason i watch Nollywood movies. I pray your sense of humour will permeate throughout the entertainment industry and more people will be willing to emulate your foot steps. Very devoted & educated man who voices out the English language with great enthusiasm, poise and very articulate. Am still finding it difficult to believe Uncle Sam is history. I have always watched his movies with an oxford dictionary in the hand. If not for anything uncle Sam, you contributed tremendously towards my success in education. You gave me the reason to love grammar and use it with great cojones. Uncle sam, I have not had a plethora of your vocabularies. Why did you depart so soon @ 66? No one out there can equate to your level of interlading grammar with humour. Let your soul find peace wherever it goes. I miss you so much my father of vocabulary & humour. You will always be remembered and your legacy will be spoken of to the future generations. smiley

How much is it trading for? Does it have a factory fitted Bluetooth and Ipod Connection? Are the alloy wheels "19" AMG?
