I admire your patriotism/optimism but you'll be disappointed. This team won't make it past this group stage. I want to be wrong though.

You're a blind bat. The SE played with 10 men with half the game still on, after the most unjustified red card you will ever see in a game. They had to then go defensive, and it's very hard doing that for half the game.

GO AS THE ARAB REFEREE WHAT HIS MOTIVES WERE FOR CHEATING THE NIGERIAN TEAM.

I don't know if Siasia is better than keshi; that may even sound revisionist as Siasia had his own struggles. One thing you can't take from Siasia, however, is that his team had an identity. They tried to play football. I don't like the system Keshi employs. Long balls to fast wingers/powerful strikers. Too elementary. Had a tough time imposing that on the Burkinabes today , imagine how it would be against a more formidable side.

These super chickens sef...see how they wasted a golden opportunity to top the group. They have just postponed the evil day..Anywayz,I take consolation in the fact that the Zambians werent all that spectacular against the Ethopians today..If ethopia could get an equalizer with 10 men against Zambia, then i believe there is still hope for Nigeria..but the bone of contention here is whether the eagles would be up to the task and step up their game against Zambia..The zambians are wounded lions at the moment. My fear is that they would want to vent their anger in the next match .

And they had a coach on the bench, deep in slumber.

Gbengazzee: I blamed the midfield and striker for not holding their place. If they had initiate more attacking football, no one would have noticed we had a weak defence. Also selfishness on the part of the strikers especially Uche, he has no reason to shot wide at goal on two occassions, when he has a team mate closer to him and in better position to score.

I just pray we qualify from this group but not expecting this team to win this tournament.
You people should not over exaggerate their performance as very poor. I was quite impressed with Nigeria until they gave the game away considering that they were a man down for a long time. But there is a very fine line between winning a game and getting a less favourable result.

If Uche was a bit more relaxed and composed in front of goal, Nigeria would have killed the game off earlier and we would had been talking a different game now altogether.
But with just one goal advantage, there is always a chance that you might concede. Remember that Zambia conceded an equalizer to Ethiopia, even with a man advantage and they are the defending champions and your team didn't even make the last time. There is no small nations anymore in football, a draw against the Burkinabes are not A DISGRACE.
Remember that Cameroon is not here and it was Cape Verde that knock them out to be here.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?

NIGERIA WERE LUCKY NOT TO GO DOWN TO 9 MEN, THE GUY WHO STEPPED ON THE PLAYERS THIGH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A STRAIGHT RED AND THE CARD CAME HALF WAY THROUGH THE 2ND HALF AND YES IT WAS THE WORST EAGLES EVER...
Re: AFCON: Nigeria Vs Burkina Faso (1 - 1) On 21st January 2013 by elampiro(m): 10:48pm On Jan 21, 2013
Nigeria had the ball at the opponents corner flag area 15 seconds to final whistle (93.45), the exact place everyone prays for the ball to be at the time. Nigeria had two players there against one to keep the ball for a long time, why take it into the 18 area to try and score again. Inexperience or over confidence.

Well, in 1990 Westerhof lost his first match tp Algeria 5-1 and went on to build the strongest eagles ever. This teams has speed and digressiveness, we have not seen that for over 15 years. I want to believe this is all part of the rebuilding process.

I vowed ages ago never to watch Nigeria play football after our early exit at the world cup but for some reason I still continue to watch them play out of Patriotism and the hope that they will improve and bounce back again. As usual they continue to reap my heart apart. Same mistake tonight cost us the match against Greece at the world cup when we were comfortably taking the lead. Suddenly, we were down to 10 players and all of a sudden Greece came from behind and sealed the match with a perfect victory. The dribbling skills to penetrate the defence that our vintage players demonstrated back in the day are long gone. None of the players of today are able to demonstrate sheer tactical ability. I always go on youtube whenever I am demoralised like this to watch Nigeria vs Brazil and Nigeria vs Argentina (Atlanta 96) to revive fun memories.

1990 Westerhor took a team of HOME BASE players to Algiers and got to the final and they passed and moved, under Keshi, he took a group of professional players and managed to put out a team that cannot string 4 or 5 passes in a row!!!
