It is as simple as proving by some mathematical formula how water can remain water and the same time be fire, or how a stone can be a stone and at the same time be water too. I do not think any sensible man on earth can ever conceive such a stupid possibility.
The cross is the basic formula and symbol of the Christian Faith this symbol like the trinity/Matrix is beyond the grasp of human reason. One should believe in the doctrine only by one’s heart and mind! undecided

It is a pity you did not observed your NYSC in the North, I did my own in the South, Bayelsa. I have seen a lot of NYSC members that stayed put (in the North) after their NYSC, a lot came back despite the Shariah. mind asking them why.

You are not the only one that is confused. The problem with the Bible is that the part you understand most is the part that confused you the most. The Bible with is various doctrine are meant to be beyond the grasp of human reason. You are expected to believe in the doctrines only by one’s heart and mind. You have no choice of even questioning the practicability of all the inconceivable dogmas.

You should ask your self:

Is the Bible the book which Jesus wrote as a scripture revealed by God?
Did Jesus order or desire at any time in his life to write anything on his behalf?
Was the Bible written during the life of Jesus?
Was the Bible written immediately after the departure of Jesus?
The answer to all four questions is NO.

That’s why it is called the WORLD BESTSELLER

Any Muslim, who wants to practice his/her religion and expresses the pious desire to live under the banner of Islam, is labeled a fundamentalist or extremist.

Any Muslim man who walks down a busy street in London or Paris is looked upon as being a terrorist who's probably got an AK47 stashed somewhere on his person.
Muslim women who are veiled are being taunted as being oppressed or being mad (for covering up).

However, are such beliefs and opinions about Islam really justified?
In the Qur'an, Allah also says:

"So obey not the disbelievers, but make a great jihad (effort) against them by preaching with it (the Qur'an)"
(Surah Al-Furqan 25:52)

"… when it is said to them; 'Make not mischief on the Earth', they say; 'We are only peace makers'. Indeed they are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive it not" (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:11-12)

"And fight in the way of Allah those who fight you. But do not transgress the limits. Truly Allah loves not the transgressors"

The taking of ones life which Allah has given as a trust to the human, is a great sin. Likewise the taking of other lives (which is so often the case with suicide bombing) is also forbidden, as human life is indeed precious: Also some are under the misconception that by killing oneself for an Islamic cause, one commits an act which deserves Paradise. Once when a man killed himself, the Prophet (saws) said: "He is a dweller of the Fire".

Reminder : Not all Muslims are Arab, not all Arab are Muslims.

Supporters of ordaining gays believe the Bible's social justice teachings take precedence over its view of sexuality.

There is a difference between debate and prejudice/ hostility. Debate is to discuss something with some positive objective while prejudice is a preconceived negative notion, or hostility.
What is being discussed in Naialand can’t be termed as a debate but sheer oozing out venom or giving lent to pent up feelings of hostility based on preconceived, ill founded notion with a prejudiced mind. This is what Seun should note. People are using Nairaland as a platform for expressing anti Islamic sentiments. You call this threat, expressing my own opinion without offensive language and advising a young entrepreneurship like Seun against people who want to erode the basic principle of Niarland. I object the scraping of the religion forum, but I like to see a more human conduct, zero tolerance on sheer hatred.

The Christian’s bible, i.e KJV including the four official gospels was corrupted over centuries by short sighted human beings who had their eyes set on temporal gains such as political or social influence. This is also the views of the best modern scholars of the biblical text and latest video documentary that tends to refutes the basic dogma of Christianity. A Nigerian Historian is currently writing a book on the K J V. In the various texts of the gospel alone, text that are, by the way written in Greek, and not the Aramaic that was actually spoken by Jesus. There are over three thousand textual disagreement, and clear evidence of extensive alteration by many hands over a period of many years. I personally regard the KJV as a combination of the Word of God, Word of Jesus, and Word of Man / Historians.
