@Freeman67
The transfer form given to you to sign is a signature specimen form, just like the lady told you.
I got to know this when I was processing my e-dividend form with Africa Prudential and they requested for my signature specimen.
I contacted my broker and that was the form sent to me to sign only the "transferor's side' only. They are to fill the remaining section for you by themselves cos they know what and what to fill. This will be attached to your CSCS statement and forwarded to the registrar by your broker.
Pay the token fee and spare yourself unnecessary stress cos there's no way you can by-pass your broker where signature specimen is involved.

1st let me commend ur effort in always trying to lend a helping hand to the newbies in our midst.
...Ur doing a nice job. Pls keep it up !!
However, ur description with the part in bold fits a different kind of mandate called; GOOD TILL CANCELLED(GTC) order or where the timeframe is definite, a GOOD TILL DAY(GTD) order.
...the former runs indefinitely but can be called-off in between, while the latter runs within a one day timeframe but can not be called off.
The term FILL OR KILL(FOK) defines an order that must execute the moment it was made or it automatically cancels.
In retrospect, u are instructing the system to either execute the order NOW(the fill part) or LEAVE IT(the kill part
Thanks Sir OGG for the compliment and the detailed analysis as well as the correction.
You're right. Think my description fits more into "Good till filled".
We however have another option which is "immediate or cancel", I assume there's slight difference btw this and "fill or kill".

I have learned from this explaination, today I was able to execute myself a buy order grin .it feels good to take charge........
Meanwhile I saw fill or kill ,abeg can u explain further on this so we can keep learning from ur wealth of experience.thanks dear
Good you can trade by yourself now. Everyone using Morgan should learn to execute trades by themselves.

I think you should not use "fill or kill" cos it will keep your buy or sell order locked for many days until it's filled or executed.
Disadvantage includes inability to cancel it or modify the price, even if you see the price coming crashing down or skyrocketing.

Just to chip this in, Morgan Capital already set the defaults to "Day" and "Limit", no need to visit those columns again (except you want to buy at market price), all you do is to enter your quantity, the coy ticker and set the price to your desired target.
Hope this helps. smiley

Thanks so much and I've been following and learning...
You mentioned something about live trading..please can you share more light??
Live trade is a page where you can:
* Watch what's going on in the market by yourself.
* Check bid/offer volume for each stock by clicking on the particular stock.
* Execute your trades i.e. you can buy, sell, cancel or modify a trade order.

I have seen my trade on the "market trades", I pinpointed it with time of trade.

I actually got it at 1.65, I checked. Can I request for some form of certificate assuming I want to hold it mid to long term?
11.65 you mean.
No need to request for any certificate in my opinion, you will see it in your statement of account, account summary, buy/sell contract notes by end of trading period today.
Good you were able to see your trade in "market trade". It will appear in the docs listed up here too, which are more of proof of purchase.

When is FCMB releasing their dividends? If I buy into their stocks one day ahead of their release will I get such shares? Thanks
No dividend info yet. It will be posted here once it's out. They're paying 14kobo per share.
Why not start queuing for it at below 1.50 now, maybe some panic sellers will come to the market? This way you'll get it at a bargain price and at a better junction.
Waiting till a day to qualification date may make you buy it a bit higher, all things being equal.
To me, 1.50 is not bad for it but with the prevailing situation, no one can say for sure whether it has bottomed out at that price.

Remember this is just my opinion. Mr. Market decides market direction. smiley

ok, thanks. I was able to buy, well I assume I did. What is the meaning of limit, I left it at 11.70 even though on the market trades i see 11.65.

Another thing, I went to market trades section looking for my trade and couldn't see any matching trade(38k units). Anyway, on the order - Buy section my buy detail is highlighted in green.
Oh! You bought higher nah. Why not ask before clicking "submit" button? It was currently selling for 11.50.....but still okay anyway.
* "Limit" allows you to put the price you wish to buy or sell yourself while "Market" will automatically input the "previous closing price".
* You may not be able to identify you transaction(s) on the "Market Trade" cos it shows all market transactions as it's been carried out.
* When it shows green under the "Order" it means your trade has been executed already. Yellow shows its on queue. Light green shows its half-executed.

Confirm if you get it so we can know whether you even know how to get to the live trade itself.

They will drag the price down to 1.10 to match the 14kobo.
Why will they drag it to 1.10kobo? What offence have they commited?
If they didn't pay up to last year dividend it's a different thing.

FCMB with their Kobo Kobo dividend. What is this now?
Fidelity also paid kobo nah. FCMB even paid more than them in the last FYE.
14 kobo is still better than for it to drop. Maybe they used the opportunity of Covid19 not to increase it. smiley

Cautious trading ongoing in the market...

But where is Fcmb result? huh
This is what is keeping the stock low and some selling cos of uncertainty, but the result should be good going by their Q4 interim result.

Hello, I will like to know if GTB is still paying dividend as I haven't gotten mine since yesterday
You may have to contact the Registrar.
Did you follow your e-dividend processing thru?
Anyway, not to worry too much cos your dividend will always be there for you to claim, just try and contact the registrar to know what's up, then do follow up with them.

Sankore Securities is your broker .
All shares you buy must be in your name, except you subscribe to the mutual funds products.
Some brokers can help your mandate with the registrars, while others will others will charge you for it.
Not encouraging. Can't be compared to trading yourself. Morgan is still better than this one to me. What if they disappeared or become bankrupt like some said?
Good luck to you guys trading with them. grin

How long do you normally hold your stock...

Is there any strategy you use in trading stock that a newbie like myself should be aware of.
I'm a short termer, planning to go on medium term soon. smiley
As for me, I don't have any strategy, than to keep looking for opportunities for 10-20% as short termer.
Or trying to key in to a stock that I perceived its low with the hope to see it go up a little and sell; this however has its disadvantages cos my low could not be the actual low sometimes, thus getting trapped in such stock and, will then have no choice than to wait it out or move out at minimal loss to enter another one. Lol. grin
