davidzfarm18:

Thats the simple truth. know of 2 farms (Dargrib & 0jaba)in Nasarawa State that stock from Max Farm. The birds started laying @ 16 wks and by 27 wks. the eggs are Extra large already selling @ 680 from the farm. Artificial light was not introduced till abt 70% production. The birds are doing over 90% now.

Amazing! Why didn't you stock from there? Is it not feasible?
Agriculture / Re: Starting A Poultry Farm (a Blog) by mecuzee(m): 10:42pm On Sep 22, 2015
Absolutely better than Topfeed. KBC 10 (50kg bag=N12,350) is a feed concentrate you mix with Soya beans and maize! Check previous posts.

$3 X 20 jackets = $60 service charge even without discount.
Pls checkup the whole quotation. Thanks!

BizBloke:

Sorry, Mecuzee. I meant $3/jacket.

Thanks.
Technology Market / Re: Scuit: Shop & Ship From China, USA, Dubai & UK (Express, Cargo & Shipping) by mecuzee(m): 10:59am On Sep 22, 2015
Means you made a mistake in the service charge. Pls recheck!

BizBloke:

Well, the Freight Fee is determined by the weight which you're aware of, Mecuzee. This is 7kg for 20 jackets - as stipulated on the site. You can check for verity.

Service Charge is $2/jacket.

Thanks.

Product 2 (10pcs): $89.90

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FG: SURE-P Graduate Internship Scheme by mecuzee(m): 5:01pm On Sep 19, 2015
he Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme, SURE-P, received no budgetary provision for 2015, amid concerns whether President Muhammadu Buhari would retain the programme.
SURE-P was established by former President Goodluck Jonathan in the wake of the 2012 fuel price increase and nationwide strike, to reinvest savings from the reduction of subsidies on petroleum products.
The scheme has however come under increased scrutiny lately over allegations of corruption.
Its former chairman, Christopher Kolade, said last week that he resigned his position in 2013 because its operations were becoming tainted with corruption and politics, thereby losing its credibility.
In 2014, SURE-P received N180 billion as budget in addition to N88.3 billion unspent money from 2013.
This year, the government made no new funds available for the programme as a result of the fall in oil prices, the programme director, Ali Fatoma, told PREMIUM TIMES.
He said the funds currently expended for SURE-P programmes were from the N21 billion rolled over from last year’s unspent budget.
“The beauty of it is that unspent monies are rolled over to the next year,” he said.
He said as a result of lack of funds some interns of SURE-P’s Graduate Internship Scheme, gis, were not paid between January and April.
The gis had a budget of N10 billion in 2014, out of which N2 billion was rolled over to 2015.
“The information we received is that Project Implementation Unit, PIU, has gotten some funds to pay its backlog. And now they are battling with May June and July salaries,” Mr. Fatoma said.
The head of communication of Graduate Internship Scheme, gis, Haruna Suleiman, said interns were later paid from funds provided by the Ministry of Finance.
He added that the previous administration took the measures in preparation of a possible change in government.
“The gis was supposed to run up to December; to allow government decide whether to continue with the program.
“The 2016 budget will now be determined by the federal government, whatever they decide to do. That is if they decide to retain the program or scrap it. But we believe they will continue, because of the number of graduates that are involved in it,” he added.
Mr. Suleiman said programmes like the gis could only be rounded up in December, which was the reason the ministry allocated money for it to continue till the end of the year. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/190304-low-oil-prices-sure-p-excluded-from-2015-budget.html

U're on track. Since you target is December, I would suggest you start now or at most 7th week. Use finisher. Some people mix grower and finisher 50/50 though...

Hmmm. I kinda used nylon to cover the nets and blok any holes. So the air coming in is veeery minimal. I have also arranged for coal pots too.

I made the same mistake. It shouldn't be airtight! Allow as much air as possible while maintaining a temperature of 33°C for the first week! Minimal airflow promotes diseases like CRD which may compromise the immunity of the birds...

durosinmikunle:
Good job but my question is how do u prevent coccidiosis in the farm and what do I give my birds to make them grow faster

COCCIDIOSIS
- Minimize contact of feed and water with poultry litter as much as possible.
- Give preventive treatment using KEPCOX or EMBAZIN.
- Ensure the litter is dry and loosed always.
- Pen should be well aerated/ventilated.
- Change the sawdust when no longer dry and loosed.

FAST GROWTH RATE

- Buy quality day old chicks from reputable hatcheries like Zartech, Chi Farms and Obasanjo Farms.
- Use quality feed like Topfeed or KBC 10 (Koudijs Broiler Concentrate)
- Don't starve your birds. Feed as at when due. I would recommend 24 hours a day for the first 10 days and 2 times daily for subsequent days (morning and evening)

It's N12,300 per 50kg bag in benin. You should be able to get it cheaper in lagos. Mixing ratio is for 1 ton (1000kg)
KBC 10 - 125kg
Soya beans - 275kg
Maize - 600kg
I was able to get already mixed bags of 25kg at N2,900 per bag. I've used 150kg on the 200 birds as at today been 19 days!

What's the price of a bag?

Hi. I can only recommend what I've used which is KBC 10!
1st week - 12kg/100 birds
2nd week - 25kg/100 birds
3rd week - 38kg/100 birds
4th week - 50kg/100 birds

Gozychuks:
What's the ideal or recommended feeding plan. For attaining huge weight and size for 100 broilers and what feed would u recommend.

Depends on your feeding plan and target customers. You'll have about 12 weeks of feeding. You may be able to sell at 4k or more if you attain a huge weight and size!

You can try any brand of 'Diclazurri'. Very effective, you can use ratio 1 to 1( for two days) if the condition is severy. Follow the instruction on the drug if it has never affected their well being.

Thanks for your response bro. Its normal during the day but I observed these droppings in the morning. What drug do recommend cause I suspect they've probably developed resistance to KEPCOX

If the said red patches on their poo is look like blood, please give them 'Anticocci' as fast as possible.

Hope their poo is normal now?

Transparent cellophane that's a little thick. Package as airtight as possible. You should consider freezing if use is not immediate plus it'll also increase the weight a little if you are selling per kilo!
