I have stayed away from this topic for sometime now, but at this point I would like to chip in something... Once fascinatin thing is everyone is getting my whole comparuison wrongly thinking I do not know how to evaluate economical or social developments. Then again if we all sit down and go through what each person has said in the 5 pages of this topic, majority of praises for Naija and how much we love Naija and how truly Nigerian we are and how Nigeria is better than this and better than that have been said by people who are either in the UK, US, Australia and even Ethiopia. If you are truly Nigerian, and happy with the system and happy with our economy and happy with Calabar and Abuja, what are you doing outside, come home to Naija and enjoy/suffer it with us. |
Hi all, Do any of you gurus here have any information of any good bidding software? Im working on a website like Ebay where people will get to buy and sell items with bidding facilities included. All suggestions are highly welcomed. |
LoverBwoy:PLease quote which team in recent time has gone a whole season unbeaten? And out of curiosity when did Arsenal win the UEFA last? Its funny how everyone saying a lot of things now. Last year we were hearing if Chelsea are strong let them retaing title, now that they are we are hearing different stories ![]() Words of sore losers. YOu all say what you want, you are 24 good points behind us ![]() |
prettyH:Sorry prettyH! Those are the words of a sore loser ![]() |
Akolawole, I beg tell dem my brother I wonder whether na style dey win match? |
Oh please! Whether they play military football or police football or Arsenal play football from the moon, its the goal that counts and the points, not how you play. So if you are consoling yourself that Arsenal play better football, then please do so, 21 points behind us ![]() |
Hello all, I'm wondering, where are all the Arsenal fans who said Arsenal were better than Chelsea? Those who said no way Chelsea will retain the title and that Arsenal are better. Well just a point of fact, Arsenal are 24 points behind Chelsea and I can definitely guarantee you that Chelsea aint gonna lose 8 matches It seems "The Gunners" are out of bullets ![]() Up The Blues!!! Up Chelsea!!! ![]() |
No sweat debanjee. Thanks for your concern anyways ![]() |
tommiekidd:tommiekidd I never said the Ghana's currency was better than ours, kindly point out where that was said. SOmeone said I saw things cheaper there because when I convert the currency, I said not that rather I was working on converison of both currencies to the USD. Please do not make any false accusations. Nevetheless, I didnt mean to start any quarrel or fight I was only making a conversation based on my opinion, which I believe I have a right to. God bless Nigeria, God bless Ghana and God bless the whole world, AMEN ![]() |
Kokscity:You are one the very few here who is talking some sense here without pretence. omon:omon I have stayed in Lagos, in Warri, in Port harcourt, wherelese do you want me to stay to be able to have a different opinion on Naija. omon:Omon most foreigners that come to Naija come here to make easy money because Oil flows. Go to Murtala Mohammed Airport and see how many foreigners come here for tourism, close to 0. otokx:Honestly, I only saw 2 and that was on the way to Togo and they do not talk to passengers only the driver with utmost decency. So for you guys to sit down in the UK or the US and be able ti judge the difference is totally improper. Come here and experience the real life and then post, Im sure you will be speaking the total opposite of what you are saying. Listen to the news of Nigeria on a daily basis and you will know what is happening. For example, where else in the world does the government wait for 5 air crashes to happen within 2 months to take action. People wake UP!!! |
Please let me make it clear to all, even you omon, when I compare Nigeria to Ghana, I am not only talking of cleanliness or only facilities, afterall even the UK and US have dirty areas and slums. One main thing is the attitude towards people, afterall we can all see how some posts from educated persons living outside Naija and have been exposed to different types of cultures and traditions. Anyways, I didnt mean to start any quarrel between members of this forum, I still love Naija from the bottom of my heart and will continue to do what I can in my powers amongst others to help make it a better place to live in. |
naana:I tend to agree with naana, size has nothing whatsoever to do with any development. If you state ethnic differences, then one might say maybe you have a point, but yet i can counter agrue that point. Let's break NIgeria down into states where we can look at it in smaller views in terms of development and growth. I want to pick the state of Bayelsa, whish is made up of 90% if not more of 1 ethnic tribe (IJAW). Where the governor down to all the local governemtn are the same tribe. You would expect that Bayelsa with not much divisions within them in terms of religion, ethnicity will be like Accra, South AFrica or even England using their resources, but no, the Governor was caught in the UK with wealth running into millions of Pounds sterling. He was found to have assets in the UK worth £50m and all ths while the people of Bayelsa are living in Mud and tatch houses and live on less than $1 a day. So now you tell me when you are breaking your analysis down from the CIA fact file or wherever what stops Bayelsa and not Nigeria from becoming a small London since there are no divisions. As pointed out earlier in one of the posts, We are forever living in Denial in Nigeria and Africa and refuse to give praises where it is due. |
GUys, guys, guys, dont get my comparison wrong. I am Nigerian (as you can see I've been trying to emphasise to some dumb as*** earlier) and proud of it. I am even married to a Jet Black woman from the middle belt of Nigeria and we have a lovely daughter which we are proud of. I have known and lived Nigeria all my life even more than those who are arguing and have been born and lived in Europe or America or Prison all theirs. If I could do anything to change the present economy, political instability, corruption and many other bad things that affect our great nation, I would have. My comparisons between Nigeria and Ghana are based on things and facilities which I saw that can be put in place or corrected in Nigeria thanks to our great resources but then again are highly mismanaged over here. I stated clearly that it makes me sad when I compare Nigeria of the late 70s and early 80s to now. I wont accept someone who has based all of his or her life in the UK or US, living there, going to school there, working there and in that respect developing there stand up and tell me that I am not Nigerian. Someone who has not been in Nigeria through thick and thin, rather been in the UK and telling me that they speak Igbo or Hausa or Yoruba is more Nigerian than me, thats bulls***. If you are really Nigerian and proud of it, come back home and lets join hands to make this nation a great place, don't sit down in another man's land or in a maximum prison facility and claim to be more Nigerian than me. And for the record straight, if you want to place your argument that I am not an indeginious Nigerian, then I would agree, but to say that I am a Nigerian National, I am not Nigerian then I think some people need to clarify what the menaning of citizen or nationality is. |
I was just about to tell you guys (WesleyanA & debanjee) that there was no use talking all this while to someone who isnt worth wasting our time on ![]() |
Freewilly:Freewilly this is the second time you have used that term "white boy". You are sounding like a racist. Before we go any further, are you Nigerian? |
medube:And if you still feel Im not Nigerian then as a proud and eligible Nigerian, you should be able to challenge that paragraph in the Constitution ![]() |
nice Points WesleyanA panthress just for your record, my grandparents were both born in Calabar, my parents were both born Port Harcourt and I and my juniors were born in Lagos, now even if u accept to be British, Im more dam Nigerian than you are British. Secondly as stated in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria, Chapter 3 section 25 subsection (b) "every person born in Nigeria after the date of independence either of whose parents or any of whose grandparents is a citizen of Nigeria" Well I was born after Independence to parents who were already citizens of Nigeria So whther you or anyone else (freewilly) accepts it or not, I don't give 2 f*** |
WesleyanA:Thank you jare my sista ![]() |
panthress:If you have a British Passport you are indeed British, whether you speak Igbo, Hausa, Pidgin or even Ijaw. panthress, if I may ask, say I was given a form to fill and they have a space there for NATIONALITY, what should I put? And by the way from what you earlier said :panthress:You seem to forget that these were colonial rulers in those countries and eventually nationalised to be their citizens. That means you will accept a British man in 1958 to say he is Nigerian because he nationalised during their colonial rule ![]() WesleyanA:Indeed I am correct Nigeria to the core ![]() |
panthress:im sorry to say this but you're one of the people with a primitive mentality we are talking about that is putting Nigeria where it is today and what surprises me the most is you claim to live in the UK all your life and are talking like that. Well since you say Im not Nigerian because I am a citizen, then as for my origin, just take it that Im from the earth and thats it. |
No I'm not, but been there recently, but I noticed your location is set to UK. |
tommiekidd:tommiekid why don't you start encouraging them and all of us by coming back home from the UK ![]() |
Fair enough tommiekidd, I totally agree with you and everyone does about Nigerians joining hands to make things better. But let me tell you this will hardly happen, because one thing that is needed before this can be done is Unity and unfortunately we dont have that in Nigeria. The tribalism, religious differences and other factors between people of the same state, not even nation stops this unity from happening, therefore as said in Naija, "Everybody answer your papa name" and thats it. If we cant stand as one to make this difference, then you shouldnt expect it in a very long time. |
Hello all, Does anyone happen to have the song "SHAKE IT" by the NIgerian Artiste C'mion and will be willing to share. Heard it last night and fell in love with it. Thanks |
olex:Thank you olex I totally and quite agree with you. Presently in Nigeria there is so much discrimination amongst ethnic tribes so Im not all that surprised about the reaction when a white guy says he is Nigerian ![]() |
omon:Why do you say so Omon, afterall Ghana is a black country and the first of Black Africa to gain independence. omon:And I should expect that after I explain how comes about I am Nigerian, the person wont tell me "you still cannot be Nigerian because you're not Black" |
Akolawole:I didnt go on that road, but I can tell you the most part of the road from Accra to Lome in Togo is brill and made according to standard like Europe. |

not so medube?
