A friend of mine got robbed a few years back by armed robbers in PH. This could have been averted if his voice had overpowered the voices of the congregation of 3 different churches in the neighbourhood. Worshipping God nowadays in Nigeria appears to be like the people are quarrelling with God. Me I tire, sad

Hi all,

If you are in PH or Warri and need a reliable internet connection, come to us WebOnLan Nigeria Limited. For one we don't lie about what we give unlike others who use the maximum data transfer rate of the connection like 11mbps, 2mbps,etc to decieve people when they know they cannot afford to sell those kind of BW because of the high cost of getting in Nigeria.

For more details, please visit http://www.webonlan.com

Cheers, !!!

Like I said earlier, Even if the statue is sweating,or peeing; All I know is that it a statue and you have turned it into an idol just the way you turned images of angels and dead saints to idols all in the name of giving honour. What do you understand is an idol and what do you think the term worship means sef?

Sorry if my tone is harsh.
Ater seeing so much garbage from a lot of people, I would like to chip in at this point and try and point out something. I honestly dont know where this idea came up about worshipping idols. Just as good guy pointed out, nobody worships the statues or pictures, rather they are "man-made statues and pictures that are used to revere the presence of Jesus" Does it mean now that when some people look at pictures of their family members at home who have passed away, and talk to them, they are talking to the picture? How daft can some people be? Have you ever heard anyone pray "O our statue of the Lord, help us?"

We should all pray.

ComputersRe: Wimax In Abuja, Nigeria Using Alvarion Breezemax System by medube(m): 7:51pm On Aug 22, 2006
Hello All,

I would like to chip in a few points of mine regarding this topic. I manage and partly own a WISP that operates in the South-South region of the country. We run our network basically on ISM like 85% of Nigeria's ISP and most other parts of the world where ADSL is not available. The whole thing behind it in Nigeria is not whether it is WiMax or Wi-Fi or dial-up or cdma or etc, etc, its what comes behind it. Whats the use of having Wi-Max which doesnt require LOS or mast or whatever when the BW coming supplied behind it cant even opne you a single webpage? Fair enough, the NLOS advantage of Wi-Max and Navini and others is good but at the end of the day the client is not looking out for what the cost of equipment is or whether he will need a mast, but for the service and the cost of getting it. I am using ISM in one of the states I service and with POPs all around, clients just need a pole to get hooked up and trust me that is still how Hyperia and DOPC are deploying their so called 3.5Ghz radios around.

And for now one important thing to know in the world is the 2 words Wi-Max and Affordable dont go in the same sentence no matter which country you are in.

I agree with Afam, let Israel go to pre-1967 border and see if there will be any more of this. Whether you are aware of this or not or whether you have been informed of this or not, prior to the invasion and kidnapping of 2 Israelie soldeirs, Israel have been occupying some parts of Southern Lebanon, which they call farmland. Israel are holding for the last years, well over 10,000 Lebanese women and children that are termed as terrorists. The number one terrorist state is Israel with its occupation of Arab lands. Lets look at Gaza for example where Israel claims it has withdrawn and given to the Palestinians. They control the air and roads into Gaza, besides it being fenced round, they countrol who goes in and who comes out and yet they claim they have withdrawn from Gaza, what utter nonesense.

I like to read good discussions and I hate it when it turns into name calling.

On saying that, I have to point something out. Afam, please kindly don't say that 9/11 was meant to destroy WTC. Please, that is a big insult to the average American. If they were so interesting in destroying the buildings, I am sure, they'll have come on a Saturday or better yet on a public holiday. It saddens my heart to limit 3000 human beings to just "collateral damage".

Also, not everyone in America, sweeps or washes plate. Maybe those that came here, out of greediness. Just my two cents.

Thanks to all u contributors. Definitely learning a thing or two.
Lets not say that they had a hand in blowing it up but lets ask ourselves how 3 planes left US airports, changed course and hit targets, without their so fantastic superior power doing anything, kind of odd isnt it? Can i come to your house and steal without having an inside informant? Afterall, when a robbery happens in your house and the police get involved, your staff are always the first suspects am i wrong?
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by medube(m): 7:43pm On Aug 04, 2006
Hello friends cool

I went to bed, got up and went to work and now I' back here smiley Now during this period, Israel had hit 2 bridges in the Northern Part of Lebanon which is predominantly Christians and now I ask my brothers @davidylan, @debosky, @zebudaya, etc, knowing you have your facts, have you heard that hezbollah hides amongst the Christians as well?

Now these are a few points I will like to put through please feel free to argue unbiasely:

1. If te so called Land of the Free America are have been fighting to eradicate terrorism and so called rebels or freedom fighters, how come they have gone to rid Sri Lanka of the Tamil Tigers, Spain of the Basque Movement, Congo of their rebels, Terrorist groups in Algeria, etc? Why such the interest always for the Middle East?

2. Someone mentioned earlier in this thread stupidly that America was the reason the Blacks were free, I guess thats why places that were affected by the hurricanes got the rapid and effective responses Iraq got?

3. How come America was so eager to spend Billions of $$$ to help "the poor Iraqis who have been suffering" under Saddam yet spend chicken change if at all on helping children dying in Africa from either Aids or hunger?

4. How come when they want to carry out an action that favors them, the UN becomes the most powerful and final word in the World, but when not in favor, the UN can do no more effect than a small child shouting at his parent?

5. They are good in preaching Democracy and the words of freedom, yet because they need a country to operate from to invade Afghanistan, Gen. Musharraf is a close ally and is allowed to own Weapons of Mass Destruction alongside with India even if they threaten to use it on each other day by day. As long as the we have no oil there, go f**k yourselves for all we care,

6. Talk about using chemical wepaons, does any of you actually know what America was using the first Gulf War?

7. Iraq invades Kuwait, lets help them? Who are you? When 2 brothers who are neghbours on a street are fighting, who is a stranger to use force to remove one from the other?

Someone said here that Israel could actually nuke out Hezbollah. Whether you like it or not, the power of Israel comes from the US even up to this moment as we speak, they are supplying them weapons for the war. The only reason America cannot do shit with Iran is beacuse Russia is behind them. Did any of you read few months back when Israel tested a long range missile with US scientist, Russian scientists quickly went to Iran and iran tested theirs. So whether you are here arguing that its right or now, we are all puppets of the big nations and they move us as they wish, which I do not accept.
I will tell you as far as I am concerned the United State's foreign policy sucks. The EU could have been an organisation to contend with if not that George Bush has one of his puppies living in 10 Downing Street. Fortunately, the people of the UK have started rising up against being more or less an asslicker to the US. This world is like a Command Conquer played between friends over a network. Each person has a right to move and see who commands and conquers the most.

Let it be. Just as the great egyptians, romans, british, germans, all came and fell, so shall it be one day cool

@debosky you have answered nothing but nonsense. I am going to take you ON one by one, though u didnt answer number 7:

debosky:
1. All sovereign countries are allowed to have weapons and defend themselves and have weapons, Hisbollah is not a country, it has o bizness having weapons, leave the defence of Lebanon ot the Lebanese army, the army has weapons
If you say all sovereign states are allowed to have their own weapons, then let me start by asking you are Iran, North Korea, Iraq, Syria, amongst other Sovereign States or terrorist organisations? Afterall these nukes that we are talking about, which is the first and last country to use a nuke during war?

I have contributed to this theread earlier, but have been absent for the last 4 pages. In this post I will like to ask a few questions for people like @davidylan, @shango, @texazzpete and all those with the same sense of direction in argument and expect some decent non-bias answers:

1) Fair enough, Hezbollah is wrong by taking 2 soldiers or invading Israel, but basically at the end of the day they are required disarm. Now is it only, Israel, US, UK, China, Russia and few other nations in the world that are allowed to acquire weapons for national or regional protection?

2) Considering, the US invaded Iraq because of imaginary WMDs and links between Saddam and the WTC bombing, why haven't they invaded or instructed Israel to invade Syria and Iran whom they have confirmed are the sponsors and backers of Hezbollah?

3) If it is the armed wing of Hezbollah that Israel is after, why bombing of Beirut Airport, bridges, GSM towers, roads, infrastructure belonging to Lebanon who have done nothing at all?

4) Why kill over 19 members of the Lebanese Armed Forces who have not been involved at all (and that is by directly hitting the base of the Lebanese Armed Forces) even though another nation has invaded a soveriegn state under the auspices of cleaning out a terrorrist group that is claimed to be financed by 2 other nations, Lebanon not being one?

5) If it were the state of Israel that invaded Lebanon and took 2 Hezbollah soldiers and Hezbollah did what Israel is doing, would the world just sit down and watch as it is doing?

6) What is the actual strength of the United Nations at present when on several issues it was left to make irrelevant decisions because the United States was involved and over powered it? I heard someone earlier on this thread write that it is because the United States is the most supporter and financer of the UN, then why not change the name from the UN of many nations to the USN for it and all its allies?

7) Lat but not least. This Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein that were whatever, who made them?
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by medube(m): 2:45pm On Aug 02, 2006
@texazzpete

I wasnt referring to Nigeria only, but to most if not all British colonies. You name them Nigeria, Kashmir, Iraq (They escaped without achieving), Israel/Palestine, zimbabwe, etc, etc, etc,

@seun

If you say the Arabs cannot claim that land because there were people living there before, please state who are those? You alsp state that you regards hezbollah as a terrorist organisation because of their sofisticated weapons. Now, firstly if Hezbolla had anything sofisticated apart from Katyusha rockets, I don't think Israel would have been there battling, there probably wont have been half of Israel left and secondly if because of their sofistcated weapons, there are terrorists, then my good friend, it seems we have a lot fo terrorist states in this world aside America and co.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by medube(m): 12:37pm On Aug 02, 2006
Seun:
Isn't Hezbollah a terrorist organization that's also a problem to the Lebanese government? huh
hezbollah is not a terrorist organisation thats also a problem to the Lebanese Govt, it is a resistance group that is fighting to stop Israel from occupying Arab lands (Lebanon) which they are very good in doing. Israel, did not until 1948 have a state. It was known previously from the days of the Bible as the land of Palestine. All this we give thanks to the British who have caused nothing on this earth but havoc by mixing people and tribes of different religions, cultures, languages, etc, together, thereby causing unrest in every single country that they have colonised.
Foreign AffairsRe: Israel vs Hezbollah/Lebanon by medube(m): 12:32pm On Aug 02, 2006
@kaecy5, @davidylan, @mariory, etc, , since you are all claiming that Israel has the right to defend itself, can you justify, if hezbollah is the one fighting them and they are who they (Israel) want, why have they killed up to 19 Lebanese Forces soldiers to date? You tell me, has the Lebanese Forces under the command of Lebanon hit Israel or killed any Israel civilian or soldier?
