Why is everything I am reading here opposite to what I see living here... Maybe I am living in another akwa Ibom state.

I am a guy (not indigenous) and I don't relate with akwa Ibom guys except for business and I must say the few ones I have dealt with almost made me loose my mind. Op when you say guys, it swings both ways females also. It's more of a circle. The guy acts crazy to a lady, that lady thinks guys should all be crazy. She meets a sane guy and criticizes him for been sane and the sane guy goes crazy to blend in. With this kind of toxic circle, a community can brood a bunch of crazy people . Sense is difficult to find here but we still search. In fact, if you need sensible friendship I do too. Let's relate

I do too and I must say judging from where I live and how most indigenous ladies do not value the space, I must say the OP won't wish he lived in uyo. I will keep this short and straight forward. I want to travel out and I need directions.

A little back story. I figured this will help tailor the responses and answers I get to my questions.

I am in my early thirties, single and have bagged a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree. I was supposed to go for Nysc 2020 but jamb regularisation has been unfruitful. I am aware that I need the Nysc certificate for work or pharmacy setup in Nigeria so I am considering moving out for work or MSc in IT.

These are my questions.

2. Considering my age, what are the best visa options or advice that would work best for me.

3. Are there any skilled workers programs for pharmacists that could ease relocation?

4. How long does it takes for universities to send transcripts to universities abroad?

I used to read lots of books, listen to music to keep myself busy when I was sure of my life's trajectory now that I'm not so certain I use all that time to take certification courses that will help to improve my income cos I cannot survive being broke and lonely

You hit the nail spot on. One interesting thing I have noticed around is that poor guys rarely get lonely. I am still trying to unravel the mystery.

Sometimes you love the fact that you're alone and another moment you will get tired of the boredom.

I have been alone for a year now in a new city where I know nobody, I work remotely and I also enjoy learning more, infact I don't think I have enough time for myself considering the courses ahead of me, these are programming courses. I watch TV programs or go out when I'm bored though this does not totally take care of the boredom.

I also tried to join a church but they want to kill me with midweek programs, vigils and calls, men I no dey for all that.

So my advice for you is to start learning something you are interested in, make a time table, read up about something you're curious about and whenever you're bored...go out and chill at a restaurant, cinema or just stroll.

Don't welcome any tom dick just cause you're lonely, but be open enough to recognize a like minded person where you will never lack topics to discuss.

I guess we have some things in common. I have welcome a good number of Tom Danielle's and sheebas into my life just because it was lonely. It always doesn't turn out well. Finding like minds is like finding a diamond in the rough.

I somehow knew I wasn't the only one feeling like this. I get home quite early after work and I have a lot of time. I don't watch TV, play games or watch random YouTube videos.
I tried reaching out to friends, some of which stay in the same compound with me, but they claimed to be busy..(even during their week-long breaks...) I guess people have different goals and lifestyles, so I realised I shouldn't impose myself to people who don't want to socialise.
I started working out and I'm trying to get the body I always wanted, I learnt how to cook some foreign meals using local ingredients and I'll soon register to a foreign language school (Je veux parler française tres bien).
To those saying you should take yourself out, how do you guys cope sitting by yourselves in eateries, cinemas, beaches and other places?

Dude I am with you on your last question. I have just one male friend and we are in the same boat since he is also new to the city. We used to hangout with the hopes of meeting ladies but it always didn't turn out fine. People who have seen us regular sometimes ask if we were are gay.Smh
