I still wonder why they had to wait till now that the refinery and infrastructure has been financed by others. I know that as far back as 2004 when Orient Petroleum was desperately sourcing financing it met with so much difficulties..the Anambra state government had to step in even with its meagre resources ...now that the bread has been baked some people come out to claim a stake in the meal......it's just disgraceful.....that's what we suffer...we go to Lagos, Jos, Maiduguri, Bauchi....build it into thriving commercial hubs before you know it they start trying to scheme us out or even kill us off. |
I believe the only required qualification to be a truck driver is basic reading and writing. Dangote's advert is a typical example of how his expatriate senior management has no regard for Nigerian earned degrees....it's an insult to our Universities. Limiting the position to graduates does no good for our economy....it is under-employment. |
The military is the noblest service a man can offer to his country. You just have to repect a man/woman whose life says "no....the enemy will not get past me tonight, I will not let them harm my country today...." Don't join for the money, or the hope of becoming a governor tomorrow (that era destroyed the noble profession of soldiering). |

I am embarrassed at the obvious lack of insensitivity to the plight of easterners during the war. The war was fought in Biafra in the eastern heartland, we suffered genocide and starvation and i have here some historically uninformed people talking about bombings in Obalende and atrocities in Edo, who has been lying to you or has the tribalism clouded your sense of reasoning. Almost very child in my family died of starvation during that war, my grandmother as killed by your fathers' guns and bombs, WHY because we said we had had enough of the killing pogroms by Hausas & Fulanis, because we realized that the Yorubas will watch us killed (in Lagos) and not utter a word lest Gowon, Danjuma and his friends turn on them, please don't re-ignite our anger, because the scars still remain with us and are still visible, Do not let your stupid historians deceive you, Biafra was a collective decision (we all decided to leave) and Ojukwu was our leader and was a worthy one, more than any of the ones your Nigeria has imposed on us. |
