Sports / Re: Types Of People You Come Across In A Football Viewing Centre by Melkuk: 5:45pm On Oct 04, 2014
*** There's the guy who must sit on a particular seat always, even if the seat is taken, or there will be trouble.

*** There's the one who always wants to pay less because he's always late.

*** Those that usually come with sports or football newspapers just to show how committed and knowledgeable they are about football.

*** There are some who never utter a word from the start to finish of the of the game.

Politics / Re: Photos: Funny Things Nigerian Politicians Do To Remain In Power by Melkuk: 3:50pm On Aug 26, 2014
Bluetooth2: You can never satisfy an average black man. A supposed politician comes home to identify with the masses, you will complain he's looking for votes. If he doesn't come and operate from Abuja, then he's arrogant and will likely win by hiring thugs and stuff ballot boxes with fake voters' card. If he's indifferent, it means he doesn't care about his constituency.

What is funny in Oshiomhole and Obi going to see people whose homes were awash by flood ? It may sound funny but you need to go ask George Bush what happened in the wake of hurricane katrina and its aftermath.

Yes, lobbying exist everywhere when it comes to political campaigns !

...and who are you? While you are at it, let's know exactly what you mean by "average"; and to you, who is easily satisfied? Or you mean that people should not make comments about the opportunist parading as politicians? If the do comment, they become "average", right? What you should discourage is the constant, toothless raving and ranting about "politricking" which is now our norm, and instead advocate walking the talk against the brigandage of the old brigade.
The fact that people voice their displeasure and hunger for change- positive, quality change- does not make them "black" or "avetage".
Nuff said. Shalom.

Career / Re: A Brother URGENTLY Needs Advice On A Job Offer by Melkuk: 7:56pm On Jul 11, 2014
Ema2nty: Thanks guys for your contributions.@afrocandy, I was told that I would sign legal bond with the coy that will prevent me from leaving. According to the terms of the bond, I can only leave wen I have worked for a minimum of two years afta training. My problem is I don't know how robust their training is, as they're a very young firm with no strong presence yet so am not even sure of the career path there. Am very confused right now cos I really need to start doing something. Staying at home with no money in one's pocket is not funny at all

Bros, don't sign away your future. Yes, things may be rough and tough out there, try tough it out. Who knows what other clauses may be hiding in that document. Please don't be in a rush and do something rash. Why not take some time to read through some of the wonderful threads on NL and see if you can discover a niche.
On the other hand, tell them to give you a comprehensive information on what your training period consists of as well as a copy of the document you are meant to sign. When you get and study the two, then you will be in a much better position to reflect and decide. Wish you the best. Shalom.

Webmasters / Re: Logout(all) by Melkuk: 4:39pm On Jul 10, 2014
Seun: Clicking the [all] link will execute the [Logout All] action, which logs you out from all devices and browsers in which you're currently logged in.

Example: if you browsed Nairaland in a cafe or someone else's computer and forgot to logout, you could use this to logout from those computers.

Nice one oga Seun. Just nice. Do keep the innovations coming. Yes, whatever will make the NL experience more simple, safe, cool, beautiful, worthwhile, etc is appreciated. God bless NL!
Sports / Re: Cortana Predicts "Germany" To Beat Argentina In The World Cup Final by Melkuk: 3:31pm On Jul 10, 2014
The name- cortana- sounds almost like those brown bata shoes we used to wear to school back in the days... Cortina!

Meanwhile, Arjen Robben is unimpressed by Argentina and he sides with "Cortina". Hear him: "Argentina did not deserve to win...They did not have many chances and the best chances fell to us. The final? I think Germany have proved more and I have many friends there, so I hope they win the World Cup." (culled- goal.com)

1. Commentator: Fred has been substituted to the biggest boo ever.
2. Commentator: There're over a hundred station transmitting this match but not one viewer could have predicted this scoreline. @6-0
I call it the "miracle in football".
What a game that was!
What number of uncelebrated goals!
The Brazilian fans chose Fred as their scapegoat.
