pafek: location is jos. most commercial vehicles going to bauchi-jos-abuja are opel Vectra..., so if it were that problematic, I don't think it will be that many on that road It also means there's a localisation of technicians in the area. |

1metre: those harassment shouldn't force u buying an old car when u know your pocket is insufficient. Is it not wiser to endure those pressure and make a good budget for a reliable car. If you consider those insults from garage boys u will end up acquiring something that will keep u in a mechanic workshop every week. It's messy to buy an old car, can't even buy one for my enemy Lol... Well include a variable like predominance of kidnappers.... |

Camry pencilight one of the most dependable and reliable cars in Nigeria is what you branded evil. I doubt if you own bicycle spokes talkless of Suzuki motorcycle. |

luxy44: It is not a good car to me, the wheels are too fragile. God no go let me go back to the car sha. I drove it for 11months in 2007. So I am talking from experience not what I heard from Kazeem or people. Funny. I perfectly understand you. And agree with you. But after run-in's with some car models..bros I see that car as a saint! |

1metre: greed and quest to parade as a car owners. People are so materialistic that they live above their budget. Decades ago people were so content, not unlike now. Have you ever witnessed where garage boys harass people? If it happens to your female companion twice.. you will know that car ownership is a necessity |

I no get strength for debate I won't blink twice buying a pencilight Camry if clean at anytime.... For city driving I will prefer the four cylinder engine.. Traveling the V6. |

1metre: greed and quest to parade as a car owners. People are so materialistic that they live above their budget. Decades ago people were so content, not unlike now. Hmmm I will not say so. Let me tell you a personal experience. Someone just returned from a long trip and was used to trams, buses that adorned the streets of Germany where you get transportation every seven minutes... Whether full or empty .. this man tried boarding a car from Iwo road Ibadan to Lagos State.... I mean a car not bus...first and foremost a passenger started coughing unendingly... even before the car's passengers were complete.... Those dry coughs that sound like a cat meowing.... Or an hyena laughing.. then followed the siege by beggars... Rude talks by the motor boys and drivers...my guy calmly alighted went back home to take his faithful vboot and off to Lagos he went. Safe and sound. Cars are not a luxury in Nigeria brah.... It is a necessity!! |

luxy44: Lexus RX series - bad transmission, expensive parts.
Toyota Camry tinylite - bad wheels especially the shocks, short life span of the 4cyl engine.
Toyota Camry muscle: bad transmission, electrical issues, body (built) quality drops drastically after bodywork n repainting.
Honda crv: bad transmission same issues as the muscle with body work.
Honda accord- ball joint issues, transmission I'd take the tinylight anyday and anytime. Don't put more than two adults in the rear seats no matter the condition. And it's not the shocks that spoils at all times...there is a particular component I was reading about on this Australian car website... It is one of the most dependable vehicles the world has ever seen. Do you know that the brand new engine of that vehicle is still available in Nigeria? And always use Mobil Oil... contact Gazzuzz. Service twice a year!! |

1metre: my point is, if u buy those cars brand new, u won't hv any cause for panic. Not everyone can afford a brand new car but instead of buying a ten years old car better be patient and go for something better. This topic has taken into consideration the purchasing power of 75% of Nigerians cum their maintenance habits as well as the availability of technical expertise. Let me ask you a question... Some few decades ago Nigerians only purchase brand new vehicles.. what happened along the way? |

platinumricky: , this seems to be a W220 S - class, This one will bankrupt individuals and businesses. It is. I was even persuaded to negotiate. I bluntly refused. One Alfa on ego trips bought it.. I was calmly watching and observing his sorrows with the car...he sold as scrap.... After countless overheating... and a plethora of other mysterious issues... At present a Kazeem is trying to convert it to an M111 engine. I went there our of curiosity and almost laffed my head off... At the ridiculousity of the conversion. Anyway Kazeem must chop and there's nothing like warranty on his job. |

goodvision12: You didnt answer my question.Yes or no is chrysler a good car according to your post? Benz was the best in automobile industry before Chrysler came along. Do I need to spell it out...that even years after the separation Benz has NEVER recovered!! For me sir I'd rather play bet9ja with my money (and I don't bet) than purchase a Chrysler product with it. My advice flee Chrysler and never look back unless it's brand new. American cars seems to be deliberately designed so buyers can purchase more |

1metre: I totally disagree with u. Every car is ok. If u buy 10-15 years old car then u are liable to face challenges. Nigerians are fond of that, all in the quest to parade as a car owner. Buy neat car, any car, maintain it and enjoy it. What exactly are you disagreeing with? |

chronique: A thread for the ignorant, and those with poor maintenance habit/culture. Someone even added Land Rover and Mercedes Benz with air suspension to it... Funny thread. You abandoned your followers on cartalk for ages... and here you are talking about ignorance... 70% of Nigerians struggle to feed... While lack of a transportation system makes car ownership a necessity... Not luxury and not optional. How do they balance the dilemma..coupled with the arrogance of people like you.. and wickedness of kazeems.... Nay this thread is crucial to car ownership in Nigeria. |
