Ignore his elevation and buy the 4runner. Trust me you won't regret it.
You can get a 2008 model V6 for about 6m to 7m foreign used.
Please make sure it's a 4wd and not 2wd.
The 4wd has a knob for switching on the dashboard and it comes with differential locks.
This is so that you can confidently visit your sites without worrying about getting stuck on the way or on site. The highlander or Volvo XC90 or Audi Q will not do it. Those are for taking the kids to school and back.
Another good vehicle is the Prado but I doubt if you can get a clean one for 8m unless you get a model before 2009.
I have a Volvo XC90 awd and a 4runner V6 4wd so I'm speaking from experience.

Yes. I removed the ABS completely and installed servo and master. It is working well and it cost me around #50,000. Parts sellers were quoting #500,000 for new ABS assembly and #350,000 for tokumbo and there is no guarantee it will still not go bad again. A member of Club Lexus forum has a writeup on step by step to take for the conversion including pictture's . My mechanic equally told me he has converted about 5 Lexus cars with ABS.
My mechanic will soon disable the ABS sign on the dashboard.

This is mostly a summary of work don on the 2001 V8 sequoia

ABS, check engine, VSC and traction were lit up.

These were caused by the following.

ABS. Abs sensor front left. It was replaced.

Check engine. Misfire caused by faulty coil packs and dirty injectors, (pics below), coils were changed, injectors were replaced

Transmission temperature sensor. This sensor is located in the beginning of the pipe for transmission oil cooler. (pic below)

O2 sensor bank1 sensor1, O2 sensor Bank2sensor2.

Both sensors had open circuits in heater section, and we're replaced.

There was a new problem once the o2 sensors were working properly again, catalyst efficiency below threshold on bank2 came up, now the owner and I never envisaged such and issue and time and money was not on our side so I spaced the downstream O2 sensor, drove 60km and code dint come back.
