He wants to manipulate and lie about your words in order to deceive people that he is associated with a Christian denominations which is the best among all others grin grin grin grin

That's the same person that will tell you that you being a Christian means you choose a name that is cursed and BASTARDISED by Jehovah and your life is in peril and you need to think twice being called a Christian grin grin grin

Thank you. I see what's he's trying to do. because from what I have gathered I don't think he knows or believes in Jesus cause if he does, he would understand the context of my post

YES!
The first century disciples didn't tell people to accept Jesus it's only Jews who knew God's purpose but doesn't understand what Jesus is going to fulfill in God's purpose as the Christ that Peter explained they have to accept Jesus based on the fact that he has fulfilled what the scriptures foretold right there in their midst about the Christ but walking up to someone who doesn't even know anything about God's purpose for the earth then telling him to accept Jesus is baseless!

My context there is Accepting Jesus as your lord and savoir. My dear going up to people and telling them to accept Jesus is valid, cause Jesus is the only way. u should read john 1 the (Goodnews trnaslation) u will understand

Religion / I've Accepted Jesus, So What's Next. by mercygrey177(f): 10:13am On Apr 18
Ever pondered, “I’ve accepted Jesus, what’s next?” Do you wrestle with the pressure of getting everything right in your spiritual journey?

If so, you’re not alone. I’ve struggled with this too, hence why I’m writing this. I believe we all know what to do, but struggle to maintain consistency with it. If you find yourself stumbling in the race set before you by God, or if you’re uncertain about the next steps, then this is for you.

We often feel the weight of needing to navigate the Christian race flawlessly because our decision to follow Christ initiates a race with challenges and temptations. Thus, it’s crucial to understand what comes after accepting Jesus as our lord and savior and learn how to walk in the newfound freedom and closeness with Christ.

Recently, I stumbled upon a compelling conversion story on social media, and I was struck by the positive responses it gathered. However, while salvation narratives are important for inspiring others, the ultimate focus should be on genuine salvation. Many of us, myself included struggle in our spiritual growth, leading to a stagnation where even after being saved, we remain spiritual infants instead of striving to grow. Eph 4:14

We are familiar with the requirement to confess with our mouths that Jesus is lord, see Romans 10:9-10. But what follows after this confession? How do we achieve True Salvation?

Daily Bible Study:
God’s word illuminates our path, helping us discern between good and evil depending on how much of it we immerse ourselves in.

While daily bible study sounds so straightforward and simple, committing to it can be challenging. Now that we have recognized that we sometimes don’t commit to this because of social distraction, we can also fix it by setting up bible study goals. Simple goals that can grow with time. These goals can be 2 verses daily, reading in-depth these verses. Daily Bible study is as important as your daily requirement of food and water for your survival. The world is a cradle of falsehood, lies, deceit, and misconceptions. Yet in the midst of the falsehood, the truth is made available in the Bible. Feed the word of God to your soul.

Obedience to the word of God.
Your obedience to the word of God is the only evidence that identifies you with Christ Jesus that you are a proud follower of his. Obedience also verifies faith. Genuine faith leads to obedient actions.

Build a prayer life

Prayer is simply talking to your father in Heaven. He loves you and saved you and now he is eager to listen to your prayers. Therefore talk to God without hesitation. Philippians 4 vs 6 "Do not be anxious about anything..." gives us a clear understanding why prayer is important. The verse urges us to not fret over uncertain outcomes. To be anxious means to worried, nervous and unease. Through prayer, we embrace daily life of peace, hope, contentment, confidence, nurturing faith and trust in God. Prayer makes us, it's who you are.

Join a believing church
Vigilance is an evitable value in lookin for a church. selecting a fellowship center can be challenging due to the presence of deceptive ministries disguised as genuine ones. The bible revealed in Matthew 24 vs 24 "for false Messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive..." Be vigilant! Seek and join a Bible-and-Holy-Spirit believing church. Incase you are lost as to which one to choose, pray asking God for help and guidance

Share the Good news...
Share the Good news of Christ to others. Don't be selfish, you can't enjoy this life of peace alone , invite others to come to the light too and enjoy the benefit of his grace.

Finally, the growing never stops, there's no end to knowing God, just as there's no end to acquiring knowledge. There's a depth of knowing God that goes far beyond just getting saved, we need to go deeper, the more we go deeper, the more he reveals himself to us. That way the hunger for God is sustained.

Importance of praying with scriptures

Why do we pray?
We pray cause we know there’s a God to answer. You go down on your knees, pour out your heart to your maker, you are certain that God is with you and listening to heart cry.
As Christian, prayer is a necessity in our lives, Jesus started with prayer and ended with prayer. Most people often ask “why do we have to pray when it’s said that God knows our thoughts and the intents of our hearts”. However, it’s important to speak as God also spoke the word into existence by the utterance of his mouth. God knows what we want before we even ask but he wants us to say it.

How to move God with your prayers;

Praying with scriptures
Psalm 138 says, “ God honors his words above his name” in other words God cannot fail to do anything he says. Scripture has given many promises of God and his proclaimation over our lives, it’s only right for us to make it an habit of reminding God those promises from scripture in prayer.
There are popular verses which a lot of people know by the words, but if told to say it by scripture most people wouldn’t know it. Just like asking someone the shortest verse in the Bible. The shortest verse is “Jesus wept” a lot of us know this but not all know the verse it’s written.
“Heaven and Earth may pass away, but my words will by no means pass away” Matt 25vs35, is one those popular verses that everyone knows about.
Through this statement made by Jesus, we know that his words are the most important thing, also it’s a good reminder of eternity of God’s word. The word of God last longer than anything you see in the world, the word lasts longer than the world around you. God is true to his word as much as he is true to us. So when we pray with God’s word in relation to is promises we are certain that in God’s time and in God’s way every word will be fulfilled perfectly.

Importance of praying with scripture
The word of God becomes a treasure
When you read scripture, understand it , meditate on it and carry them all through the day they become a treasure to you and you can apply that scripture into any situation. There are scriptures which match your current situations, people do that a lot with psalms.
One important thing to note when you pray with scriptures is to be specific with those scriptures. If you are going to say “lord you said you will give your angels charge over me…” try and include the verse of the scripture ( psalms 91:11) I know we sometimes find it difficult to recall the exact verse of a popular scripture. Like I stated earlier people recall those popular scriptures by the words only. To me when i pray scriptures and their exacts verses there’s this inner joy that comes with it . It’s fulfilling to me , you know that feeling when you get straight A’s in school yeah! that’s it. This doesn’t mean I’m better than others or God is going to answer my prayers first before others, it just gives me joy to be able to use those scriptures I meditate on in prayer. It illuminates my thought of God and if ignites my affection for God.

It’s help you pray confidently:
Praying with scriptures gives you a whole new confidence, you are telling God what he said concerning your predicament. praying with scriptures is safe , secure and firm you don’t need to be wandering around your prayers, God’s word expresses his will concerning our lives, so when we pray with scripture there’s this confidence that comes with it.

It’s helps you with prayer points
Have you ever started praying and then run out of what to pray about, maybe cause you are trying not to ask the right thing the wrong way, or you feel guilt asking to be a billionaire. Then you need not worry, when you read God’s word, understand, meditate and pray with it, the confusion ends. You have direction on what to pray about and prayer points to hold unto.

Its entirely truthful
The book of the word is like no other books, it has no errors. You can’t go wrong with praying with scriptures.

It makes you understand scripture better
When you pray, you must think carefully about what you say, you need to have an idea of what the scripture means in it’s context. The process of praying with scriptures makes you to dig deep into that scripture through biblical research. When you pray a verse from Bible for you self. It becomes more personal.
In conclusion, you may be thinking. “How can I pray scripture?” It’s pretty simple as you read and study the Bible, there might be a story that resonate with you or the situation you are in. You can personalize that story and pray prophetic scriptures into your own life.

Religion / Consequences Of Fear ( Story Time) by mercygrey177(f): 11:56am On Oct 07, 2023
Damaging consequences of fear

Story time!!!
It was a long day, I had just moved into my hostel in college, College life is one of the most exciting part of anyone’s youth. This is more so in a Nigerian federal university, the hustle and bustle of her dear students striving to excel and make their parents proud.

**
I got settled in, brought out my notebook, and wrote down a bucket list of things I would dare myself to do in school.
“I’m going to be out there,” I said to myself.
Was going to join a good christain fellowship and actively participate in every program, join the creative and drama club, make new friends, and engage in social activities in school and a host of others.

Being an introverted person I had planned to be myself but also come out of my shell. Change was paramount for me, my friends from high school knew me as a quiet, shy and timid girl. I was coming into a new setting, meeting new people. What better way to create new impressions, spread my wings, and have a little leeway other than the four walls of college.

As much as I wanted to have an outgoing and energetic disposition, within me I still struggled with what had constricted me, which was “Fear”. I had numerous fears and social anxiety. Fear of failure , fear of public speaking, fear of the unknown, that anytime I got a negative response on anything I try to do, I stop and never try again. I had just turned 18, now in college, I made it a prerogative to revivify a new personality within me and conquer my fears.

***
New semester, New experiences. We were assailed with notes, projects and tests. I was doing pretty good in the social aspect, I even surprised myself. Engaged in class discussions, participated in group work. It was more of a comfort zone for me and that wasn’t the goal. I wasn’t satisfied with how far I had come after one semester , however, it was a good start for me.

Mid-semester I made new friends outside my course mates . Got close to one , Felix, he was a tall, lanky, dark skin guy. We both attended the same school fellowship. He was the student drama coordinator and also a theater Arts student majoring in film and movie production. We clicked immediately as friends, been around him and his friends, they were ardently committed and passionate in their work. They showed no sign of fear or chickenheartedness, they implemented every idea they conceived and it earned them awards and recognitions from school management and external bodies. They scouted for young talents and featured them in school productions. I was so inspired by them and being around them was an opportunity to tick some items off my bucket list. Met him one day and told him about my interest in acting and dancing. I said ,
“Haven’t mentioned this before. I have a passion for acting and dancing. Acted in a school play in secondary school(high school)”
He lifted his head, his eyes gleamed
“You never told me. Then you are just what we are looking for” he gestured with a smile
“We have an audition coming up for our final project . You should come”
My heart pounced, and anxiety swirled around me.
I had never auditioned for anything before. I failed to let him know that the school play role was a minor role . My fear of public speaking sets in and it brought me back to when I froze on stage at a class debate in high school. It was a daunting experience, I had prepared, strengthened my defense only for what I prepared for to fly out the moment I stepped on the podium. I began to mumble my words and was giving baseless arguments because of fear. My classmates blamed me for our loss. Dreaded anything public and only worked behind the scenes since then.

***
A lot of justifiable and excusable fears taunted my mind, that I doubted my abilities. The maybe’s and what if’s resounded in my head. Came around students who were anticipating for the the audition. They were pretty good at what they did,
“I won’t stand a chance with these people’” I thought to my self
Ended up not attending the Audition, I felt unqualified compared to the rest, the project was very important to them and didn’t want to make a fool of myself.

***
I did nothing of what I had planned to achieve in college, I was driven by fear a lot and didn’t even give my self the chance to try or even try to fail. Missed out on a-lot of opportunities that could have be beneficial in the future. As they say college is where you build the most important network.

After college, I made up my mind to change my life for good, be confident, wear my head high, I am beautiful and intelligent I wasn’t going to let fear take the best part of my life. This time I took it to God as I should have done all this while. As I read through the Bible praying to God to instill in me a confident spirit. the Holy Spirit led me to a verse I had casually read or said before but was revealed to me in a better light. 2nd Tim 1vs7

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”

I remember searching the commentary under this verse and it explained that Timothy had a shy personality and felt uneasy about his responsibility. Paul didn’t want fear to stifle Timothy’s ministry hence he wrote the letter of encouragement. With this revelation, I wrote about the damaging effect fear has cost me and decided to rewrite my story. With the scripture “God has not given me…” I realized fear is what I have given myself, fear is a spirit that has lied to me all these years, telling me, I’m not good enough, I will make a fool of myself, and I can’t speak in public. I said to myself that day that I was going to go with what God has given me. Which is boldness.

It’s impossible to please God when we are afraid. God only uses those who are driven by faith. As we journey through life we are faced with various fears. If you are dealing with fear and low self-esteem in your life right now these are some damaging consequences.

You miss out on a lot.

If you do not conquer fear, you miss out on the most important aspects of your life.

Ecc 11 vs 4 says,

“He who observes the wind will not sow. And he who regards the cloud will not reap”

Those driven by fear never start, continue or finish anything significant in life, they are paralyzed at the point of starting anytime they start and fail. They never overcome the inertia to start, they never try again after a bad past. One thing I wish someone told me was that failure is an indicator that you are making progress. Failure is an invitation to start over again but intelligently giving attention to the details.

Another damaging consequences of fear is that it,

Brings you face to face with people doing something you were afraid to do and by that time you will be starting late

Like I stated earlier I missed out on a lot in college cause of fear of being made fun of, making a mistake, and failing. it was damaging to me when I saw people like me doing what I always wanted to do. Felix invited me for the screening of his movie series I failed to audition for and I saw great talents on display at the end of the screening, Felix revealed that the people who auditioned had little or no experience and some had never acted before.

I left that event with lots of regrets. Fear makes you hide your potential, it makes you hide what you should expose.

The day I decide to conquer the fear that day I began to do exploits.

People driven by faith hear God, fear nothing, and overcome doubt. The ship may be shaken but they hold on, they stay through and they breakthrough.
Do you have problem solving ideas, don’t sit on them. The world is waiting for you, write that book, Dare to do more!

Don’t let fear drive you, let faith drive you.

Setting your goal is good. But a lot of people have tried and hit rock bottom, they couldn’t follow through with the goals cause of lack of commitment and dedication.
Note that everyone can’t act the same or be the same. A lot of people write their goals and achieve even more, most people struggle with these 4 impediments which are laziness, lack of discipline, procrastination and fear of failure which leads to massive failure and then you latter find your self giving up.

But the thing is, you know your self and can only follow through with the knowledge of yourself. If you are the type that is slow to or not achieving the things on your to-do-list then you have no business with setting a general 2023 Goal . Instead I would advice you set each goals for each month of the year 2023
You can set 2 goals eg
If it pertains to health , weight self development
You can say
1 I will eat Fruits 3 times a week for the month of January
2 I will take honey in place of sugar this month
With just this 2 goals for this month.

Self development
1. I will I’ll read 2 books(200 pages below) this month
2. I will take a class on ( whatever you need to improve on yourself this month)
Note: I would advice a you don’t take a free class. Cause when you pay 3k for an online class u would definitely finish as opposed to a free cLass u could care less.

When you write 2 goals only for this month, FOLLOW THROUGH, with emphasis on following through and successfully achieve them, there’s this sense of fulfillment that you will feel and then, In subsequent months you will not be limited to just 2 goals u will see yourself in total aberration from the usual .

Religion / Music Ministers And Their Impact by mercygrey177(f): 1:35pm On May 17, 2022
Music ministers in Nigeria whose impact has been a blessing to humanity and our Generation
Gospel music in Nigeria has evolved over the years. God has raised gallant men and women of our time to not only spread the gospel through music but also leave a positive impact on the younger generation. These ministers are dedicated and role models to our generation. Their songs are spirit-filled, you would know they are backed up by the Holy Spirit. This is the list of gospel ministers whose calling has impacted our generation.

Nathaniel Bassey:

Pastor Nathaniel as he is fondly called is one who God uses to be a blessing to us all. His songs are led by the Holy Spirit. They don’t just minister for our pleasure only but the songs take us to another realm in the spirit for most people they encounter God in another dimension. Pastor Nathaniel through his songs and ministrations have led thousands to God, many have seen God the way they haven’t, there are testimonies of healings, breakthroughs, turnarounds, and encounter from listening to his songs. And not to talk of more that comes during the yearly Hallelujah challenge. Listening to Nathaniel Bassey’s songs you can get his calling in the music ministry. His songs exude the awesomeness of God, pass the message of hope, knowing how great and awesome God is, you know that he can do the impossible. Alagbada Ina which means ‘the one clothed with fire he is the indomitable warrior that can never be defeated. Knowing this alone gives that confidence that we are secured forever. Olorun Agbaye means ‘God of the universe is mighty! When you listen to lyrics like this, it doesn’t matter the predicaments, the light of hope shines on you. And a whole lot of other songs that like lifting to the spirit

Mercy chinwo:

With her melodious voice she creates an angelic atmosphere, she is such a blessing to both the old and younger generation, She is everything in one. The lyrics of her songs are the pictorial expression of the thoughts of God on the canvass of human minds. Mercy chinwo’s songs glorify God in all ramifications of life. Coupled with her angelic voice you are left to smile throughout reminiscing on God’s faithfulness. The likes of Obinasom, Excess love, Omekanaya, and a host of others.

Dunsin Oyekan:

You can’t listen to Dunsin and not be blessed. When Dunsin ministers he takes you to another realm. Speaking from experience for those who haven’t withness heaven when Dunsin ministers you go there and come back and sure you can’t go there without bringing back some goodies (smile). Yes! You come back blessed, reformed, and not the same. According to the Minister, he spends a lot of time with God. He calls it the Upper room, where he communes with God, and through that, he writes most of his songs as directed by the Holy Spirit. You can feel the impact on Open up, Ascend, More than a song, and all his songs.

Chioma Jesus
The Angelic voice from the east whose songs cut across Nigeria and the world at large. Regardless of what part of the country you are from, her songs which are in her local dialect (Igbo) resonate with you. Let alone knowing the meaning of the songs.
Chioma Jesus’s songs are very powerful, and her ministrations are energetic. Leaving both old and young moving their bodies and feet to the melodious sounds.

GUC
GUC is one young gospel artist who God brought to this generation. His hit song “: All That Matters” leaves you wanting God more and seeking him always, just what this generation needs. in the song, it says “what would I live for if I don’t have you in my life”. We are nothing without. Don’t let the world deceive you.
Other ministers have impacted positively our generation we have the likes of, Sinach, Moses bliss, Tim Godfrey, Eben, Victoria Orenze, and a host of others.

Education / Grow Your Reading Habit With These Under(100)pages Books by mercygrey177(f): 1:47pm On Apr 23, 2022
Are you a lazy reader? You start a bulky self-
development or finance book and you tell youself “I will finish this and read another one in 1 week’ and after one week you are still in chapter 3 of the first book. Do you feel tired to finish bulky books, well there are different ways to develop the art of reading. I spoke about one in my earlier post on this thread (Here are three books that changed my life) so here’s another that helped me grow my reading habit.

I started reading books less that 100pages and then moved to less than 200 pages. Starting off with this will not only make you feel fulfilled, I mean you can boast of reading 5 books in 1 week to your friends all books less than 100pages (lol) it will always grow the habit, cause you have started it .

There’s this short story by chimamanda that I read “Zikora” the story is just 33 pages after reading it I kind of like wanted more from the story, I was like “is this it” if the book was up to 500pages I know I wouldn’t be bored. It can be any book but for those who want to develop themselves. Here are 5 Self -development books that are below 200 and 100 pages.

• The art of creative thinking (133 pages)
• So good they can’t ignore you (178 pages)
• Make your bed (144 pages)
• Who moved my chesse (94 pages)
• The one minute manager ( 112)
You can search for more and go for it, make your 2022 great. Visit z library for amazing books

I'm a lazy reader, we all, when I mean we all I mean my *fellow lazy readers* . sometimes we just want the summary and not the details, and when we finally decide to read a book, a novel, inspirational and so on we take weeks going on months to finish.
Over time I decided on my own to develop the art of reading I would take a book that interests me and give myself a deadline to finish. when I started it wasn't successful cause I had other things clustered about that took my time. sometimes I would start and when my favorite show is on I would leave the book and forget about it for days even though I was enjoying it. I discovered a book that taught me how to get things done. it was 3 books the introduction was so igniting and inviting. I felt I could just read them at once. when I saw various referrals on these books I knew I had to read them. But my problem was 'will I finish them' and I did eventually through the help of the first book 'Deep work' these books were;

DEEP WORK
I decided to start with deep work, and I'm glad I did cause it helped me develop the art of reading, not just reading it helped to know how to share my focus, concentrate, and get maximum achievement in any activity. According to Cal Newport, deep work is the ability to focus without distraction on a cognitively demanding task. He explained that deep work will make you better at what you do and provide a sense of true fulfillment. I realized my issue with getting anything done completely without any break or leaving it unfinished was a lack of focus. this book will help you escape the state of bewilderment and help you adopt a state where 'concentration is so intense that there is no attention left to think about anything. I have always had a flair for writing, novel, short story but always moving from one story to another. This book taught how to curb distractions in other to get maximum results.

EAT THAT FROG
Having laid the foundation through deep work. Eat the frog only took me 3days to finish which was very on like me. Asides from that the book taught me a lot. Brian Tracy demonstrates how important it is to set clear priorities and handle the task with the highest priority, in addition, she noted that the task that can be postponed are tasks with low priorities. with this book I was able to set my daily to-do-list making sure I write at least 3 pages a day on my novel. if you are struggling with your to-do list make sure to read this.

ATOMIC HABITS
if you go to a self-development bookshelf you will find this book. After reading to the end, this book is a good start for anyone who wants to start improving in themselves. one way to make significant changes is to develop good, valuable habits. Atomic habits tell us how to build habits starting from the tiniest. I was glad to know that the content in the book is practical and can really be practiced not just teachings.

If you would love to read any of these books. download on Z-library.com.

I'm a lazy reader, we all, when I mean we all I mean my *fellow lazy readers* . sometimes we just want the summary and not the details, and when we finally decide to read a book, a novel, inspirational and so on we take weeks going on months to finish.
Over time I decided on my own to develop the art of reading I would take a book that interests me and give myself a deadline to finish. when I started it wasn't successful cause I had other things clustered about that took my time. sometimes I would start and when my favorite show is on I would leave the book and forget about it for days even though I was enjoying it. I discovered a book that taught me how to get things done. it was 3 books the introduction was so igniting and inviting. I felt I could just read them at once. when I saw various referrals on these books I knew I had to read them. But my problem was 'will I finish them' and I did eventually through the help of the first book 'Deep work' these books were;

DEEP WORK
I decided to start with deep work, and I'm glad I did cause it helped me develop the art of reading, not just reading it helped to know how to share my focus, concentrate, and get maximum achievement in any activity.
