MikeofKd: Men how would you feel if your wife got more richer than you or more successful than you in terms of wealth or affluence ? There's a saying which I think Is false btw that most Nigerian men cannot handle a successful woman. Personally I can very much handle a wife that's more successful than me idc tbh , as long as there's no disrespect from her ends. But if she became disrespectful at some point , I would end things if the disrespect persists.
They are certain women that would rub it on their husband's faces any little chance they get to remind him that they are more successful than him which isn't a cool thing tbh and This happens a lot.
Certain men don't even want their wife's to work simply because of issues like this. Which I sometimes think it's selfish of men to act these way but I very much understand them nevertheless.
I don't want to generalize but I think when a woman becomes more successful than her husband there's always going to be tiny or even large trunk of disrespect.
So to the men in the house how would you handle it if your wife became more richer or successful than you and she started pulling some very disrespectful cards ?? Would you end things or just continue to move with the rhythm. You’ve stated everything up there already. Bigger woman comes with disrespect that most sane men cannot tolerate. If my wife earns bigger than I do, i’ll man up and fulfill my responsibilities. That alone will remind her to not misbehave. If she eventually misbehaves, it is my cup of tea as my faith didn’t teach me to divorce, more reason why I can’t just go for anyhow girl, and the only woman who ever disrespected me my whole life was the one that I have lesser things to do with, the one that’s not even up to me in standard. Disrespect is not only attached to high class women, it is just a character of a foolish woman. A wise woman builds her home, while a foolish one pulls it down. |

Marvieduke: 😭😭😭Hero Imam Who Hid 262 Christians During Plateau Attack dies at 90
Abubakar Abdullahi, the Imam of Nghar village in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State who famously protected hundreds of Christians during v+olent communal clashes, has died.
His son, Saleh Abubakar, confirmed the death to Daily Trust on Friday, saying the cleric passed away on Thursday night at the Plateau Specialist Hospital in Jos.
According to him, the imam died ten days after being admitted to the hospital following complications from a heart condition. “He was initially diagnosed with a heart problem. He would go for check-ups and return home, but his health had not been stable since the diagnosis,” he said.
Imam Abdullahi died at the age of 90. He is survived by 19 children—12 boys and seven girls.
The late cleric gained international recognition in June 2018 during deadly, faith-based communal violence that swept through at least 10 villages in Barkin Ladi. At the height of the attacks, he hid 262 Christians in a mosque and in his private residence, shielding them from harm until calm was restored.
His courageous actions earned him several honours, including the International Religious Freedom Award presented by the United States Department of State in 2019.
He was laid to rest today Friday16 January 2026 after the Juma’at prayer in his hometown of Nghar village. one of the sane individuals just left this sinful world, RIP to him |

Condolences to the family of the Yan biu. This is what happens when majority of our professionals are all scattered abroad seeking greener pastures and we are left with novice. I’m not concluding on the cause of the death, I’m just stating my obvious concern of how most firms have degenerated and it’s actually a sad and unfortunate situation. I’ve already gotten to the juncture where I hardly receive any treatment whatsoever if it’s not from my family doctor or a trusted person. What people think: they have solution to my ailment at the hospital In reality: nurses make mistakes that could be costly. We all should be careful where we get our treatments from. Stevengold: A Libyan mobile phone dealer placed an order for Nokia phones in 2010 but only received the shipment recently, despite the sender being just a few kilometers away. A video shared on X by Renard Jean-Michel on Jan. 8 shows the Libyan phone shop owner unboxing dozens of Nokia phones wrapped in red plastic bags.
The shipment included a variety of classic analog phones, such as the Nokia 5300 and the iconic Nokia N95, which was first released around 2007.
The order, placed in 2010 for a small phone shop in Tripoli, was delayed by the onset of the Libyan Revolt in early 2011. This was followed by years of civil war, a cease-fire in 2020, and ongoing regional divisions, according to Android Police citing local reports. Due to the conflict, the shipment was forgotten in a warehouse until it finally reached its destination earlier this month. Ironically, both the sender and recipient were located in the same city, just a few miles apart.
Upon seeing his long-lost order, the shop owner burst out laughing and joked, "Are these phones or historical artifacts?" as reported by NDTV.
The video has since gone viral, with many users noting on how prolonged conflict disrupts business and expressing surprise that the package remained intact after so long.
"Looking at the current geopolitical scenarios, these phones are absolutely valuable. They have no tracker," one user on X wrote.
Others speculated that the now-vintage phones could be valuable as collectors’ items, with several users offering to buy the phones.
Source: https://e.vnexpress.net/news/tech/tech-news/man-receives-nokia-phones-ordered-16-years-ago-5005995.html could be a blessing in disguise. I’ll just auction my thing jeje and I know that people will buy, Nokia’s ruggedness is top notch and most of us still want to have one of those old versions as a backup phone. So if he ordered it for #2, he can now sell one for #20. It’s still a win win for him. |

Stingless bees are usually smaller (many tiny like flies).

Stingless bees may crawl on you or bite but won’t sting. thank you. I got what I needed to see ‘stingless bees are usually smaller (many tiny like flies)’. I wouldn’t wait for bee to land on me first to confirm if it is a stingless one 😂. Thanks for the update, your thread is educative and I love it. |

Cybersafeparent: She reached out quietly. Not in panic. Not with accusations. Just concern.
She said her daughter was 14 and had changed gradually. Not overnight. Not dramatically. Just… slowly. More withdrawn. Easily irritated.
Uncomfortable whenever certain topics came up. Her phone never left her hand. At first, she assumed it was normal teenage behaviour.
But then the girl started questioning things she had never questioned before relationships, boundaries, what was normal, what was acceptable.
The mother felt something wasn’t right. So she contacted us She didn’t say her daughter was doing anything wrong. She said something very simple: I feel like someone is influencing her, and I don’t know who.
We advised her to observe quietly and use a few basic tools , to checkmate, not to punish, just to understand what her daughter was being exposed to online. What she found scared her.
Not because of explicit content. But because of grooming disguised as friendship.
It was gradual. Friendly and Carefully worded. Repeated often enough to feel normal. That was the most frightening part. Her daughter didn’t see it as manipulation.
She saw it as “people who understand me.” When the mother confronted her gently, the girl broke down and said:
They said it’s okay. They said I shouldn’t tell you because you won’t understand.
That sentence hurt more than anything else, that's what the mom said.
Parents, this is not about labels.
It’s not about fear-mongering.
It’s about how easily young minds can be influenced online without guidance.
Children don’t wake up one day changed. They are guided there, message by message, conversation by conversation.
Many of us are monitoring grades. Many of us are monitoring friends. But very few of us know who is shaping our children’s thinking in private chats.
I want to ask parents here honestly,
Have you noticed changes in your child that didn’t come from school or home?
Do you talk to your children about online boundaries, or do you assume they’ll figure it out?
Please share your experiences. Not to argue. Not to judge. But to help other parents recognise signs before they become bigger problems. I read again and saw where the daughter opened up and told her everything, this would have still happened if the mother would have meaningful conversation with her daughter. Now the girl have learnt a new thing, to be more tight with her privacy, which has its own negative effect. That’s the point where the mother stops knowing anything about the girl whether she likes it or not. |
Family › Re: A Mother Contacted Us About Her Daughter’s Mood Change, What She Later Disco by merrymike47(m): 11:07pm On Jan 16 |
Kobojunkie: I am of the mind that the problem isn't necessarily online, but the information that parents — directly or indirectly —feed their children offline. 🥱🥱
Children learn what to believe and accept from watching those around them... their caregivers. The moment they realize that even their own parents do not respect boundaries, say one thing but do something else, model abusive relationship behaviors instead of good ones by what they condone and accept, children realize that those around them may not have answers they seek to valid questions they have inside of them... that, to me, is when they start looking elsewhere. Back before the internet days, bad influences were in all communities. Internet access has only made access to some of those same bad influences much easier. I think building a good relationship with your daughter as a father and building a good relationship with your son as a mother, helps to lessen the effects of those bad influences on the children. We are in a world that is more spiritual than physical, if the devil is more skilled and coordinated in using the tool (internet), it will outsmart the believers in influencing people. More than monitoring which is actually a characteristic of a witch, why not give proper training with more prayers? We got an advantage of our weapon not being canal as a believer but many times, it looks as though we are not aware of this advantage. Now that the mother failed in building a good relationship with her daughter to tell her everything that’s going on in her life or she feels like she should know everything thinking that she’s the only one who can figure it all out and she took the advice of spying on her daughter, violating every boundaries, I hope she can still have her daughter’s trust ever again, I hope she can fix the said problem, I hope she’s not given the daughter the chance to not listen to anybody again. Trust comes with respecting individual’s boundaries, when it is broken, things can never be thesame again. Yes she is a minor who is supposed to still be under her parent’s tutelage but the mother went far by spying when she can actually have a good conversation with her daughter. If that girl eventually goes wayward and more when she is of age, blame it on her mother’s decision to spy on her. I perceive that she’s lost that girl’s trust which will be hard to gain again. |

yommyuk: Many are called but few are chosen. Those who are chosen will be glorified. May we be counted among the chosen, for greater glory and exploits. Amen IJCMN
Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. But not all who call on Jesus Christ as Lord, Lord , shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Why? Because only bare words and passing thoughts does not really cut it. Performing a religious duty without heart, soul and spirt is vain. Speaking like an angel but living like the devil. Or having Jacob smooth tongue but Esau’s rough hands. Can one mock God. Absolutely not!
Matt 7:22a Many will say to me on that day, ……………
Not a few but many will try to justify themselves at the presence of Jesus Christ, on the day of reckoning. But Jesus is righteous. His judgement on THAT DAY shall be just. A SHADOW of that day to come, occurred in the wilderness of Sinai. Over a million adults crossed the Red Sea into the wilderness. But only two, Joshua and Caleb entered the promised land. That is less than 1%.
Food for thought eh.
In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus Christ gives us an illustration of 2 builders, whose houses looked the same from the outside. But hidden from eye sight was their foundation. Upon what foundation did they build their house (life) upon?
Proverbs 10:25 When the whirlwind passes by, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
Nowadays, people go to church for different reasons. Looking for husband? Wife? Job? Contract? Etc? Most times they get what they want. Then, after that, what next? Take away those things they desire initially for coming to church. Will they(We) stand?
1 Corin 10:12 So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall!
Better to build ones house ON the rock (Christ ) than on sinking sand (this world).
God bless. I love the fact that I am part of the generation that was saved. I understood that there was no salvation before the death of Jesus, People were governed by law, but the death of Jesus brought about the salvation which we enjoy today. I also understood that loving the lord your God and loving your neighbor as yourself has all the Ten Commandments in it. I also understood that the Holies of holy is no longer on earth but in heaven since the curtain of the temple was rent apart. All of these events and more reminds me of how much God love us and I pray that God give us oil in our lamps and keep us burning, amen. Thank you for your write up and I pray to God to renew your strength, amen. |

Is there a way by which we can easily differentiate between a stingless bee and the ones that stings? |
Agriculture › Re: Navigating The Dearth Period In Beekeeping: Essential Tips For January 2026 by merrymike47(m): 9:24pm On Jan 16 |
Sidof1212: As we find ourselves in the heart of January 2026, many beekeepers across Nigeria, including here in the southern regions, are grappling with the annual dearth period a time when nectar and pollen sources become scarce. This natural phase, often intensified by the dry harmattan weather, sees most flowering plants entering dormancy or delaying blooms due to low humidity and reduced rainfall. Without adequate forage, bee colonies can weaken, leading to reduced activity, queen laying slowdowns, or even colony collapse if not managed properly. To support your hives during this challenging time, supplemental feeding is highly recommended. Avoid artificial sugars or syrups that can harm bee health; instead, opt for pure honey sourced directly from your own farm or a reputable, verified supplier. This provides the natural nutrients bees need to maintain strength and vitality. A simple feeding method involves placing honey frames or shallow feeders inside the hive, ensuring minimal disturbance to the colony. Monitor intake closely to prevent robbing from other hives. Equally critical during this dry season is fire prevention. With farmers clearing bushes for the new planting season and hunters active in the wild, accidental fires pose a significant threat to apiaries. I strongly advise conducting fire tracing creating cleared firebreaks around your hives by removing dry grass and debris in a 3-5 meter radius. This simple step can safeguard your investment and protect the bees from devastating burns. Beekeeping is not just a hobby but a sustainable venture that boosts pollination, honey production, and even local economies. If you're new to beekeeping, an enthusiast looking to expand, or facing similar challenges in your apiary, feel free to reach out to me via DM or comment below. I'm Bee colony, a dedicated beekeeper based in Ibadan, and I'd be happy to share more insights, training tips, to improve your beekeeping journey.
Let's keep our bees thriving your questions and experiences are welcome! I love honey but I hate that I can’t take my bath with soap or rub cream when visiting an apiary 😂. Thank God someone was wise enough to make an overall coat like yours to make things easy. Nice job you did up there and I wish you success in your endeavors. |

My dad owns two houses. 1. Our family house which we want to sell 2. A smaller one bedroom flat on a not so big plot of land(there is still space on this land to build a bigger house in future)
None of us lives with our dad anymore hence the reason we want to sell it to treat him abroad.
The location is Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
My question is if there is any market place for such apart from Facebook or if there is anyone in particular to talk to.
We have tried selling for some months now, yet no buyer has approached.
What are we doing wrong?
Please help, my father's health is our priority. Sorry about your dad’s health. You may need the help of some professionals. There are agents that are into buying and selling of landed properties. |

When he became disciplined, he cut the waste and redirected the money into restocking and a small side income.
Lesson: Small daily expenses, when controlled, can become capital for growth. The book ‘Money won’t make you rich’ comes to my mind. joeba273: As teachers and educators, we all know how time-consuming it is to prepare detailed lesson notes and plans, especially with the new 2025 Federal Government curriculum updates from NERDC. Whether you're handling Junior Secondary (JSS) or Senior Secondary (SSS) classes, having structured materials can make a huge difference in delivering effective lessons and keeping up with scheme of work.
Let me quickly summarize what good lesson notes should include based on standard practices: Unit Plan Overview: This is the big picture – outlining the term's topics, objectives, and how they tie into the overall curriculum. It helps in sequencing lessons logically.
Detailed Lesson Plan: Step-by-step guide for each class session, including learning objectives, materials needed, teaching methods (like discussions, experiments, or group activities), evaluation techniques, and homework assignments. Always align with behavioral outcomes! Lesson Note Summary: A concise version for quick reference – key points, diagrams if needed, and notes on potential student challenges. Great for busy teachers who need to recap fast.
These formats ensure compliance with NERDC standards, promote interactive learning, and help students achieve better results in subjects like Maths, English, Sciences, Social Studies, and more.
