I just wanted an affirmation of the contract size for that broker.

Contract size is usually 10 for indices meaning that 1 standard lot (1.00 lot size) is equal to 10 (ten) units.

One unit of the index is about 35,000

1.00 lot size ought to require 350k USD as margin (using 1:1 leverage).

Divide 350k by 5 to get about 70k USD margin required.

He did 0.92 lot size, so check 70k X 0.92 and we arrive at pretty closeto the figure gabsonfx mentioned (66k).

$66,000 for a lot of 0.92, and with this my leftover margin level became 150% - what this level means is that I can no longer enter another 0.46 lot ...smh........It wasn't like this on challenge/verification; and yes, I got their email saying they would be reducing my leverage on the funded accnt.

Kindly click on the marketwatch where you have this index and select "symbol properties" then tell me which figure is written under contract size.

Regarding the other guy that opened 5 lots (is it standard, mini or micro lots ?)

I just felt it is no longer important to keep updating folks here. Since many think I was doing it to get "customers".

I have no further need to speak about my trading journey on this platform.

Attempting to be self taught in this market is an extremely torturous journey.

Use money to buy time by looking for a mentor (please note that I am not teaching anyone from Nairaland).

If you cannot learn from the "big" mentors, pick one of his progeny that is affordable and learn from that one. As you make money, you can now pay bigger amounts for trainings.

The only other way, which in my opinion is far better, is to ASK GOD TO TEACH YOU.

If any man lacks WISDOM let him ask God who gives liberally and upbraideth not.
You have the Holy Ghost on your inside, Christ said He (the Holy Spirit) will teach you ALL THINGS (trading inclusive).
