The best interest standard to look out for and protect against all odds in this case is the integrity of the constitution of the Republic and the absolute need for it to be respected at all times, as failure to do so now would lead to far more catastrophic consequences down the line. Justice is the core of every constitutional Republic and those who seek to violate it in any way must be met with appropriate consequences, including any judge who seeks to pervert the course of justice as well as those who may instigate and, or participate in the said potential civil unrest.
