mitchyy: Yes, i knew that already and i mentioned in my post that i didnt rub it. I even tried not to let anything touch it. I just pray it goes down and the scar fades away Pele. It happened to us too. The lump and scar was there for over 3 weeks but it went away and scar faded. And it was a private hospital so like LiftedHands said, hospital doesn't matter. Good thing you didn't massage it. Your LO will be fine |

Jennykoko3009: Oh jeeess!! Pls mama what do u suggest of using for d ela, its increasing day by day. Pls oo My baby had it a few months ago. Just realised it was as if her hair was shaved on one side but we had been in contact with another baby that had it. Got advice here and it worked. Pls see if you can use the search button for details... We bathed her with agbo for like 2 weeks or more, used baby tribotan on the affected site for about 5 days then continued with shea butter and coconut oil. Thankfully it stopped spreading and the hair is finally growing back. I was teased about attacking it with both orthodox and traditional medicine, not sure if it's necessarily that combination that worked. But the agbo seemed to do the trick |

Onegai: Today is #TICKLEDTHURSDAY! the day we share funny stories of us and our kids.
So I apparently live with an Interior Decorator, Because my little girl is constantly moving things around (we are looking for remote controls, ATM cards, a handset, some makeup, one or two earrings, one black wallet and some pencils. Please if you them, let me know).
Because of her decorating skills, I try and chase her away when I notice hwr moving towards my jewelry box. So this morning, I was drinking water and she realised it was her chance and went for it. Sharply I jumped at her ...and used my head to hit her wooden crib, spilled the water and then hit my mouth against the wooden frame of the bed. Now my mouth is swollen and the tooth there is wobbly and worse, my husband laughed and gave her the entire jewelry box to play it (he wanted his wallet back).
Sigh. interior decorator cracked me up. Also realising it was her chance. Lmao! Looks like you guys will have to start negotiating with her soon sorry about your swollen mouth captain |

kotias003: AlphaHandMaiden, thanks for responding.
Thank you!
Your comments are always so intelligent, detailed and helpful, I know this from the preggy thread.
I really I'm trying to find a happy place. I know I need to but its so difficult.
Yes I got a breast pump, a manual one. You said I should express as much as he eats? That's saying I should express every 2-3 hours?
Can I really feed him only on breastmilk if he doesn't latch & I always have to express?
Again, thank you so much! Everything AlphaHandMaiden said! It's not easy. My baby wasn't latching properly in the beginning as well but didn't introduce formula So my supply doesn't reduce. Got frustrated many times. I exclusively pumped and bottle fed for the first 6 weeks while practising to latch a few times each day. She eventually got a hang of it and now even grabs it herself when hungry. Lol. 6 months next week so it's very doable. But if it doesn't work out, please don't beat yourself up. It's worth the effort tho. During that time, my mum always reminded me that i wasn't EBF and i turned out okay. Lol. I pray for strength and grace for you xx |

tchiwinnie: @MetroTee, u can start as soon as he clocks 6months. Start giving water. U can start wt any of d fruits. till date, my baby hasn't taken any commercial cereal and he s 7months plus. I started wt pap(I make @home wt millet and guineacorn) , then I pureed banana, then I introduced other varieties eg, sweet potato and chicken/fish, sweet potato and carrot etc. he also eats garri small small. I ve also bought brown rice BT I m yet to grind it. He takes quaker oats too. U ll still continue to gv him milk and his main milk factory of course. At d onset, he may resist BT keep trying until he gets used to it. Introduce one type of food per tym. Real milk factory o. Lol. Thank you. I want to try also to make as much of her food as possible. |

barag: there's no particular food u should give FIRST. some people start with formula, I started with fruits.
infact left to me by now u should have started putting small bits of food in her mouth so that she can get used to the different taste. shebi na next week she go turn 6 months. u don try na.
one word of caution is whenever u give her something new allow her get used to d taste before introducing something else. this would also help to detect easily if she is allergic or reacting to any of them.
once u start giving solids, u would need to give water regularly to avoid constipation.
don't worry mesef name ftm n everybody here was a ftm at one point or d other LOL! It's true jare. Thank you. I've been touching the tip of her tongue with food small small sha |

AlphaHandMaiden: You can start giving water a couple of weeks before. I did that purely because i wanted to start my lo at meal times with a cup instead of a sippy cup or bottle. So we had some training wih a cup prior to the actual start of weaning, so we are not struggling with to many new things at the same time.
For the actual food, start with one meal a day and gradually work up to 3, within a month or 2. You are essentially substituting a solid meal for a usual breast feed. Fruit or cereal doesnt really matter. Single flavours of fruit or veg are preferable at the start as it is easier to spot and identify any allergies to any foods as opposed to offering a mix of food and not knowing what they are reacting to. Wow! This id exactly what i wanted. Thank you plenty! I'll try to start water today then as we have 5 days to 6 months. Plan to do baby led weaning at some point. She also sleeps for the night while nursing and be thinking of how to stop. Will use this formula method. Suddenly feeling so empowered. I've been nervous o. I really appreciate your response. God bless you x |

Hello mummies in the house. I know this issue has been over flogged and I have read back to see foods we can give our LOs. But my question is: what do I FIRST give my baby after being exclusively breastfed? She turns 6 months next week. I already plan to puree the fruit and vegetable options given and also alternate with cereal. So do we start with fruits? Or cereal? And does she start drinking water same day? Looks like alot of people start with bananas. And best time of day please... lunch? Dinner? I must sound so naive. FTM here |

Nnystc: Dear blaize777 I'm not happy reading your recent posts (bolded below+the other where you said your tears have run out)! You know when bible said "And David encouraged himself in the Lord " that was me right there. You know what I did? I would pick the child up, look sternly at baby and start speaking
I was declaring like mad...
This child given 3 months to live is a big kid now, the next blink he'll be ready for secondary school... I still order him around, I just even ordered a batch of koboko for him the other day
My sister, be of good courage. I still maintain there is NOTHING God cannot do. He's just waiting for you to touch heaven with your faith. Thank you so much for this!!! And thank God for your mighty testimony o. God bless you sis xx |

babythug: For the treatment of alefo You can try bathing the child with red acalypha leaves. Herbal practitioners would usually sell it. Google so you know what it is. Use for bathing not drinking oh. This leaf is very effective. I didn't even come back to share my testimony. My LO had eela and we used it to bath her (still using it 2 weeks after), the stuff stopped spreading and actually cleared. The elewe omo (people who sell it in the market) gave a combo sha that had some barks in it too. Thank you to the mummies that suggested it. God bless you! |

@blaize777 Reading your last post and Nef's response just brought tears to my eyes and I said a prayer for you. God will perfect what He has started in your life in Jesus Name.
Evemama's message was encouraging and I also believe prophesying and making positive confessions helped. Do you have a breast pump? And maybe you can try what she did feeding baby yourself sometimes (if they allow you).
It is well dear. So thankful your mum is around |

greatie: Hello mamas, As if Dr F likes inducing Reading mamas post on this is getting me scared. Being a FTM and reading d adverse effect of induced labour from d last mama that finally had CS, i dont think it a good idea.
Pls mamas who have gone through this could you share your experience? He's my doctor and i wanna be sure of anything he might be bringing to the table.
Thanks in advance. The good thing is, at the end of the day, it's up to you to decide |
Travel › Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by MetroTee: 12:32pm On May 13, 2016 |
feddy27: Point of correction, he does not like to induce. I used him and I give him 5 stars!
Now the thing is this, as a FTM be open minded about decisions and trust your healthcare provider.
I bet you, you will come back to testify.
You are a first time mum! trust your doctor *hugs*
<speaking from my own experience> I don't get this. Why not allow your body progress naturally? I believe one should only be induced if you are past your due date or if baby is too big or distressed. Forcing your body to do what it's not ready for is not worth it IMO. These days it appears induction is now for convenience purposes :/ I'm happy you had a pleasant experience tho. I was one week past my due date and doctor suggested induction. Fortunately, I went into labour naturally just before induction started and I'm very pleased I chose to wait that extra week. To each his own |

TheLeakyTribe: It is my turn to share my testimony.
My LO was born yesterday 11th May 2016. Some of you would recall how my Dollars were stolen by my help before my trip. I was well prepared to follow it up and post everywhere about it but after my first doctors appointment here, the stolen money was irrelevant to me.
The doctor did a scan and said she found spots on my LO's heart that were indicative of either a hole in the heart or downs syndrome. I began to pray and believe God even though I was very shaken by the news.
Long story short, she arrived yesterday and is completely fine. She followed me straight from the OR to the postpartum recovery room. Join me praise the Lord. I'm one happy mumma. Thank You Jesus!!! Congratulations dear. Thank God for a safe delivery and for this testimony. Kisses to your LO |

Red acalypha plant. Scientifically proven to help with most fungal infections. If you can buy it and plant outdoors in your house, it's a good plant to grow and use fresh. Or go to those gardeners at the side of the road as ask for cuttings. Carry a small bucket or bowl filled with water with you. As soon as you cut the plant, put it immediately in the bowl of water so it stays freah. Don't let them give you Green Acalypha, it's not as effective.
https://www.nairaland.com/2894705/hibiscus-flower-society-calling-all/5 Thank you so much @onegai esp for the link. Found the leaf here around the house and my mum confirmed its the one. we've started the process now of bathing her with it. My MIL also sent same leaves but with other ones in it too (the whole agbo combo) and they said I should drink so baby can get some while breastfeeding. I'm skeptical cuz I feel it can make her start stooling |

zaynie: MetroTee, I think it was just a coincidence. Ela doesnt act that fast and I haven't heard of where it was transmissible but then never say never plus a mother's instinct is hardly ever wrong. You might want to go to the Dr to have it checked out. The only treatment I know is herbal. There is this red flower that traditional herbal dealers sell. You can also cut ot fresh from trees, cos it grows around......someone pls help out with the name or picture. Soak or boil in hot water and baby bathes with the extracts.
I heard tetmosol baby soap does wonders too. Thank you @zaynie. My MIL mentioned the leaf with red water too, she has tried describing it but I don't seem to know it so she says she'd get the name tomorrow. Called a doctor and she said same that it may be a coincidence but that it is highly contagious as it is like ringworm. Will try to see the paed in the morning. Exactly @ mothers instinct. lol. Baby has been restless all day so just putting it all together. My Dh thinks I'm over reacting |
