Please What balanced fund are you subscribed to ? princezzz: For the last 1 month, i put in investment in the ratio of 2:1. 2 been Equity and 1 been Balanced fund. Balance fund has done as much as Equity has done, adding today's own, BF has exceeded Equity in terms of profit. Please note that this is just based off on my own calculation for only 1 month from the 20th of febuary till date. And this is not indicative of past or future perfomance. |

I’m so sorry for how this system has frustrated you, I wish you all the best and most importantly speedy healing for your wife fastcars0000: It's really crazy my people, I was the one who got refused with all funds available, in fact I decided to just wait for the spousal sponsorship instead, I had to apply for it just the time it takes was my issue but I have no choice because I had must visit my family. With how sick my wife was , in fact I nearly lost my 2 years old daughter who is Canadian while the mom when for the final surgery, Anyway I also applied again this time the only thing I didn't submit is my future death certificate. I hope it works this time. I send over $5000 for house rent and upkeep to them monthly in Canada, it's clear I had no reason to stay there even for a day more. I make good money in Africa, Nigeria is not the only country I do business. I think TRV visas are a No no now, these guys are something else. At the end of the day they still give visas to those who will eventually seek assylum |

Thank you, that was what I selected and I also had an itinerary, time with my friends family and we both picked locations we could visit together The person in question is my childhood friend so we did review places to visit together Like you said they are the only one that explain what went wrong and that’s unfortunately an explanation I’ll never get. olasubomy: It may be difficult to dissect what concerns the officer had with your application unless someone sits with you and check everything you declared but if you are patient to review it all again, you may see areas that can be improved.
My educated guess may be that the officer was not convinced about some wordings in your letter of explanation. One thing that comes to mind is demonstrate good understanding about the city you are visiting and detailed itinerary where you intend to visit apart from just staying at your friends place. I would give you an example:
I stated the above just to give you some depths about the kind of research to make regarding your intended destination city/province to strengthen your purpose of visit and tie it to something you are passionate about and intend to see. it also strengthen that vibe you are a genuine visitor and knows very well about what you intend to do. You can also plan towards a popular holiday in Canada. Don't relax too much on the fact that a Canadian citizen would be accommodating you.
Based on the info you provided. The green arrow per the screenshot is what you should select and not per red arrow. Whats that what you selected.
All the best! |

But I have a 7k USD mutual fund so in actual fact I have like 23m, maybe the friend isn’t strong enough and unfortunately I do not have a brother or sister with PR or Citizenship, so I’ve decided to hold my side 😆😆😆😆 We were all here when they rejected an ED that has 100k USD savings, earns 18m and has a sick wife and child that are Canadian citizens They are not doing justice to the applications or simply do not want to give visas.. that’s it amnotapervert: If everything you said is correct, then under normal circumstances your visa should be approved. But we are living in abnormal visa times, and you are holding a Nigerian passport double wahala.
Canadian visa rejection rates are very high. IRCC has heard the “childhood friend/family friend will provide accommodation” story many times, and they currently have over 21,446 pending asylum cases. That’s the real issue here.
Yes you are not looking to claim asylum but because currently 21,446 asylum cases are pending for Nigerinas you are already put inside the bucket sadly https://www.irb-cisr.gc.ca/en/statistics/protection/Pages/RPDStat2025.aspx |

First of I’m the wife here and my husband and son are not travelling with me The money mentioned is my own money alone not my family money and it was supposed to be a 2 weeks trip At the moment I earn 1.2m per month, but like I said I had another side job that got me almost 9m extra reason I have such savings. My trip was estimated at a max of 5k CAD, which was very generous btw. I don’t think wanting to spend such is a problem I schooled in the UK and returned in 2016, I haven’t travelled since then. In 2015, I visited Ireland to see the same person that wrote the invite, that’s all about my travel history My childhood friend is providing accommodation, so my money was meant for just flights and shopping if I choose to. I submitted a letter from him and documents to back this up The feedback felt like the application wasn’t even opened at all, cos I have a 4 year old at home and husband, also I have a job but they claim I didn’t provide any of this amnotapervert: It all balls down to Money how much you earn montly as a family
Help us with more context
What is your travel history? How much do you earn monthly?
Let us look at it this way: If you earn 1 million naira per month, it would take you about one year to save 13 million naira. That calculation assumes you are not paying bills or any living expenses, which is unrealistic in Nigeria.
Now, if you plan to spend a full year’s savings on a trip to Canada, it will not make sense to a visa officer. Why would someone spend an entire year’s income on a vacation?
Also remember that flight tickets around this time of the year are expensive. On average, flights cost 900 CAD to 1,200 CAD during regular periods, and much more during festive seasons. For a family of three, with one child under 2 years old, you would only be paying for yourself and your wife. A round-trip ticket for both of you could cost around 4 million naira non festive period
That leaves about 9 million naira from your savings.
But the visa officer will still ask: Are you using almost your entire year's savings just to buy flight tickets for a 4-month trip?
For a family of three, 13 million naira in savings is not considered strong enough, especially for a long trip.
The officer likely felt that the funds were insufficient to support the travel.
Yes, 13 million naira plus a mutual fund looks substantial, but “sufficient funds” are judged based on:
1. Cost of Travel– flights, accommodation, feeding, transportation, and daily expenses for the entire trip. A longer trip requires significantly more money. 2. Financial Stability – you must show that after paying for the trip, you still have enough funds left to support your normal life back home. 3. Monthly Income Patterns – it’s not just about how much you have saved, but how much money flows into your account consistently. 4. Naira Devaluation– unfortunately, the naira has lost so much value. Amounts that used to look strong no longer meet expectations.
If you submitted a 6-month bank statement, the officer would check:
Your opening balance, How much you received each month, and Whether your account shows consistent income and stability with relation to the employment letter you submited.
For a young family from Nigeria, the officer may also consider risk factors, especially given the recent rise in asylum claims by Nigerians. It’s sad, but it affects visa outcomes.
I’m sorry about the refusal. |

But the new portal asks for 4 months, nothing about 6 or 3 months is mentioned there amnotapervert: I have said this before but will say it again
People are funny sha IRCC will be asking what are you hiding ??
The IMM 5885E checklist is clear: 3 months of transaction history + 6 months average balance.
Remember, you’re coming with a Nigerian passport — don’t give them more reason to deny you
The IRCC website’s “Apply for a Visitor Visa” page suggests providing at least 6 months of account details in your statements. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/apply-visitor-visa.html

Hello everyone
Please I need help
For the question “Have you been refused a visa or permit, denied entry to or ordered to leave a country or territory”
How do I explain, when I was way younger, in secondary school and early days of university I had applied to uk and us respectively to visit my family but I was refused. I do not have any of the details of those refusals as I was way younger and it was a long time ago. After this I’ve schooled in the UK for Msc
I need help how to explain this under these section of providing details of what happened and why |

olasubomy: The TCC should be enough for tax records and only reveal the tax remitted for prior years. That of the current year won't be reflected until annual returns are filed in 2026 and the tax authorities update the employees' records based on their individual Tax Payer IDs.
You don't need to worry about current-year tax as your payslip shows you are still employed, and your salary still passes the standard payroll system. The same applies in Canada, as annual returns are filed with CRA based on tax deducted from employees and remitted by the employer in the prior year.
TCC is not a mandatory document, as Hayatou 27 has mentioned, but there is no harm in adding it if, in your judgment, it strengthens your home ties. Ok thank you very much Please my childhood friend is writing an invitation letter, who should it be addressed to |

adelforreal: In Nigeria, Tax Clearance Certificates are issued on preceding year basis and this usually covers the last three years (i.e 2022, 2023 and 2024 in this instance). Hence, it poses no issue if it is used for any official purpose including visa application. All the best. Thank you, please do I need to show anything for the current year or the TCC is enough ? |

hayatou27: Passport Request Alert
I woke up to this great news today
We have been refused Canadian Visit Visa in 2019, 2020 and 2024. Finally my wife and i have been approved.
Timeline: submitted on Sept 7th 2025, i have a biometric from my application from 2019
PPR : 26th September,2025
Document submitted 1) SOP 2) invitation letter from my sister 3) my sister and her husband Canadian passport, thier utility bill 4) I have a valid 5 years USA visa with Schengen , Expired UK visa and other travel history to the USA (This is my 5th US visa) 5) Letter of introduction from my office and my wife’s office 6) Letter from the member of parliament in my sister area in Canada 7) bank statement: 17k Euros and 10k USD
Money market: 54M naira and 50k USD 9) E- tax certificate 10) travel itinerary 11) letter of explanation for financials and Work history 12) marriage certificate
I did it myself , i got some tips here, Thanks guys Congratulations Please quick question, please is etax certificate the same thing as TCC, cos what I got from LIRS shows my tax remittance for the previous years. I asked about that of 2025 and they said TCC shows only previous years I was thinking it will be better to show a transaction history that shows that I’ve been paying tax all year but there’s no official statement like this on the portal Do you think the TCC is enough or I need to get a supporting documenting? |

Good evening everyone, please I need your help
Can I submit a 3 months bank statement alongside a 4 month dollar MF bank statement
So the issue is that, I used most of my money for a farm investment earlier in year and the return came back in June which I’m not sure if I’ll be able to prove it as it’s a friends farm that I invest in and he returns my capital and interest as agreed. I do not have any documents to back this up
So my initial plan was to print my Naira statement for 3 months, which starts right after the lump sum came and then submit the mutual fund for 4 months
But I saw on the new IRCC portal that 4 months bank statement should be submitted and I’m confused as to how to go about this
Please I’ll like suggestions on how to go about this |
