TravelRe: Nigerian Students In The Uk How Do You Survive? by mhoreh: 10:42am On Feb 04, 2015
They are definitly going to apply for a visiting visa, i have a friend that invited her younger sister last year and stated in it that she would be staying with her for the period and attached her school ID card and enrolment letter to the invitation letter...... My brother is just 12 and cant travel alone, what i have issues with is how to specify accomodation plans for my mum

Lexusgs430:
What would underpin their applications? You obviously cannot submit enough documentations to support both applications(not unless you can)!!!
They would have to both apply for visiting or tourist visas and the weight of whatever documentations they might have, would determine which way the applications swing!!!!

dolapobello1:
GTB rates are quite high. I think it's more cost-efficient to just open a UK account and have your folks transfer all the money into it. I should know. I used a GTB card, switched to Stanbic and eventually had to transfer money from my Nigerian banks to a UK bank. Just imagine how hard it must have been for me to transfer from Nigeria to UK while staying in their UK.

princess211: Pls note that klm's sister company, air france, pilots r on strike. Be careful as you book a klm ticket..... I was informed that my ticket was cancelled on my travel date, 22sep. But the devil is a liar. Was able to buy another ticket for that day, but more expensive, had to pay the difference. Well wish you good luck....

guiddoti: My school will also resume on 26th of september, though, I have submitted on friday at ikeja. My last date for my course is 10th of Oct. which is also 10 working days. As based on my calculation, by 29th of sept you should know the outcome of the visa and on/before 3rd of oct you should have your visa. If you are sumbitting at ikeja, it is possible to meet up the last date of acceptance for your course. please, which school are you going? I guess, we have similarity.
I submitted my application on the 12th and I was asked during the interview for my course start date, I told the guy 15th and he was like I had just 3days to resumption and I said yes I know and quickly told him I had gotten an extension, b4 d guy decides to find an excuse in dat... Wld be picking up my visa dis week

So my nerves had been worked since yesterday cos of my refusal history which i didn't have documents to back up, but then i wrote in the extra information box that i was underage and cant find the required documents

Let's forget the story
I just got the almighty approval mail "Your application has been approved and the visa has been issued. We aim to return passports to the VAC within 2 working days. You can check the location of your passport at www.tpcontact.co.uk " i applied on the 12th at ikeja

Thanks to all them bosses in the house, your real time info had been worth it and my GOD has smiled on me, despite all the hiccups i scaled through

medman007: In that case, just keep the faith alive and be optimistic. Since you said you finished about the same time with me, i also thought we must have met at some point. I had no 146 at the gate, then i was giving Tag 23 for tier 4 when we were called in but then some 2 guyz and a lady already seated before we came said someone already gave them 23 - 25 respectively, then after the documentation verification with the guy at the lobby, i was given another tag and this time it was 168. Finally in recounting what transpired during my submission, i remember i had a chat with two guyz while waiting to be called for biometrics, a fair guy ( going to manchester for a 2-week course or so) and the other guy is dark ( don't knw which school he's going but heard him say he came from Kaduna and he's paid part of his tuition...)

I don't knw if the above helps u figure out me... and lastly, i'm going to Uni of Southampton for MSc Cyber Security.
Ok wen I came in I met the fair lady, 2 guys and a dark lady on a short kinda hair and multicolored dress on the first row, and anoda slim lady I borrowed a pen from on the 2nd... I kept on asking questions tho, was given tag 31 initially den 193 for biometrics

medman007: Have you checked your Spam folder? if you still cldn't find it there, Just chill till tomorrow and lets see how things pan out. Just relax, if you have followed all the steps laid out on this thread to d latter and you responded well to your interview questions, everything would just be fine.
Am sure my mailbox got tired of me refreshing it today, checkd my spam severally, and I did follow all instructions just that I once had a refusal many years ago and can't find the passport or the refusal letter so I had to use the extra information box to explain and pick Jan 01 1900 since picking a date was mandatory .... Staying positive, hopeful and keeping faith ..... Anyway are u going to Leeds, cos I must ve seen u lastweek

IntroVAT: Hello Everyone
Looks like my visa has been issued o! I thank God for his mercies!

My mail read:

Your visa application @ abuja (Ref: xxxxxxx)

Your visa has been issued and your visa has been issued. Etc etc

But it also says you can check the location of your passport at tpcontact.co.uk and that site is that of teleperformance. Me I didn't apply via teleperformance o, I hope I don't have cause to be worried

Thanks to everyone on the site that helped me one way or the other

perfect08: Kudos to all gurus that has made this thread very informative. The information on this thread is priceless.

I'm planning to schedule my interview for next week but currently, VFS Abuja have no appointment date for next week.

I want to inquire about Teleperformance office in Abuja. I've read a lot of comments about the VI office but nobody is talking about their Abuja office. It seems VFS Abuja and Teleperformance Abuja split the month in half; VFS handles till 12th while Teleperformance handles the rest. Is their Abuja office as bad as the Lagos Office?

The latest day on my CAS for arrival is 10th Oct but school resumes officially on 22nd. I don't know the best option right now. Please help.

Thanks
Have never heard of teleperformance abuja, infact there's no such option when picking preferred place of interview, its just VI, Ikeja and Abuja

Nageo: Good day all,

Big kudos to all those that has really made this thread very informative.

I've been following this thread as a guest for sometime but decided to signup so as to enable proper interaction.

I recently got an offer at Sheffield Hallam University, the tuition fee is 9150 (12150 - 3000, discount given to Nigerians) plus maintenance fee of 7380, making it a total of 16530 . With the initial deposit of 1000 as requested by the school, my CAS was sent and I applied for visa on 2nd sept 2014.

My dad can sponsor my stay in Uk effectively but I can't afford to start counting my 28days as the school's intial start date is 15 sept 2014, so we got a sponsorship letter from my local government stating that the sum of 4.5m would be made available to me as soon as the visa is issued.

Do I have to relax that the visa will be approved and issued?

Please I need your thoughts and insight on this.
Thanks.

Itstyme: After waiting for over 23 working days I got my visa denied under the basis of not being a genuine student. I did all that was needed to be done but guess I was just unfortunate. I was called for a second interview after having a successful first. During the second interview, the ECO asked me to state all the course modules which out of 12 I mentioned 6. Surprisingly, receiving my package this morning, he denied me based on the fact I was unable to mention all the modules and he made up his mind I am not a genuine student... This is so sad.. Guys! I intend to reapply asap, what do you suggest...
yepa!!!!! do we have to know all our course modules again ni

justwise: This was a simple question a banker could not comprehend ^^
You read that link and still got it wrong? Now i understand why banking sector in Nigeria is messed up...thanks to 'bankers' like you looking after our money.
Rachii: You are obviously an arrogant person and probably jobless. I can understand why you are always available. You will have to excuse me I got work to do. Time is money. I have read that link back to back even before you pasted it here. Am sure you wish you were the author.
I have got to go make some money. Continue your work but pls don't forget that you are not the British Embassy and do not instill unnecessary fear in people.
You may wish to send them your CV they may help you. Am done here.
can both of you seriously stop this, everyone on this thread is very important and lots of people have been helped.... selfless service isnt being jobless its all about helping people and we all on this thread aint jobless, we are all just aiming to help one another
for the love of God @justwise and @rachii biko make una stop, it haf do, na beg we they beg una, dont divert the aim
