We have been refused Canadian Visit Visa in 2019, 2020 and 2024. Finally my wife and i have been approved.

Timeline: submitted on Sept 7th 2025, i have a biometric from my application from 2019

PPR : 26th September,2025

Document submitted
1) SOP
2) invitation letter from my sister
3) my sister and her husband Canadian passport, thier utility bill
4) I have a valid 5 years USA visa with Schengen , Expired UK visa and other travel history to the USA (This is my 5th US visa)
5) Letter of introduction from my office and my wife’s office
6) Letter from the member of parliament in my sister area in Canada
7) bank statement: 17k Euros and 10k USD
Money market: 54M naira and 50k USD
9) E- tax certificate
10) travel itinerary
11) letter of explanation for financials and Work history
12) marriage certificate

Please quick question, please is etax certificate the same thing as TCC, cos what I got from LIRS shows my tax remittance for the previous years. I asked about that of 2025 and they said TCC shows only previous years

I was thinking it will be better to show a transaction history that shows that I’ve been paying tax all year but there’s no official statement like this on the portal
Do you think the TCC is enough or I need to get a supporting documenting?

Can I submit a 3 months bank statement alongside a 4 month dollar MF bank statement

So the issue is that, I used most of my money for a farm investment earlier in year and the return came back in June which I’m not sure if I’ll be able to prove it as it’s a friends farm that I invest in and he returns my capital and interest as agreed. I do not have any documents to back this up

So my initial plan was to print my Naira statement for 3 months, which starts right after the lump sum came and then submit the mutual fund for 4 months

But I saw on the new IRCC portal that 4 months bank statement should be submitted and I’m confused as to how to go about this

Please I’ll like suggestions on how to go about this

Even less.I Submitted an application 17th may and it was approved 26th May. No US visa. And others were less than am month.

in summary you didn't have enought money to show you are doing well in nigeria to visit Canada

(1) for a visitor visa to Canada you must show that you have the money
(2) show how you made that money you have

On average, a tourist in toronto spends at least $300 per day, and this is a conservative estimate

if have a valid US visa, so the visa officer is less likely to suspect that you plan to overstay or claim asylum.

1. Proof of Funds (POF):
You need to provide proof of funds for any visa application. Clearly explaining your plans and how you intend to fund them will greatly strengthen your application.

2. Sample Budget for a 7-Day Stay:
For a 7-day trip, outline your expenses as follows:
- Flight: $$$
- Accommodation: $$$
- Activities: $$$ (Explain what you plan to do and their costs.)
- Transportation: $$$
- Food: $$$

If you have a family member who is a PR or citizen, they can provide their PR card or passport with their address and rent agreement or mortgage to show the visa officer that you will stay with them. If they are covering your accommodation, they should write a letter confirming this. This can reduce the financial burden on your application.

If you don’t have such a family member, that’s fine. You’ll need to write a detailed letter explaining your plans, activities, and estimated costs you are looking to spend for each item.

3. Safe Bank Balance:
While there’s no exact "safe balance," having more than the recommended amount for your trip is crucial. For example, if you have ₦15 million ( one applicant) , that would be considered sufficient but IRCC wants you to have way much More than your your require.

On average, a tourist in toronto spends at least $300 per day, and this is a conservative estimate.

Look at it this way if you make #500,000 naira in nigeria a month why would you come to spend your month salary in less than 48 hours in canada and claim you want to stay for a week or two.


4. Why Family Members Help in Visa Applications:
Many successful applicants have family members who assist by:
- Providing their PR card or passport.
- Writing a letter or providing proof (e.g., a lease agreement) to show they will house and accommodate the applicant.

This reduces concerns for the visa officer and simplifies the application process.

Please can a childhood friend be provide a sponsorship letter , their passport and mortgage details to show that they will be housing you?

I had a bit of concern about my UK PCC that was requested in June but hadnt come.

I took the option of a replacement and sent to my friend in the UK, by the time she was scanning the PCC to me last Wednesday, the physical copy also arrived at my doorstep in Lagos same day.

UK PCC settled, awaiting IELTS response for EOR.

Please we need advice. My wife is the PA, we are waiting for her school to respond to WES for a month now no show(she has sent her transcripts and copies of her diploma and degree). She received her IELTS today LRWS 8,7,7,8 which after calculating is 443 but her birthday is middle of DEC, she is considering challenging her writing so if it is bumped to 7.5, we can get 446 so even if there is a 5 mark drop ...we will be OK. Please I will appreciate good advice

Bro did you write IELTS? If NO please do so while waiting for WES, it can boost your score tremendously. I will say instead of remark, just write the exam. The remark might come out just the same but at least if you do averagely well, your score will be boosted

Glad to be here, just submitted EOR for ielts for 8.5,7,6.5,7, hopefully I get a positive feedback soonest.

Asking for a friend.
He got PR earlier the year which he applied for in Europe. He decided to show face in Naija before leaving for Canada. He then thought to marry his fiancee legally so he can apply for her visa when he lands before they complete marriage rites next year, so they can go back tougher.
Few days ago he realised, he has to declare he's married and CIC will take away his visa and process his wife's own along with it which will take extra time.
The problem now is, he doesnt have pof for himself anymore talkless of showing for his wife. He has bought a ticket already to leave before realising if he doesn't declare his spouse he might run into trouble of misrepresentation and may never be able to sponsor her.

Please what can he do cos he got married legally 3weeks ago and his ticket is for this month

My mum is applying for a US visa to attend my cousin's wedding in September and she runs a small business where she sells drinks in packs. I am the one sponsoring the trip and I earn about 200k per month. I got married late last year but i have not done any change of name, so basically our surname and address remains the same.

My cousin is sending IV and a written invitation letter, she will be staying with his sister so basically accommodation and feeding is sorted. For strong ties my brother is still in boarding school and her husband is in Nigeria too, so is her small business and I am too.

Do you think she stands a good chance and any advise that can help. Thanks
