No, I don't think death renders all what we work hard for and how we live our lives as vanity. You and I have been living (conversing) here with one another, and you have done so wisely, which I am certain you worked hard for. If you had thought your conversing with me were vanity, we'd likely be living here insulting each other instead of learning about each other. And even after either of us dies, the living you will remember this our living together with delight, as opposed to the misery with which we would remember each other if we had lived here together miserably selfishly thinking our life here were vanity.

Are you saying after a person dies, there is still time for the person to reflect how he lived his life?

How do you know that I know the meaning of tithe when I clearly told you that I can't find tithe in Exodus 22:29?.....but you claimed that tithe was spoken about in that verse....so is it not reasonable for me to ask you what tithe is all about?

A selfish person will not have lots of friends, and even family might me less familiar with them.

Just imagine how you might feel about selfish parents. They will not spend their resources setting you up in life, and living might therefore be less comfortable for you than it might be for a person with unselfish generous parents.

Whether I live comfortably or not, death can still come to me anytime.....there is no guarantee that a person who lives comfortably will live longer than a person who does not live comfortably. Don't you think death renders all what we work hard for and how we live our lives as vanity ?

And if I am not selfish to you and then die, you will likely not be selfish to my offspring unless you are a selfish asshǒle.

If you are selfish, those who know you will not often be unselfish to you.

But only a selfish person lives for their own benefit. I may will all the cars I buy from you while I live to a charity that feeds the poor or schools the orphans long after I am dead. We are both living here now, and the words we are living may benefit those who read it long after we are both dead.

Some even die so others may live and benefit.

Whether a person is selfish or not, we will all Still die. So how does being unselfish benefit a dead person?

Because I will enjoy it while I live. And you will enjoy the profit you make from me buying it from you. And the tax you pay from selling me a car will improve the society we both live in (hopefully, you pay tax and it will not all be stolen). And the maintenance of the car I buy from you will create an enjoyable livelihood for the mechanic I take it to for service and repairs.
