Hi SeanWilliams...
Please, will you be kind enough to drop the same comment on our magazine page?
Thank you.
Education / Campus Conflict - Which Would You Save? UNILAG Or UNILORIN by michaelfaya(m): 12:44pm On Jun 26, 2019
So we’re here for another table shaking time on our campus conflict post, A little secret: Our readers are still talking about the last one. You can check that out later.

Today, we are comparing two amazing schools again, bringing out two remarkable features and one bad side (every school has that‍♂️).

Last week, we compared alumni from UNILAG and UI in relation to their impact on Nigerian students generally. Now we are bringing UNILAG and UNILORIN and asking: With the two good and one bad side of these schools, which would you save?

UNILAG
The University of Lagos, Akoka has many good sides to it, one of which is its location in a bubbly part of Lagos state. Now, let’s quickly look at the good sides and the bad side.

Location
It’s true that the location of the school (Of course, it has to be in Lagos… It’s called the University of Lagos for a reason) is a huge advantage for its students, making possibilities for opportunities, exposure, and a very vibrant social life.

The Alumni
One of the reference points UNILAG students mention quickly is the quality of its alumni. Many famous people in Nigeria are graduates of UNILAG. The list of prominent people who attended UNILAG is endless.

Campus Conflict – The Bad Side

Moral Bankruptcy
I honestly tried to think of a word (or phrase) that puts the following sets of people in one corner: Cultists, ‘runs girls’, Internet fraudsters, and almost anyone living on the wrong idea of a ‘fast life’ – The phrase I came up with is Moral Bankruptcy.

UNILAG has had its share of negative publicity based on several bad things that have happened on its campus, often caused by the morally bankrupt students, and it’s funny how it seems (Keyword being ‘seems’) like half the students fall into this category.

UNILORIN
So, this is another great school in Nigeria with equally great academic excellence. UNILORIN prides herself as a school moving to break bounds. From her motto: Probitas Doctrina, which is Latin for “Better by far.”

Now let’s look at the good sides and the bad side.

Academically Oriented
Everyone in Nigeria knows about the ‘great striking’ issues that is with ASUU. While this affects more than half of our federal universities and state universities, UNILORIN is exempted. UNILORIN puts her students first (among many other things though, we’ll get to that soon), The University of Ilorin is one of the foremost universities in the sub-Saharan African with an uninterrupted academic programme for over 16 years. #fact

High Moral Standard
I know that the issue of morality is slowly becoming debatable as a matter of subjectivity, but the importance of having young people who are morally disciplined will never be a case to throw under the rug. The University of Ilorin has over the years invested in moral upbringing of her students which I think is a good thing.

Campus Conflict – The Bad Side

Too Many Restrictions
While it’s important to groom fine young men and women to join the labour force morally sound and active, It is also important to give room for experiences and a taste of freedom. The university is among the very few universities with a dress code and a long list of dos and don’ts, making it seem nothing less than a secondary school.

Now that we’ve cleared the air, it’s time for you to choose… Which school would you save if we imagine the federal government wants to stop funding one and spend more on the other?

Would you save UNILAG or UNILORIN? Let us know by using the comment box.

Romance / Dealing With Rejection 101 by michaelfaya(m): 4:42pm On Jun 18, 2019
'
Bisola met a man, they clicked so well; She waited for him to shoot his shot, he didn’t. So she shot the shot and missed, David literally said ‘No Bisola, You’re not my type

Dealing With Rejection
We have all had those moments where we are expecting to hear a resounding ‘Yes’ but, get a ‘No.’ It’s totally normal. There are situations, especially social situations where you feel like connecting to someone but they look the other way. Some people are, however, subtle at saying ‘no’ those are the ones who care about how you may take the rejection. Others really don’t care; they can literally say no as comfortable as they can walk to take a piss.
Those are the ones we are here to help you deal with. Rejection will always come once in a while, but how do you manage rejection? How do you come out of the feeling you’re not good enough or you’re not just the one?

In this article, we’d be looking at ways to deal with rejection as it comes. Before I go on, I’d like to point out that ‘Things are not really bad, you just feel bad!’

Dealing With Rejection
It’s Not Always About You
Yes, I know that you didn’t see that loud ‘No’ coming and you’re probably thinking ‘Why in the world would she say NO to me.’ I want you to remember that it’s not always about you. Examine the situation and try to find out why you’ve been rejected. It’d surprise you to know why they have said ‘no’ to you, sometimes it’s for your own good.

Don’t Put Yourself Out There
Now, this can be tricky, because, how else would you meet someone (people) if you don’t sell yourself? Everyone knows what they want, so you might need to tread cautiously. Give small hints to show interest, and if you get rejected it would not take a toll on you as much as it would have if you were too extra.

Don’t Be Afraid, ‘No’ Is Just A Word
In dealing with rejection, understand that you win some and lose some. You can’t win it all always. So don’t let people’s rejection put you in a position where you feel you’re not up to standard. It all balls down to your understanding it’s not all about you.

In Conclusion…
When we interact with other people, the fear of rejection not only brings us pain and inconvenience. It also deprives us of the warmth, comfort, fun, and excitement that other human beings can provide us.

So, if you set your mind that there would always be a ‘Yes and a ‘No’ then it would help you deal with Rejection properly, knowing that you would get a ‘Yes’ someday.

Was this helpful? You can also share situations where you’ve been rejected and how you dealt with it in the comment section.

Romance / 5 Questions Guys Should (really) Never Ask A Lady!!! by michaelfaya(m): 8:50am On Jun 17, 2019
Hacks and Tips

Usually, men believe they know all the hacks and tips when it comes to women. They think they know, for example, all the equations of possible words to open the heart of each type of woman.

It is out of this confidence that they make mistakes by asking the wrong questions.
Questions that can end up smearing her up but here we have put a collection of some questions that hundreds of man should NEVER ask a woman:

How Old Are You?
As a man, you should never (ever) ask a lady her age. Asking this question may even present a lack of general education. It’s a golden rule!

How Much Do You Earn?
I’m sorry, do you think you are an accountant, financial advisor or what? Dare to figure this out, and you will scare her.

How Much Do You Weigh?
The worst thing you could ask a lady out of nowhere is ‘how much do you weigh?’ Women don’t like hearing this question, especially those who are insecure about their body. So don’t ask it.

How Many Men Have You Been With?
Brothers, please, except you and this lady have grown to a certain level of ‘situationship‘ you shouldn’t ask her this question. In her mind, you’re trying to put her on the spot and whatever she says would be used against her.

Are You On Your Period?
On a final note, never ask a lady if she’s on her monthly thingy… just don’t. Wait, think about it, How can you even let out such words?

As said at the beginning, there are hundreds of uncomfortable questions that men should not ask, not only because women find this uncomfortable, but because, even worse, the answers could be catastrophic regarding what you expected to hear.

What do you think about this? Let us know your thoughts by using the comment box. P.s: we have all the appropriate memes and gifs for all the questions raised... You can check them out https://www.magazine.vasiti.com/hacks-and-tips-5-questions-not-to-ask-ladies/...
Health / Bitter-sweet Passing: Here’s How This Kebbi Student Chose To Take His Life by michaelfaya(m): 5:08pm On Jun 12, 2019
Another suicide story.

The story of this 29-year student of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin-Kebbi would leave you asking a few questions.

Here’s the gist…
The victim identified as Solomon Benedict was reported to have poured an insecticide inside his yogurt and drank it.

It was after he drank it that people noticed he was groaning in pains while holding his tummy.

Unfortunately, while people were rushing him to the hospital, he gave up the ghost.

You might want to ask why did Solomon Benedict kill himself?
The simple answer according to reports was that he was frustrated with his financial situation.

While speaking to reporters, a female friend of his told the press that Solomon had complained about his financial situation and threatened to kill himself if the situation didn’t change.

She said, “for some time now, he had been telling me he would kill himself if his financial situation did not improve. But I never believed he meant it. I remember whenever he visited me at Jega, he always lamented over his financial predicament and I would give him some money to transport himself back to Birnin Kebbi and thereafter he would tell me he would kill himself one day if his situation failed to improve.

“I was shocked when a friend called me from Sokoto that Solomon had killed himself.”

What do you think of the suicide of Solomon Benedict?

Let’s hear your thoughts.

Jokes Etc / Five Things You Should Never Search On Google by michaelfaya(m): 4:19pm On Jun 12, 2019
Before I start this post, can we use just five minutes to appreciate Google? I mean, they are literally a part of everyday activities for most people.

Although I would like to talk about all Google products and services (to the best of my understanding), however, that’s not the purpose of this post.

In this post, I want to share five things you should never ever search on Google!

So, without wasting anymore time, let’s dive right into it:

Google Search Is Not For Everything

Your Name
Imagine saying ‘Okay Google, What is my name?’

Are you even serious? Did you lose your memory or something?

Your Favourite Food
Your phone is not your brain (yet). You’re the only one that truly knows your favourite food. Don’t type ‘What’s my favourite food’ except you’re looking for its recipe.

If you do this, You’ll only get hungrier.

Google
*Deep Sigh*

How are you even typing Google on Google and you are about to hit the search button? Haven’t you heard of an infinite loop?

Your E-mail Address
It’s illuminating to see what you’re linked to online and sometimes terrifying. It’s like opening a can of worms.

You do this at your own risk.

For the last one... Oya please Follow this link to see it... taink you kiss

Politics / Opinion - Nigerians Please Don’t Make Segun’s Suicide Case About You by michaelfaya(m): 3:23pm On May 14, 2019
It is very heartbreaking that we still read suicide stories about young people in a country with so much promise from the young generation. Nigerians and especially the younger generation are very resilient and creative people if you’d agree with me, but what happens if every young person who is experiencing a tough situation resorts to suicide?

We should always remember that Most people who consider suicide don’t really want to die, they just don’t know how to cope with or eliminate the pain they are going through. If you know someone who is suicidal or you are suicidal yourself, getting professional help and learning suicide prevention strategies can be of significant help.
In less than two months, there have been over ten reported cases of suicide among Nigerian students and young people alike. Recent reports had Segun, a ‘JAMBITE’ who failed JAMB and resorted to taking his own life, Chukwuemeka who had been struggling with mental issues at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and who also took his own life. Luckily, with Segun, his attempt was a failed one as reports have it.

The question we should ask is this – What can we do to help us?
Why have these young people chosen to take their own life, why do they seek comfort (for whatever they are going through) in the cold arms of death?

In Segun’s case, we may all agree that failing his UTME exam was a very trivial reason to take his life. I mean, people fail JAMB all the time. But I will not entirely blame him and I hope that he recovers in the end (You can read Segun’s Story here). I will partly blame his family, his friends, and the society who has failed to show him that beyond failure is the opportunity to do and become better...
This post, however, is not about Segun, it, however, is a message to celebrities, politicians, probably pastors and “philanthropists” A message of plea, Please don’t use this opportunity to tell Nigerians that you really care, when in fact, you majorly just care about promoting your Mr-do-good agenda!
Segun will hopefully make it alive and it will trend on social media and each of the above group would want to identify with him to make themselves feel better about themselves. Please, all of you take off your garment of hypocrisy and hit the nail on the head.

I imagine a politician saying something like this ‘I will sponsor Segun with 10 million for his education’ please, please, please! No! Let’s find a way to control and manage the rate of suicide among young people.

We should talk about these on every social media network out there. We should find solutions to this problem because we know the root cause of suicides among young people, and pressure from school is one.

So let there be hotlines a depressed person can call, there should be open meetings where suicidal persons can meet and talk over a counsellor. Social media influencers should talk more on this topic and give hope to people who may be feeling suicidal.

We should always remember that “Suicide doesn’t end the chances of life getting worse, it eliminates the possibility of it ever getting any better.” – Unknown

Mayowa has always wanted a boyfriend. It wasn’t her primary goal on campus but she was down for it; Just as she resumed for her 300 level at the University of Benin (UNIBEN), one of her friends Chika set her up to meet this amazing guy, Fred.

She was reluctant to go at first, but she eventually did, Everything about the first date showed there would be a second.
The pair lingered with great conversation over dinner and drinks for hours. They even took a walk in the park and even kissed on a swing set right at the school park.

“We both are interested in seeing each other again.” Mayowa thought to herself. Relationship goals!

But texts during the following weeks never turned into plans, and the guy eventually stopped texting Mayowa altogether…

Romance / Must READ - 5 Important Rules To Dating A Girl That Wears Wigs!!! by michaelfaya(m): 4:58pm On May 07, 2019
we all can’t be natural!

How many of us guys are in a relationship with a girl that’s 100% Natural? That’s right, you got that right. Close to none.
While dating a girl who is all about that extra hair isn’t a bad idea, it can just be so hard to keep up. So I have made a list (based on an unofficial survey) of seven rules to dating a girl who wears Wigs or weaves.

You would agree with me that wigs look and feel right when we see them on a woman, yeah? Yet with all these standards set by the society, wig and weave wearers may sometimes feel like they are cheating the system with their not so real hair.

Telling your partner you wear wigs or weaves may be a difficult revelation when in a relationship (like we don’t know already?). So many men out here expect their girlfriends to have beautiful natural hair. Well, whether they do, some of them enjoy rocking wigs and weaves. So here are the rules!
