PLEASE guys I need your help .. Is it true that having relatives in the u.s affects chances of getting a visa? My mum and elder sister are both in the u.s, they are residents and legal although my sister bears a different surname from mine..someone suggested I say no, I don't have anyone but I will need to fill my mums info in my ds-160? Is there anyway they can check her details and detect its not true ? I dont know if therea a eay they can do thathould I just mention I have only my mum, or leave both out and say no.. I'm really confused and I need urgent opinions please. I really dont want this to affect me..has anyone admitted that they have relatives over there and it didn't affect them or has anyone successfully left it out that they have a parent there?

Me:I hope to begin a doctoral program in mechanical engineering, where I will be specializing in thermal and fluid sciences. I will also be working under Prof Shankar Naranayan of the Energy Systems Laboratory where we will be working on the causes and mitigation of instabilities in fluid flow through micro channels for electronic cooling and this system is based on Vapour compression Cycle.
VO: what will you be doing with the PhD?
Me: I hope to come back and impart on the younger generations as I lecture at the University of Nigeria . Also when I went for the international Physics Olympiad,I noticed that Nigerians are lacking behind in terms of experimental validation of theory and I hope to contribute in proffering solution to this problem on my return. Finally, I also hope to join the National Center for Energy Research and Development on my return.

Me: No (wetin you think I go answer before)
VO:Ok we will be approving your visa, remember you can't enter the US before your earliest time of resumption which is July 21 please make sure you keep your I20 as you will need it on entry into the US.
Me: (after hearing the magic word *approved*,I start dey dance for my mind but I just maintain outside) Thank you sir

Another question pls, my sch orientation starts by 16th august and the nearest date is 10th for interview, wont this be an issue again, or should i repeat my interview in abuja. I dont want them having any excuse again, saying the date is close. Or i should just differ till spring. Advice Needed. Pls. Thank

please house I am applying for undergraduate studies the school I applied for is asking for high school transcript evaluation via Wes please which transcript in particular are they talking about is it waec transcript or all my senior secondary school transcript results am kinda confused
