To me, I don't see this as a cooked story because I am facing the same thing with my wife. Its the grace of God that is still keeping me up till today and if not for that I would have gone astray, involving in adultery. I see it as very odd because it is the wife I think should be running after her husband for affection and love but mine is not so.

My sister, I will advise you to hold on to God and learn how to pray if you ve not been praying before. Here you will receive a lot of advice but be careful with the one you follow. God originate your coming together, so, go back to Him and let Him see you through.

Your wife is not inferior. God calls both of you joint heirs of the grace of life (God's unmerited favour).
The scripture above warns us (men) that we MUST apply great care in dealing with our wives, otherwise our prayers would remain unanswered. You can't beat
your wife to make her spotless, very glorious and holy. It only involves the Word of God. Disciplining your wife belongs to
God. He didn't give you that
authority. Your wife is not your child whom you are to discipline, and "spare not the rod." Remember, God
causes the rain to shine upon the good and the bad. Hand her over to God and keep using the grace of God to love her.

The elders obtain a good report by faith. Faith can only work by love. God commanded you to love your wife as Christ loved the Church (his bride) and gave Himself for her- Eph. 5:25. The more your deposit love units into her love-bank, the more God will release to you the interest that accrues to you-Lk.6:38; Eph. 5:27. The bible says that by faith " the elders obtained a good report." You can only make
yourself a good husband when you dare to follow God well through His Word-Hebrews 11:2, 6; Gal. 5:6.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT
WHATEVER DECISION OR STEP YOU TAKE IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR SPOUSE IS TILTED TOWARD GOD. IF GOD IS HAPPY, HE WILL CAUSE YOUR JOY TO BE FULL ON THE LONG RUN.

The word "thorn" communicates the idea of pain, trouble, sufferings, humiliation, or physical infirmities, but not temptation to sin (Gal. 4:13-14).
1. Paul's thorn remain undefined, so those with any "thorn" might readily apply the spiritual lesson of this passage to themselves.
2. Paul's thorn was attributed to demonic activity or origin. Permitted yet limited by God (Job 2:1ff).
3. At the same time Paul's thorn was given to him to keep him from becoming proud over revelation he had received.
4. Paul's thorn kept him dependent in greater measure on divine grace (v.9; Hebrew 12:10).

As the creator of everything, God can use anything, anybody, any situation or circumstance as a thorn just to humble you and keep you for Himself to bring to pass what He had purposed your life for.

At times God can keep the thorn there in other to remodel you to be suitable for the place He is taking you to, and when He sees that you are fit then He removes the thorn. You have to be careful as a TRUE Christian not to misbehave when He is preparing you for a special assignment and you think He had forsaken you.
