President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council as chairman and vice chairman respectively ahead of the January 2027 elections.

The composition of the campaign council, released on Saturday, also named APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, as vice chairman, while former Zamfara State Governor , Senator Abdulaziz Yari, was appointed Director-General.

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, will serve as Secretary of the council, supported by APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, and Hadiza Bala-Usman as deputy and assistant secretaries respectively.

The campaign council will also have a team of senior advisers comprising former APC National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande; veteran journalist and politician, Chief Segun Osoba; former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha; former APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu; and Senator Florence Ita-Giwa.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, were appointed Deputy Directors-General for the southern and northern blocs of the campaign.

They will work alongside Senator Opeyemi Bamidele and Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, in the two zones.

He also named Senator Adams Oshiomhole as deputy director-general in charge of mobilisation, while the President’s Chief of Staff will serve as deputy director-general for administration

James Abiodun Faleke, who played a key role in the APC’s 2022/2023 presidential campaign, returns as Deputy Director-General for Election Planning, Coordination and Monitoring.

Faleke will coordinate zonal directors comprising Senator Olushola Adeyeye for the South-West, Dr Ngozi Olejeme for the South-South, Senator Uche Ekwunife for the South-East, Muntaqha Rabe for the North-West, Ahmed Muhammed Ketso for the North-Central and Senator Sani Danladi for the North-East.

Ms Stella Okotete, Engineer Abdullahi Garba Ramat and Audu Maikori were appointed secretaries of the Election Planning Directorate.

The Legal Directorate will be headed by Muiz Adeyemi Banire, with Dr Liman Hassan and Babatunde Ogala serving as deputies. Other members include Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi; former Katsina State Governor, Ibrahim Shema; Worgu Boms; and Dr Kingsley Tochukwu Udeh.

The Ukraine international, 25, has not played a competitive match since November 2024, having been provisionally suspended by the Football Association the following month after returning an "adverse finding" for banned substance meldonium.

He was subsequently given the maximum four-year ban by the FA but appealed against the decision to Cas, who have ruled Mudryk can return to competition "with immediate effect" after he accepted breaking anti-doping rules and agreed to a suspension equal to the time already served.
