Politics › Re: Senator Natasha Akpoti Reports Her Suspension To UN Inter-parliamentary Union by Midex88(m): 9:55am On Mar 13, 2025 |
emkz: I suggest she writes to the EU, US and Saudi Arabia because this is a serious issue.
It is clear that this woman does not weigh her actions carefully before taking them.
1. There was a case of Akpabio holding her hand and showing her round his house and scratching her palm with his fingers. He then proposed to her in the presence of her husband that they could be coming there for "quality time". She said she didn't tell her husband the details nor report the incidence to the ethics committee. Mistake number 1.
2. She said when she visited Akpabio in his office to complain about her motion being stood down, Akpabio said as the chief presiding officer of the senate, he'd take care of her if she took care of him. She didn't report the incidence to the ethics committee. Mistake number 2.
3. On a routine day, she was re-allocated to a seat and she started quarreling when she refused to take her seat after she was told she could not speak from where she was. She said she was being silenced and was speaking for the Nigerian women. She could have simply moved to her new seat and made her contributions from there. Mistake number 3.
4. She answered a call from Brekete where she said the new seat they sent her to would hide her from the camera and she won't catch the eye of the senate president. That was a silly thing to say. Mistake number 4.
5. She went on Arise News and made claims of sexual harassment. That was her biggest mistake. She could have first made a report to the ethics committee and leaked it to the press. By doing a media appearance, she allowed those she was fighting prepare an ambush.
6. She then formally filed a petition against Akpabio on sexual harassment. It turned out to be improperly filed according to the senate red book, Order 40, sub 4. That exposed her as being unaware of parliamentary processes. Her colleagues ripped her petition to pieces. Mistake number 6.
7. Mistake number 7 was taking Akpabio to court over an infamous facebook post by Akpabio's aide where the aide said she wore transparent clothing and walked seductively in the senate. I am no fan of Akpabio, but he is not liable for what his aide wrote. His lawyers would argue correctly that he be excluded from the case.
8. Mistake number 8 was obtaining a court order to stop her probe. That could have given her ample opportunity to give cause to her conduct which could have allowed her cite the sexual assault issues and give evidence. By citing the cases, she could have put the ethics committee in trouble because their hands would have been tied.
9. Because she allowed her colleagues see the battle she was waging before sge waged them, they could prepare their counter-attacks.
10. I think going to the inter parliamentary union undermines her case. The IPU has no supervisory powers over Nigeria's senate and can do nothing to discipline Akpabio. What she'd accomplish is rubbishing and embarrassing Akpabio and her colleagues. Many of these people are already persona non gratae which makes her action self-defeating.
What she can do now is to take time out, listen to those who genuinely care about her and find a different tactic to fight this battle. She should forget about getting justice from this senate. My recommendation would be to file a formal petition in court or code of conduct tribunal against Akpabio and fight it till the end. Akpabio can be docked. oil dey ya head |

The commentary was like:

SendoSendal: Fubara has lost this battle
1. Even when the substantive suit of the defection of the law makers get to the Supreme Court, it will be discarded. The burden of proof is always a tough nut to Crack.
2. Fubara should be ready to trade-off. He got to the seat as a product of political tradeoffs. You can't have everything. People and negotiations were involved in the process that made you Governor. You can't discard them and want to enjoy the spoils alone. Its treachery
3. After few days of grandstanding, Fubara will mellow down and do exactly what the Supreme Court has ordered. He does not have any choice.
4. If he refuses, the House of Assembly can impeach him and his friend, the Chief Judge of the state won't be able to do anything. Disobeying Supreme Court judgment is an established ground for impeachment anywhere in the world. If his friend, the Chief Judge, set a 7-Man Panel, and they deem Fubara innocent, they will be clashing against the pronouncement of the Supreme Court. The Chief Judge will not desire to put his entire career and life-service on the line to serve Fubara's interest. When the chips are down, the Chief Judge will save his own head first
5. There is no way out of this for Governor Fubara. He just have to obey the judgment of the Supreme Court
6. I just hope he is getting the right advise. He shouldn't allow himself to be mislead. If he goes down, he would go down alone Apt |

Ranking the Courses by Career Prospects (Nigeria & Internationally)
Each of these courses has value, but their **career prospects differ based on demand, flexibility, and global relevance. Here's a ranking based on job opportunities, career growth, and international recognition:
1. Business Administration (Best Overall for Career Prospects 🌍💼) ✅ Versatility – Covers finance, management, operations, strategy, and entrepreneurship. ✅ High Demand – Needed in every industry (banking, consulting, healthcare, tech, etc.). ✅ International Recognition – Business degrees are respected worldwide. ✅ Entrepreneurial Benefits – Great for those who want to start businesses. 🚀 Best for: Managerial roles, consulting, banking, entrepreneurship.
🔹 Why Choose It? - It offers the widest range of career opportunities in both Nigeria and abroad. - You can specialize in Finance, Strategy, Project Management, or Operations. - Globally, MBA (Master of Business Administration) increases earning potential.
--- 2. Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management (Strong in HR & Compliance 👥📜) ✅ Job Stability – Every company needs HR professionals to manage employees. ✅ Legal & Compliance Relevance – Important for handling labor laws, employee rights. ✅ International Certification – HR professionals can earn CIPM, CIPD, SHRM to boost careers. 🚀 Best for: HR management, labor relations, corporate training, compliance roles.

---
4. Public Administration (Best for Government & Policy Roles 🏛️📜) ✅ Stable Jobs – Government, NGOs, and policy organizations always need administrators. ✅ Useful for Civil Service – Great for those interested in government careers. ✅ International NGOs – Opportunities exist in UN, World Bank, public sector consulting. 🚀 Best for Government agencies, NGOs, policy-making, administration.
🔹 Why Choose It? - Best if you want a career in the public sector (government ministries, local councils). - It has limited international appeal compared to Business Admin or Marketing. - Growth is slower than business-related fields, and salaries may not be as competitive.
---
Final Recommendation: Which is Best? ✅ Best Overall: Business Administration (Most flexible & globally recognized). ✅ Best for HR & Corporate Careers: Industrial Relations & Human Resource Management. ✅ Best for Sales & Digital Careers: Marketing. ✅ Best for Government & NGOs: Public Administration.
My Top Pick? If you want the best career prospects in Nigeria and internationally, Business Administration is the strongest choice. It gives you access to jobs in banking, tech, consulting, and entrepreneurship. However, if you have a strong interest in HR, marketing, or government work, those fields also have potential!
God bless You 😊 |

Deepthoughts: The Tutsis appears as a crookish set of people, they are the minority in Rwanda but are using their tribal dominated army of Rwanda to rule the majority Hutus by force indefinitely, the genocide of 1994 happened because the majority Hutus won the presidential election but the Tutsis using the army killed the Hutu president shortly after,Paul kagame himself was a participant in that assassination, when the Hutus tried to protest, the Tutsis carried out the genocide in an attempt to drastically reduce the population of the Hutus,Paul kagame n his Tutsi people are a problem. You need to go back to school |

FreeStuffsNG: Nope. It's much deeper and predates the mineral resources. Colonialism is also part of it. The Colonialists empowered the Tutsis who were demographically minor in comparison to the Hutus. The rest is poor and corrupt leadership in DRC.
The Tutsis are lucky to have a Kagame I see a resurgence of the 1994 cleaning once kegame leaves that seat of presidency… a lot is at stake in Rwanda… Pray for the minority tutsis |
